BURTON, Christine
Passed away at St. Clare’s Hospital in St. John’s on Saturday, September 1, 2007, Mrs. Christine Burton of Musgrave Harbour in her 51st year. Predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Daisy Pardy. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Colin; son, Jason (Susan) of Stratford, ON; one brother, Edgar Pardy (Yvonne) of Musgrave Harbour; two sisters, Marie White of Hare Bay and Bernice Guy (Sterling) of St. John’s; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Christopher; nine nephews and nieces, Tonya, Diana, Perry, Crystal, Frederick, Quinton, Glen, Colin and Marlene; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on September 5th from the Salvation Army Citadel in Musgrave Harbour. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour with Majors Barry and Donna Anstey officiating. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home in Musgrave Harbour-Wesleyville.

WHITE, John Patrick
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, September 2, 2007, John White of St. Brendan’s, age 81 years. Predeceased by his infant daughter, Margaret; parents, Simon and Mary; and brother, Gordon. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted wife of 56 years, Annie; 11 children, Martina (Mike Power), Phyllis (Danny Brenton), Gordon, Jerome (Lenora), Ronald (Daphne), Shirley (Ed Walsh), Junior (Denise), Florence (Gordon Hynes), Helen (Gerry Walsh), Patricia (Sea Pardy and Ruby (Thomas Kean); grandchildren, Michael, Keri-Lynn (Toby), Jason (Denise), Jonathan, Jelyssa, Ashley, April, Aimee, Marc, Leanne, Maria (Bernard), Christopher, Courtney, Caitlyn, Lacey, Justin, Jamie, Hilary, Jordan and Andrew; brothers, Gregory and Ronald and Aunt Lizzie Walsh; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. HUNTER, Theophilus
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on September 4, 2007, Mr. Theophilus Hunter, formerly of Salvage, age 88 years. Predeceased by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Marie (Brown); daughter, Bonnie ( Wayne) Hewitt of Gander; grandchildren, Kristy (Peter) Frampton of Iqaluit, NU, Terri Lynn (Jimmy) MacDonald of Halifax, NS and Natasha of Gander; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Jacob Frampton, who he dearly loved. Funeral service was held on September 7th at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Salvage. Interment at Anglican Cemetery, Salvage. BARRON, Catherine
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on September 6, 2007, Catherine Barron (Rose), age 96 years. Predeceased by her husband, John Barron -1985, first husband, Charles Rose-1959, three brothers, one sister and son-in-law, Raymond Whalen-2001. Left with fond and loving memories are sons, William of Toronto, ON, Charles (Diane) of Bancroft, ON, Allan (Muriel) of Gander; daughter, Louise Whalen of Sweet Bay; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. WALSH, Josephine
In loving memory of Josephine Walsh who passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by her husband, Herbert and grandson, Ian Laing. Passed away at Grand Prairie, Alberta on Saturday, September 8, 2007, Stephen Goodyear of Musgrave Harbour, in his 21st year. Predeceased by his grandparents, Leamon and Ena Flynn. EASTMAN, Marjorie (nee Lambert)
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family on Monday, September 10, 2007, Marjorie Eastman (Lambert), aged 76 years. Predeceased by her husband, James. Left to mourn her daughters, Joan (Jerry), Joy; sons, Rick (Donna), terry (Philomena), Jim (Ranessa); granddaughters, Jennifer, Kimberley, Sophia; grandsons, Michael and Matthew; great-granddaughters, Briana and Brooklyn; brother, Winston (Elizabeth); sister, Mae (Clyde deceased); special sister-in-law, Jean (Christa and Troy); also a large number of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; caregivers, Mary Hobbs and Pauline Kelly; special friends, Emma, Florence, Daphne, Carol Ann and many more. GREEN, Georgia
