ADEY, Myra Florence (Frost)
Passed on: September 5th, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Myra Adey announce her passing on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, NL; formerly of Adeytown, NL; at the age of 100 years. Predeceased by husband Anderson; parents, Walter and Jemimah; sisters, Doris, Mae and Stella; brother, Louis; and son, Lewis. Left with fond and loving memories are her son, Donald (Brenda), Gander and daughter-in-law, Inez (Clarenville); grandchildren Maureen (Terry), Gander, Gary (Teena), Gander, Jeff (Kathy), Mount Pearl, Jennifer (Paul), Gander, Catherine (Jason), Boise, Idaho and Sherry (Morley) Clarenville; great-grandchildren Mark, Bradley, Stephen, Brian, Stephanie, Noah, Christopher, Ryan, Matthew, and Ian; sister Barbara, Niagara Falls, Ont; brother Ted, Kingston, Ont. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville and Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral Service took place at Fraser Road United Church, Gander on Monday, September 9th with Interment at Adeytown Cemetery. Donations in Myra's memory may be made to the Adeytown Cemetery Fund.

KNEE, Gordon
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on September 24, 2013, Gordon Knee, age 84 years, of Badger's Quay. Predeceased by his parents; Henry and Louisa Knee, brothers; Chesley, Henry and Baxter, sisters; Trixie and Margaret. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife; Sybil, 3 sons; Danny (Vicky) of Grand Falls, David of Badger's Quay and Duane (Jill) of Calgary, AB., brother; George (Annie) of Alberta, sisters; Eliza Pike of Spaniard's Bay, Marie (Jim Brown) of Sandringham, 3 grandchildren; Cody, Krista and Jaxson and a circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on September 29, 2013 at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. John Nicolle officiating. Inurnment followed at St. Alban's Anglican Church Cemetery, Badger's Quay. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove - Musgrave Harbour. LARSEN, Hans
Passed away suddenly at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander on Friday, September 6th, Hans Christian Larsen, age 70. Predeceased by his mother Elsa Cail and his sister Sonya Hewitt. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Paula, daughters Tracy (Derrick) Winsor of Ottawa, ON; Sherri (Tim) Hazlett of Gander, grandchildren Kelsie, Noah, Lucas, Cody, Brady and Kyle and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service Wednesday, September 11th, at 2:00 P.M. from the Fraser Road United Church. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery. MILLEY, Donald
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on September 21st 2013 Donald Richard Milley in his 84th year. Predeceased by mother and father Meta and Elisha Milley of Exploits, infant sister Dorothy, sister Marjorie Hurst, mother and father-in-law Tryphena and John Raymond , sisters-in-law Eileen, Marjorie and Irene Raymond, brothers-in-law Bill, Bob and Walter Raymond, Bill Goldie, Bill Wiseman, and Fred Martin, daughter-in-law Kay Milley. Left to mourn loving wife Margaret (nee Raymond), daughter Donna (Bruce) Mactavish, sister Lucy (Bramwell) Clarke, sisters-in-law Freda Goldie and Kathleen Martin, grandchildren Mary Milley (Jamie), Shawn Milley (Maisie) and Ian Mactavish, great grandson Kayden. Also a large circle of family and friends. Don was an honorary member of the Gander Masonic Lodge # 16, Arklie Chapter Royal Arch, Masons # 3, Crossroads Preceptory # 80 KT, Central Council Royal and Select Masters # 16 also the Gander Shrine Club. No visitations by request. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service, was held Monday September 23rd from St. Martins Anglican Cathedral, Gander. MURPHY, John
Age 90, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 17, 2013 with his family beside him at the Eckstein Hospice Center in Scottsdale, AZ. Born on July 24, 1923 in St. John's to Francis DeSales Murphy and Bridget Dobbin Murphy, John was raised on Williams St. in the house built by his grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Jean of 63 years; his children Brenda (Glenn), Sean (Michelle) and Paul (Lynette); his grandchildren Marilyn and John; his sisters Catherine and Florence and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Francis and his sister Marion. John was employed by Trans World Airlines for 40 years in Gander, New York and Phoenix. He was dedicated to his career and the highlight was coordinating the trips for TWA for Pope John Paul's visits to the U.S. After his retirement he continued to be a "Goodwill Ambassador" for TWA and was president of the Arizona chapter of the TWA Seniors Club. He was an avid hockey player for half his life and was admired by his teammates and competitors for the way he played the game. His efforts were rewarded with his induction into the Newfoundland Amateur Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995. John and Jean traveled around the world but they really enjoyed their annual trip to Newfoundland each summer to visit with family and friends and enjoy the beautiful scenery and weather. John had a long list of lifetime friends and never forgot a name or a face of people he befriended. He was respected for being a true gentleman. He was a man of faith who believed in the goodness of people. The family wishes to extend its grateful appreciation for the staff of Hospice Eckstein Center and the home care staff for their exceptional care and support for John. A joyous funeral mass celebrated by Monsignor Tom Hever was held at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Scottsdale, AZ on Saturday, September 21st. John will be interred in his beloved Newfoundland at a later date.

