Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on Saturday, September 1, 2012 Evelyn Jessie Hoyles age 82 years of Pool's Island. Predeceased by her parents George and Pauline Janes; brother Fred Janes and son-in-law James Burry. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Lester; sons Robert (Donna) of Mt. Pearl, Clarence of Wabush, Dennis of Mt. Pearl and Colin (Trudy) of Pool's Island; daughters Nina Burry of Pool's Island, Emma Gale (Lloyd) of Pool's Island, Sandra Nash (Gordon) of Mt. Pearl, Pamela Fifield (Peter) of Mt. Pearl and Daphne Hunt (Harry) of St. John's; brothers Clarence Janes (Angela) of Goulds and Cyril Janes (Betty) of St. John's; grandchildren Paula (Leonard), Jason (Kierstan), Cory, Darrell (Cindy), Ryan, Michael, Jerry(Christa), David, Kelli (Dave), Lori (Robert), Ashley (Mark), Travis, Allison and Jamie; great-grandchildren Jacob, Taylor, Garrett, Carter, Kylie, Halle, Sam, Landon, Jessi, Henry, Victor, Harley, Myah and Clarke; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at St. James Anglican Church, Pool's Island on Monday, September 3, 2012 with Rev. John Nicolle officiating. BUTT, Ruby
Passed peacefully away at the Masonic Park Nursing Home, Mount Pearl, on September 2nd 2012 Ruby Butt age 86 years. Predeceased by husband Dorman John (Jack); daughter Lori Slaney (nee Butt), parents Allan and Prudence Freeman, brothers Archibald, Frank, Austin, William, Reginald, Clifford and Harry; sisters Dorothy and Florence. Left with loving memories are her daughter Florence (Jim) Paterson of Moncton, sons Jack (Sandra) of Iroquois, ON, Terry of Paradise, Craig (Paula) of Portugal Cove, son-in-law Con Slaney, Gander, grandchildren Rodney, Douglas, Jason, Andrew and Brian, great-grandchildren Marcus, Anna, Keenan, Kensington, Emily, Olivia, and Katelynn. Also a large circle of relatives and friends, and special friend and care-giver Jennetta Dawe of Gander. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. CASEY, John
Passed away on September 3, 2012 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, John Casey in his 76th year. Leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, Ruth and Beatrice of Burnside, Theresa and family of Clarenville. Funeral service was held at St. Gabriels's Roman Catholic Church, St. Brendan's by Father Tom Duffenais and Reverend Paul Thoms. Internment was at Roman Cathloic Cemetery St. Brendan's. Funeral arrangements by Oram's Funeral Homes, Glovertown.

ARNOLD, Mildred Amelia
Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Health Center on September 4, 2012 in the presence of her family, Mildred Amelia Arnold age 97 of Oram's Birchview Manor in Glovertown and formerly of Traytown. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Richard and sisters Loretta and Lillian, She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, son Ralph (Audrey); daughter Geraldine (Frank); grandchildren, Hilary (Debbie), Ivan, Dean (Wanda); great grandchildren, Shawn (Nikki), Richard (Dana), Gerri-Lynn (Evan), Ivan Blake; Great Great Grandchildren, Zachary, Richard, and Claire, sister Eileen and extended family, Lester (Sylvia, Gavin, Cleona, Shelby; several nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends. Funeral service was held Friday, September 7th from Faith United Church in Glovertown with Reverend Paul Vardy officiating. Interment followed at the Olivet Church cemetery in Traytown.

CHAULK, Alfreda
Passed peacefully away at James Paton Hospital on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012, Alfreda Blanche Chaulk - 91 years - of Aspen Cove. Predeceased by her parents, Silas and Helena Tulk; husband Chesley and daughter Patsy; brothers Baxter, Bert, Wilson, Hiram and sister Gertie. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons, Terry (Phyllis) and Danny (Sheila); five grandchildren, Terry-Ann, Johnny, Lori, Deon and Darren; six great grandchildren, Bobbi-Jon, Parker, Madison, Briana, Evan and Dakota, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service took place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Aspen Cove, on Friday September 7th, 2012 with Brother Roy Watton officiating. Internment followed at the Cemetery of Jehovah's, Aspen Cove.

