GRANDY, Thomas Richard - 89, Halifax, passed away April 9, 2008, in Maplestone Enhanced Care. Born in Grand Bank, NL., he was a son of the late Stephen and Bethania (Francis) Grandy. Tom was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Merchant Navy 1940-1945. He was employed with the RCMP as a carpenter for 20 years later working 20 years with Public Works as a shop foreman until his retirement. Tom is survived by his wife, Gladys (Russell); children, Don (Brenda), Eastern Passage; Ches (Donna), Tatamagouche; Debbie, Scarborough, Ont.; Sharon (Bobby), South Rawdon; John (Bonnie), Halifax, and grandchildren, Timothy, Stephen, Laura and Kristy. He was predeceased by brothers, Max, Len and Roy, and grandson, Don. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 14, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayer's Rd., Halifax.