PARSONS, Audrey
Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Sunday, September 22, 2013 Audrey R. Parsons age 90 years of Lumsden. Predeceased by her husband Samuel, step-daughter; Annie and grandson Densil. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son;Wayne (Linda) of Edmonton, AB, daughters; Flora Goodyear of Gander and Judy (Bill Hillier) of Newtown, grandchildren; Billy, Dawn, Jerry, Phillip, Sheila, Karen, Edward (Shelly), Deane (Dolph), Angela (David), Robert (Kasonia), Jamie (Jacqui) and Dean, great-grandchildren; London, Brian, Nicolle, Austin, Douglas, Ethen, Brooklyn and Jake, special niece; Jean Rideout of Musgrave Harbour and a large circle of other relatives and friends. SAMSON, Carol Ann
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Sept 19th 2013 Carol Ann Samson age 59 years. Predeceased by mother Hazel Francis Delaney (Nee Penney). Left with loving memories are her father Michael B. Delaney, husband Donald Vern Samson, son William Donald of Pictou, NS, brothers Ron (Linda) Delaney of Castelman, ON, Michael (Annie) Delaney of Gander, NL, Eugene (Shirley) Delaney Glovertown, NL, Terry (Madeline) Delaney of Gander, NL, Desmond (Bonnie) Delaney of Gander, NL, sisters Yvonne (Wayne) Johnson of Cambellton, NL, Ursula (Ronald) Cashin of Goose Bay, NL, grandchildren Ethan and Ryan Samson. Also a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral Service was held Monday, September 23rd at 11:00 A.M. At St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gander. It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our loved one on Sunday, September 15, 2013, Mrs. Evelyn M. Stokes of Deadman's Bay in her 61st year. Predeceased by father Edgar Goodyear and grandparents Mark and Violet Goodyear. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Gerald, mother Wilhelmina and step-father Albert Sturge of Wesleyville; two sons, Shane (Yvonne) of Deadman's Bay and Craig of Gander, two daughters, Denise Whalen (Jeremy) of Gander, Dana Chaulk (Darrell) of Deadman's Bay, two brothers, Maxwell Goodyear (Jane) of Deadman's Bay, Cluney Goodyear (Linda) of Conception Bay South, 10 grandchildren Robyn, Myles, Devon, Amber, Riley, Daniel, Shelby, Shamus, Jasmine and Phoneix, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on Friday, September 20th from the Salvation Army Citadel in Musgrave Harbour with Majors Barry and Donna Anstey officiating. WHITE, Lillian Grace
June 9, 1950 - September 23, 2013

It is with deep sorrow and sadness the White & Jane's family announce the loss of a dear family member. Lillian suddenly passed away in her 63rd year at Brookfield Health Centre, on Monday September 23, 2013. Lillian formally lived in Badger's Quay at Safe Harbour Square with her parents Baxter and Violet Janes (deceased). With her husband Maxwell White (deceased) and two children, Labrador City is where she called home. Lillian was deeply loved and will be forever missed and remembered by her daughter Monica White of Labrador City, son Jason White of Labrador City, brothers; Thomas (Pearl) of Musgravetown, Ross (Pamela) of Badger's Quay and Baxter of Labrador City; sister Pearl (Rayfield) Churchill of Wesleyville; grandchildren Julia and Bailey Roul, Terrianna White and a large circle of family and friends.
