The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown
and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

CLEMENTS, George Robert
Passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on Thursday, April 7, 2011, George Robert Clements of Grand Bank, age 78 years. Predeceased by Mother & Father John & Maggie Clements; Brothers, Charles (Phyllis), Arthur (Barbara), and Mother & Father-in-law Thomas & Frances Hickey. Leaving to mourn: Wife Catherine; Sons Bob (Sharon) at Grand Bank; Jamie at St. John's; One Grandson, Gregory Clements; Brothers: Fred (Jean) at Grand Bank; Cec (Marilyn) at St. John's; Sister: Dorothy Prosser at Grand Bank. Then on Friday and Saturday from 10 am - 12 pm; 2 pm - 4 pm; 7 pm - 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Sunday at 2 pm, from the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bank. Interment to follow at Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Grand Bank. DIAMOND, MARY I.
1941-2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late MARY ISABELLE DIAMOND of Marystown announces her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Sunday April 3, 2011 at the age of 69. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are Sons Dale (Kristine) of Toronto, Darryl (Gail) of Saskatoon, Darren (Jennifer) of Creston South, and Daniel of Marystown; Sisters Evelyn (John) Perham, Georgina (Paul) Dawe, Marilyn (Laurie) Winsor, Sandra (Frank) Newbury, Rennie (Dennis) Newbury, and Viola (Lionel) Miles; Brothers Leslie (Mauricette) Farewell, Gerald Farewell, and Cyril (Jean) Farewell; 2 Grandchildren Kirklin and Brooklyn; plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by Husband Caleb, Parents Martha & Lester Farewell, and Sister Francis Mayo. It is with great sadness that the family of the late WILLIAM (BILL) JOSEPH DOBER of Marystown announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Thursday April 14, 2011 at the age of 83. Mr. Dober was a founding Charter Member and a past President Member of the Marystown Lions Club. He was also a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are Wife Theresa of 44 years; Sons Billie of Qatar and Paul (Michelle) of Mooring Cove; Daughter Paula of Marystown; Sister Susanna Ducey of Marystown; Brothers Michael (Marie) of Marystown, Howard (Kathleen) of Marystown, and Arch (Lillian) of Marystown; Grandaughter Laura and Step-Grandsons Matthew & Mark Harding; plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by Parents Richard & Laura Dober, Sisters Mary Dober, Genevieve Bland, and Theresa Dober; Brothers Richard, Dermot, Walter & Jack Dober. Passed peacefully away, at Grand Bank Health Care Center, on Thursday April 7, 2011, Bibiana Drake of Allan's Island, Lamaline, in her 88th year. Predeceased by Husband Dennis Drake, grandson Johnny Haley, and brother John Robert Haley. Leaving to mourn, 8 sons: Robert (Jeanette), Dennis Jr; Andrew (Ruth), Gregory (Sherry), Anthony (Cecile), Gerard (Hellen), Edward, Marcel (Denise); 6 daughters: Catherine Benteau (Leo), Julia Haley (John), Stella Kirby (Frank), Angela Thornhill (Don), Mary Stapleton (Wayne), Lorraine Hoffman (Trent), 2 daughters-in-law: Theresa Drake and Carol Collen, 33 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, sister Bernadette King, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Remains resting at St. Joseph's Parish Church, Allan's Island, at 2 pm on Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday. Funeral service date and time to be announced later. Leaving to mourn: son Aubrey at Fortune, son Lloyd (Melinda) at Burin, daughter Daphne Bonnell (Leonard) at Little Bay East, son Ken (Mary) at New Brunswick, son Keith (Michelle) at Kilbride, daughter-in-law Lydia at Fortune. 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brothers John (Katherine) at Fortune; Joe (Martha) at Fortune; sisters, Dinah Lake at Fortune, Lucy Murcell at Twillingate. Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Interfaith Home, Grand Bank, NL, on Friday, April 01, 2011, MARGARET ANNIE MITCHELL, of Creston South, NL, in her 84th year. Leaving to mourn her loving sons Samuel Jr. (Clotilda), Marystown, Bram (Mary), Grand Prairie, AB, Bruce (Bride), Creston South, Larry (Sharon), Creston North, daughters Jenny King (Ross), Creston South, Linda Mitchell (Clarence Lee), Creston South, Beulah Tobin (Bill), Burin, Ruby Mitchell, Grand Bank; 15 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren; Sister Jenny Reid, Old Shoppe, T. Bay, sisters in law Mahalia Reid, Old Shoppe, T. Bay, Winnifred Chislett, Marystown; and a large circle relatives and friends. A very special thank you to her home care workers Gladys Farewell and Marguerite Cross.
