The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

BENTEAU, Catherine Mary
(September 25, 1929 - April 28, 2009)

Passed peacefully away, at her residence in Paradise, Catherine Mary Benteau of Point May, in her 79th year. Predeceased by husband Clement, parents Michael and Rosella Stacey, granddaughter Judyette Thornhill. Leaving to mourn 3 sons, Clement (Jean) of Scarborough Ontario, Kevin (Dorothy) of St John's, Gerard (Sharon) of Point May, 6 daughters, Catherine (Eric) of Paradise with whom she resided, Celeste (Melvin) of Fortune, Gabriella (Alex) of Fortune, Rose (Gerard) of Point Aux Gaul, Dorothy (Clayton) of Scarborough Ontario, and Mary (Wayne) of Oshawa Ontario. 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Brothers Jack, Alfred (Ethel), Eric (Carson), Felix (Rose), Edward (Nora), James (Mary Joe) and Sister Louisa Fitzpatrick. Plus a Large Circle of other relatives and friends. Remains resting at The Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Point May on Wednesday April 29, 2009. Funeral Mass from The Most Holy Rosary Church Point May on Saturday May 2, 2009 at 11 am. Interment to follow in the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery Point May. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Point May Cemetery Fund.
