It is with great sadness that the family of the late IGNATIUS BRENNAN of Marystown announces his passing at the Blue Crest Interfaith Home in Grand Bank on Monday, August 1st, 2016, at the age of 88. BROCKERVILLE, ALICE
1926-2016

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of the person we are so proud to call "mom", Alice Brockerville, at the U.S. Memorial Health Care Centre in St. Lawrence, on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at the age of 90. She came to Newfoundland in 1945 as a war bride with her husband James. She leaves behind a family legacy including sons, Jim (Maude) Brockerville of Scarborough, ON, Max (Darlane) Brockerville of Lawn & Murray (Lisa) Brockerville of Scarborough, ON; daughters, Hilda Isaacs (Wayne) of Lewin's Cove, Phyllis Kearney (Jerry) of St. Lawrence, Joyce Kearney (Gord) of St. Lawrence, Olive Ghaney (Gord) of St. Lawrence, Odette Brockerville (Raymond) of Lamaline, Rosalie Brockerville of Little St. Lawrence and Juanita Hiscock (Al) of Lewin's Cove; daughter-in-law, Phoebe Brockerville of Grand Bank; 39 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn with precious memories daughter Judy Hapgood of Mount Pearl, granddaughter Brittany Hierlihy of Mount Pearl, brother Don (Mary) Tapper of Frenchman's Cove, sister Louise Balsom (Vern) of Garnish, sister-in-law Shirley Tapper of Frenchman's Cove plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by husband Lloyd Hapgood, parents Ambrose and Amelia Tapper, brother Gerald Tapper, sisters Sadie Young, Sophie Hapgood, brothers-in-law Richard Young, Alex Hapgood. HOLLETT, TOM
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Tom Hollett on Saturday, August 27, 2016 as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident on the Burin Peninsula. He was on his way to attend a fund-raising ride for autism, a cause that he took up that was dear to him. He was 60 years old. Tom was a dreamer, creator and a believer in people and it showed. His love of his family, both his children and the taxi industry knew no bounds. He often talked of the people of the Burin Peninsula as his extended family and that truly showed in his interest in his ongoing projects that has made the community what it is today. Leaving to mourn with precious memories are his son Chris Hollett of St. Johns and daughter Cheyenne of Burin. He also leaves behind a very large circle of friends within the taxi industry, his motorcycle friends and a large circle of extended family and friends in his home of Burin and other areas of the province. Tom was predeceased by his father, Keith and mother Peggy Hollett, as well as mother of Chris, Jackie Hollett. The family will be receiving visitors on Thursday from 10AM-9PM and on Friday from 10AM-12PM at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. In his memory flowers gratefully accepted or by donation to the Oldest Colony Trust Company who are responsible for the ongoing work of the restoration and preservation work underway in Burin. Funeral service will take place 2PM Friday, September 2nd, 2016 from Zion United Church, Collin's Cove, Burin with inurnment to follow at a later date. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Leslie Wells (Diane) and Darryl Wells of Glace Bay, NS; daughters, Deanne (Greg Maclean), Tammy (Darren) and Barbara of Glace Bay, NS; sister, Rosalind (Elmer) of Kingston, ON; 6 grandchildren: Jonathon, Chelsey, Nicholas, Cole, Brendan & Kailey; mother-in-law, Eileen Kelly; special sister-in-law and caregiver, Aggie Slaney; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents, Raymond & Harriet Wells; son, Raymond Wells; father-in-law, Robert Kelly; brother-in-law, Gordon Kelly. The Wells Family will be accepting visitors at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in St. Lawrence on Monday, August 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. & 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; from where the Funeral Service will take place on from where the Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, August 24, at 11:00 a.m. The Vigil Service will take place on Tuesday, August 23, at 7:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mount Cecilia Roman Catholic Cemetery in St. Lawrence. In Leslie's memory donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