GILLINGHAM, Wallace
Passed away at the Health Sciences Center in St. John's on Saturday, September 8th, 2012, Mr. Wallace Gillingham of Noggin Cove in his 62nd year. Predeceased by his parents Garfield and Meta, and infant son. Left with loving memories are his wife Barbara, son Blaine (Marsha) of Pouch Cove, daughter Heather (Colin) of Port Blandford, three brothers Wilbert (Nellie) of Noggin Cove, Cyril (Nellie) of Noggin Cove and Norman of Noggin Cove, four sisters Bonnie (Donald) of Gander, Jean (Norman) of Lewisporte, Doreen (Arthur) of Musgrave Harbour, and Cynthia of Gander, three grandchildren Kate, Chloe, and Peyton. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2:00 pm from United Church, Carmanville. Interment United Church Cemetery in Noggin Cove with Rev. Parsons officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Born in Gambo, NL on February 17, 1919, passed away at James Paton Memorial Hospital with her family at her side on Sunday, September 9, 2012. Louisa is survived by her loving children, Gus (Flo), Jim (Betty), Jean (Wade), Frances (Woodrow). Grandchildren - Roxanne (Edmund), Michelle, Howie (Sarah), Lesley, Kurt (Geraldine), Mark (Krista). Precious Great-Grandchildren - Joshua, Hannah and Ella. Predeceased by her husband Joshua, parents Mark and Jane Green, brothers and sisters. Funeral services to take place in Gambo at the Emmanuel United Church on Thursday September 13 at 2:00 PM. Interment at the Emmanuel United Church Cemetery. Resting at Pritchett's Funeral Home, visitation times: 3PM - 9 PM Tuesday, 10 AM to 9 PM Wednesday, and 10 AM to Noon on Thursday.

ABBOTT, Sterling
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of their loved one Sterling Lawrence Abbott, aged 39 yrs of Musgrave Harbour at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Monday, September 10, 2012. Pre-deceased by his grandparents Max and Bessie Mouland. Sterling leaves to mourn his loving wife Marie, 3 darling sons Daniel (11 yrs), Terrence (9 yrs) and Hunter (5 yrs), parents Lawrence and Joyce, parents-in-law Randy and Madeline Mouland, grandparents Ned and Alvie Abbott, two brothers Draper (Melanie) and Jason (Tammy), sister-in-law Sabrina (Tim), nephew Brady, niece Briana as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. WALBOURNE, Sean Gerard

