It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Saturday, September 26, 2015 Marie Abbott age 93 years of Musgrave Harbour. Predeceased by her parents John and Amelia; husband Dolph; daughter Diane; brother Fred; sister Phyllis. Left with fond and loving memories are her son Chris of Burnaby, BC.; daughters Donna (Earl Noseworthy) and Bernice Abbott all of Musgrave Harbour; sister June (Roy Watton) of Gander; grandchildren Sandy, Bud, Tim, Todd, Danny, Dianna, Steven, Sally and Chaz; great-grandchildren Nikki, Calli, Samantha, Zachary, Brittany, Jessica, Natasha, Kristina, Brandon and Chasity; great-great-grandchildren Caleb, Annabella, Karaleigh, Cameron and London; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. At Marie's request cremation as taken place. A service of remembrance took place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 with Mr. Roy Watton officiating. CHAULK, Mark
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Brookfield Hospital on Friday, September 11, 2015, Mark Chaulk age 85 years of Ladle Cove. Predeceased by his parents; Baxter and Jane Chaulk, parents-in-law; Gordon and Flora Tulk, sister; Phyllis, brother; Harry and brothers-in-law; Kenneth Chaulk, Malcolm Hussey and Roy Small. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving wife of 62 years, Vera, children; Nancy (Boyde), Lorraine (Jeff), Derrick (Lori), Mike (Glenda) and Roger (Shelley), 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sisters; Marion and Audrey (Bill), brother; Ron (Patsy) and sisters-in-law; Margaret Chaulk and Margaret Hussey and a wide circle of other family and friends. Pallbearers were sons; Derrick, Mike and Roger Chaulk, grandsons; Dylan and Brandon Chaulk and grandson-in-law; Brad Chislett. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, Mrs. Jean Goodyear, age 88 years of Musgrave Harbour. Mrs. Goodyear passed away at Bonnews Lodge in Badger's Quay on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Predeceased by her husband Raymond, son-in-law Irving Faulkner, grandsons Danny and Darren Faulkner, parents Kenneth and Mildred Flynn, brothers Arthur and Beaton, and sister Joyce Guy. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Jim (Mildred), Danny, daughter Margaret Faulkner, grandchildren Dion (Sue), Darlene (Jim), Diane (Jamie), Keith, Heidi (Derek), Kelly (Les), Janine (Roger), 12 great-grandchildren Shannon (Chantel), Alexandria (Ted), Samantha (Justin), Amanda (Jamie), Myles, Kyle, Andrew, Danielle, Taylor, Brittany, Katie-Lynn, Brooke, 2 great-great-grandchildren Zachary, and Ryland, 2 sisters Blanche Pope and Melba Pardy (Winston), 1 brother Harold Flynn, a number of nieces and nephews as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. HANCOTT, Leslie
Passed away peacefully at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Tuesday, September 29th 2015 Mr. Leslie E. Hancott in his 95th year. Predeceased by wife Ivy, parents Thomas and Elizabeth Hancott, brothers Malcolm and James Hancott and sister Mildred Wheaton. Left with loving memories are his sons Gilmore (Donna) of Gander, Everett (Audrey) of Kitchener, ON., Derrick (Freddie) of Mornville, AB., sister Cavell Snow of Noggin Cove. Grandchildren Nadine (Kunle), Adrian (Catherine), Jamie (Kathy), Jeff (Crystal) 12 great grandchildren. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at the Pentecostal Church Carmanville. Funeral service was held Thursday October 1st at 2:00 pm with Pastor Durdle officiating. Interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Carmanville. Passed away suddenly at her residence on Sunday, September 13th, 2015, Elizabeth "Betty” Harris, age 77. Predeceased by her parents Beatrice and Douglas Power, husband Donald, brothers Ronald and Cyril Power. Left to mourn with loving memories are her sons Tony (Kathy), Scott (Angela), Doug (Bonnie), Bernie, brothers Douglas and John, sisters Laura Mills, Rosemary Connors, grandchildren Donald, Michael, Becky, Adam, Samantha, Daniel, Jenny, Ashley, Megan, Jaimee, Bernie, great-grandchildren Emily, Dylan, Aiden, Liam, Teegan, Noah, Georgia, Charlie and a large circle of relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on Sept 15th, 2015, Emma Florence Hunt of Gambo, NL, aged 89. Predeceased by Husband Douglas Hunt, Son Bramwell Hunt, Sons-in-law, Reginald Martin and Walter Hunt; parents Cater and Gertie Paul; sisters, Susannah Paul and Sadie Glover, brother Josiah Paul; brother-in-law, Esau Oram and Colin Glover. Leaving to mourn, daughters Leah Martin, Myra Hunt, Joan Jacobs (Gordon), Gertie Fillier (Hubert); son Boyd Hunt (Jane); daughter-in-law, Phyllis Hunt; 19 grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; sisters Barbara Oram, Jane Harding (Chesley), Leah Davis (Carl); special cousin Josiah Paul (Patience) and a large circle of family and friends. KVASKA, John
Passed away peacefully at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Friday, September 25th, 2015, John Kvaska, age 86. Predeceased by his parents Anna & Andrew Kvaska. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Margaret, daughter Ann Margaret (Dennis) Hussey of Grande Prairie, AB, grandchildren Nicholas, Mya Hussey and a large circle of family and friends. Passed away peacefully at his residence in Gander on Tuesday, September 29th, 2015, George Nolan, age 71. Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Mary Nolan. George will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, humor, and strength of spirit. PENWELL, Martha
Age 83 of Gander, Newfoundland
It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear Mom, Martha Penwell of Gander, on Sunday, September 13, 2015 while attending Mass at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, her favourite place. She was born on the family farm in Foot Cape, Inverness, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to Bessie and Francis MacIntyre on August 24th, 1932. In 1955, Mom married the love of her life, Edward Penwell of Grand Bank, NL. She was tragically widowed in 1967 and left to raise their 6 young children. This was, without a doubt, her greatest accomplishment which brought her years of happiness and joy. Mom was known for her devout faith, compassion, kindness, grace, positive attitude, vibrant personality and beautiful smile and was always ready for a cup of tea and a chat. She was a Mother to more than just her own children and would be the first to help a person in need. She will be forever loved and missed by her children Lynn (Neil) Simms, Jim (Denise), Sandra (Bob) Smith, Cyndi (Darrell Janes), Joanne and Kathy (Jeff) Adey and by her precious grandchildren who adored their Nana: Victoria, Nathan and Joshua Simms; Edward, William and Richard Penwell; Derek and Kara Smith; Stephanie and Noah Adey. Sadly missed by her baby sister Theresa Fyfe (Windsor, ON) and her twin sister Maisie MacLellan (Waltham, MA, USA). Donations in her memory to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Parish. It is with sadness that the family of William James Smith announces his sudden passing at James Payton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL, on Monday September 7, 2015 at the age of 75 years. A retired teacher of 42 years, he had many friends and colleagues in the Eastport area and beyond. Predeceased by son Randy (Barb), he will be dearly missed by his wife of 27 years, Hannah, his daughter Betty (Tim), sons Paul (Tanya), Jim, Trevor (Colleen), Derick (Kim), sisters Maisie, Velma (Dave), brother Baxter (Jean), grandchildren Kristen, Shannon, Joshua, Morgan, Jonathan, Cody, Cameron, Tara, Colby, great grandchildren Grayson, Haley and Peyton as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Noah and Genevieve Trask.
