The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center, St. John's on Monday, April 14, 2008, Eric B. Barnes of Grand Bank, age 57 years. Predeceased by parents John and Elizabeth Barnes. Leaving to mourn wife Loretta of Grand Bank, daughter Lisa Wisse (Richard), granddaughter Madison of Edmonton, AB., son Jamie (Cindy), grandson Austin of Brooks, AB, sister Clara English (Howard) of St. John's, brother Philip (Marion) of Grand Bank. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Cremation has already taken place. Funeral time and date to be announced later. , age 74 passed away Friday, March 14, 2008 at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, St. John's, NL. Formerly of Marystown, NL. Predeceased by Father Fredrick and Mother Daisy Maude and Nephew Gerry Emberley. Leaving to mourn are Daughters Nancy (Greg) Irvine, Pam (Glynn) Smith and Holly (Wilbur) Davis Sons Bob (Jean) and Glenn (Lucinda). Grandchildren Scott Smith, Daisy Manning, Courtney and Allan Brushett. Brothers George (Millie), Roy (Mavis) and Sister Beulah Emberley. Special Friends Grace, Carolyn and Niece Goldie. Also leaving behind a large circle of family and friends. Reverend David Tulk conducted funeral services at Creston North United Church, Creston North, on March 17, 2008. Predeceased by parents John and Elizabeth Brushett, daughter Jessie and granddaughter Mandy Lee. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 56 years Mary; Two sons William(Goldie) of Fortune, Richard(Beverly) of Stephenville; three daughters Marion(Wayne) Bartlett of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Alvina Brushett of Grand Falls, Windsor, Amy(Ches) Price of Grand Bank; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother Angus(Ivy) of Jacques Fountain; sisters Martha Smith of Brookside, Placentia Bay, Lillian Upshaw of Little Harbour, Placentia Bay and Rita(Arthur) Allen of Marystown. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Alice Snook, sisters Marjorie, Harriett, Abby Belle, and Jessie, brothers George and Maurice. Leaving to mourn: husband Gordon of Grand Bank, daughter Dr.Joy Cluett-Stone(Jason) of St. John's, Thomas (Mildred) of Grand Bank, Bruce(Sharon) of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; 5 grandchildren, Timothy, Tyler, Stephen, Nicolas and Rebecca; brothers Major Don Snook (Leah) of Chance Cove, Charles Snook (Shirley) of St. John's and Maxwell Snook (Joan) of Grand Bank. Predeceased by husband Clayton; daughter Annie; and sons Charles and Clayton Jr. Leaving to mourn: daughter Christie at Lindsay, Ontario; sons Philip (Joyce) at Midland, Ontario and Alex (Annie) at Finland Falls, Ontario; daughter-in-law Loretta Crowley at Mount Pearl; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Rick and wife Karen of Garnish and Bertram and wife Kay of Halifax, NS; daughter Millie Grandy and Ernest of Garnish; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by husband William and grandson Terrence. Captain Charlene Hillier officiated funeral from Salvation Army Citadel, Garnish with interment following at Salvation Army Cemetery, Garnish. GRANDY, Thomas Richard
GRANDY, Thomas Richard
- 89, Halifax, passed away April 9, 2008, in Maplestone Enhanced Care. Born in Grand Bank, NL., he was a son of the late Stephen and Bethania (Francis) Grandy. Tom was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Merchant Navy 1940-1945. He was employed with the RCMP as a carpenter for 20 years later working 20 years with Public Works as a shop foreman until his retirement. Tom is survived by his wife, Gladys (Russell); children, Don (Brenda), Eastern Passage; Ches (Donna), Tatamagouche; Debbie, Scarborough, Ont.; Sharon (Bobby), South Rawdon; John (Bonnie), Halifax, and grandchildren, Timothy, Stephen, Laura and Kristy. He was predeceased by brothers, Max, Len and Roy, and grandson, Don. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 14, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayer's Rd., Halifax. A funeral service will be held 1 up.m. Tuesday, April 15, in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville.