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 after a short but courageous, battle with cancer at St. Clare's Hospital, Sean Walbourne of Mount Pearl (formely of Gander) in his 55th year. Predeceased by his parents: Andy and Nora Walbourne; Brother: Andy; sister-in-law: Ann. Leaving to mourn his loving wife: Vicki (Hoven); son: Stephen (Chelsey); precious little granddaughter: Madison; brothers and sister; Michael (Barbara), Gary (Beckie), and Lois; two special sisters-in-law Marg (Wayne) and Paula (Les) and a large circle of other family and friends. Departed this life on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 84. Predeceased, in 1998, by the love of his life, Lily Louise (Norris) after 47 wonderful years of marriage. He was born in Wesleyville, Bonavista Bay in 1928. Predeceased by his parents Frederick and Lavinia; brother: Alex (Ella); sisters: Neta, Alicia Brown and Millicent (Robert) Granter. He will be forever missed by his children: Wayne (Jean), Valleyfield; Calvin, St. John's; Beverley (Warwick) Burridge, Kitchener, ON; grandchildren: Tabitha (Jason) Burridge-MacDonald, Port Elgin, ON., Stephen Burridge (Shawn), Canberra, Aus., Shannon (Jerry) Knee, Gander; Sheena Best (Jason), Grand Falls-Windsor and Sean Best (Johanna), Vancouver, BC; great grandchildren: Lily Knee and Kate Burridge-MacDonald; brothers: Bill (Neta), St. John's, Gladstone (Audrey), Wesleyville, Fred (Louise), Clarenville, Albert (Marguerite), Wesleyville and Bob (Daphne), St. John's; sisters: Joyce, Mount Pearl, Marcella (Major William) Hopkins, St. John's, Irene (Walter) Jacobs, Badger's Quay; brother-in-law: Bax Brown, St. John's; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Health Center on September 17, 2012 in the presence of her family, Robena Mary Skiffington age 61 of Gambo. Robena was predeceased by her mother Grace, father Jacob, daughter Elaine and brother Verdon. She leaves to mourn with loving memories, husband Garland, daughter Ledona (Rick), sons Daren (Natasha), Rory, Leroy (Michelle), and Sheldon (Susan); Grandchildren, Keshia, Brittany, Shania, Kierra, Kyle S, Karly, Kelsey, Cody, Faith, and Kyle C; Four sisters and one brother; several nieces and nephews, and a circle of friends. GLOVER, Clayton Hubert
June 14, 1955 - September 23, 2012
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Clayton Glover. Clayton passed away in his home at the age of 57 years with his loving family at his side. He is predeceased by his parents Norm & Violet Glover and mother-in-law, Lucy Pickett. Clayton will be greatly missed by his wife Ann, daughters Amy (Jamie Cutler), Debbie (Kevin Keats), son Curtis (Sabrina Easton) 7 Grandchildren; Lucas, Dawson, Paris, Logan, Jasmine, Ian and Skyler. Also left to mourn are his sister Sylvia, brothers; Lester, Scott, Paul and Glen, father in-law Straff Pickett and a large circle of family and friends. Clayton was loved by many, he will be greatly missed. Resting at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity, B. Bay from where his funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 26 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. John E .K. Nicolle officiating. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Donna (Nee-Theriault), son Troy of Lloydminster, AB; daughter Cynthia of Gander, brothers Ches (Jane) of Brantford, ON; Elvis (Norma) of Pacquet, Derrick (Colleen) of Scarborough, ON; Dan (Ron) Chauvin of Acton, ON; sisters Joan (John Stead) of Cornwall, ON; Daphne (Harry Bowers) of Pacquet, Yvonne of Pacquet, grandchildren Sephira, Tristan and Trey Theriault, great-grandchild Niiko Batac-Theriault, son-in-law Wayne Parrott of Gander, brother-in-law Arch Ivany of Cornwall, ON; sister-in-law Sue Norman of Musgrave Harbour and a large circle of family and friends. Passed away peacefully at Lakeside Homes on September 26th. 2012, Eldon Hapgood of Burnside in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his Wife, Alma, Left to mourn two Son's: Scott (Emily) Dennis (Paulette) four Grandson's: David, Adam, Jeffrey and Justin, two sisters Ena and Catherine plus a large circle of relatives and friends. A special thank you goes to the staff at Lakeside Homes for their loving care for our dad. Thanks to Oram's Funeral Home, the Burnside ACW, pallbearers, readers, the Burnside 50+ Club and all other family and friends for their support during this time. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are 1 son; Noah William (Marie) of Pound Cove, 1 daughter; Mildred Kean of Labrador City with whom she resided, 3 sisters; Gertrude Lane of Eastport, Edith Hunter of Grand Falls-Windsor, Mildred King of Clarenville, 5 grandchildren; Donald, Douglas (Karen), Gregory, Jeffery, David (Tammy Coward), 3 great-grandchildren; Justin, Adam, Kimberly and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Sir Winston Churchill Wing of the Caribou Veteran's Pavilion, Gordon Pennell, aged 89 years, Predeceased by wife Ivy (nee Bown) (2010); sister Mary Hale of Twillingate; his parents Ethel and George Pennell. Leaving to mourn are his children, daughters: Joan (Fred Squires), Lynda Holden; sons: Lloyd (Tara), and Paul (Cathy). Also leaving to mourn, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, special friends, Shirley and Vick Biddiscombe, as well as other friends and relatives, especially his "other family" who took care of him at the Veteran's Pavilion. Funeral service took place on Thursday, October 4th, 2012. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Gordon's memory to The Jim Shields Memorial Garden, c/o The Veteran's Pavilion, St. John's, NL, or, Wesley United Church, St. John's, NL.