While at her home with loving family by her side, Georgia Ann Green passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 10, 2007 in her 80th year. Born on November 7, 1927 in Victoria, Carbonear, Newfoundland, better known as Mom, she was loved and adored by her three daughters, Dianne Scobel (Frank) of St. Catharines, Kay Dawson (Brian) of Kitchener, and Sherri Heeg (Sybren) of Port Colborne. Amazingly nurturing Nanny to her seven grandchildren, Cindy Pestrak (Joe), Renee and Matt Scobel, Brianne and Corporal John Dawson, Nathan and Alana Heeg. Treasured great-grandmother to Austin and Ashley Pestrak. Predeceased by her cherished and loving husband, John Green (1989), parents, Pastor George and Mary (Mame) Parsons; and brother, Jack. She will be sadly missed by her sisters, Robina Patterson, Rhoda Gill (Lester), Gwen Dysart (Bob); and brother, Gilbert Parsons (Kay), as well as many nieces and nephews. Nanny was loved by all her family as she loved them with all her heart. She was taken from us too early; she was our inspiration and our guiding light. She will be deeply missed but her love and caring will never to forgotten. Funeral details were entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Georgia’s family received visitors at Central Gospel Temple, St. Catharines. A funeral service to celebrate her life was held on September 12th. After a short reception, interment took place at Dorchester Union Cemetery in Dorchester, ON. Georgia’s family wishes to thank all those who have been supportive in her desire to celebrate the end of her life with dignity in her home. Special thanks got to CCAC and Para-Med staff. Especially Kay Pritchett, you were our rock during this difficult time. Thanks also to Dr. Sandra Hartman and nurses, Jim and Irene. Pritchett, Kenneth Reginald
Passed away unexpectedly at Glenwood on September 12, 2007, Kenneth Reginald Pritchett at the age of 73. He leaves to mourn his wife Rita (nee Warren), five daughters, Melissa Pritchett (Richard) of Alberta, Marina John (Roger) of Glenwood, Christine Burt (Steven) of Alberta, Bernice Pritchett of Gander, and Yvonne DeCaire (Leon) of Winnipeg; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters: Beaulah Horlick (Gordon) of Dunville, Louise Pritchett (Bruce) of Gambo, Faye Butler (Jack) of Alberta, and Linda Dwyer (Jack) of Gambo; and one brother, Augustus Pritchett (Nell) of Gambo. Predeceased by his parents, Annie and Augustus Pritchett; brother, Nathan Pritchett (Shirley), sister, Zita Noseworthy (Jim), and brother, Baxter Pritchett (Phyllis). Rested at Anglican Church in Glenwood and Pritchett’s Funeral Home in Gambo. Memorial Service was held at the Anglican Church in Gambo on Sunday, September 16th at 2 p.m. .

KNEE, Augustus (Dec.12, 1909 – Sept. 13, 2007)
Passed away at 2 East, Escasoni on September 13, 2007 in his 98th year, formerly of Badgers Quay, Bonavista Bay. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (Humphries) 1999; infant son Wilson; brothers: Frederick, Edgar and Samuel. Left to mourn two daughters: Ruth Sim (Richard), Boiling Springs, NC and Katie Haws, St. John’s; one son Jack (Lottie) Gander; seven grandchildren: Gerald, Fla.; Richard, Mary, Cathy, Jean, N.C; Derrick, Gander; and Jim, ON; sister, Mary Acreman, Mary’s Harbour, Lab.; several nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Passed peacefully away on Sunday, September 16, 2007 in the presence of her loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, Martina Broderick, aged 78 years. Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Ellen Mackey; husband, Michael and son, Michael. Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on September 16, 2007, Florence Parsons of Indian Bay, aged 88 years. Predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Eunice Pickett; husband, Alfred George Parsons; three grandchildren, Keith, Randy and Bradley. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her two sons, Seymour (Margaret) of Indian Bay, Ben (Barbara) of Centreville; six daughters, Amelia Bolt of English Harbour East, Rosie Hawco (Mike) of Holyrood, Hilda Breen (Tom) of Mount Pearl, Esther Alexander of Alberta, Pearl Hunt of Trinity, B.B., Geraldine Rogers (Cliff) of Toronto, ON; one sister, Mary Jane Hunt of Indian Bay; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. RYAN, Fred
Passed peacefully away on September 17, 2007, Fred Ryan in his 61st year of Brampton, Ontario (formerly of Gander, NL). Fred is survived by his three children, Jason, Kim and Kelly; four grandchildren, his sister, Joyce, brother, Ken and his father, Earl. He will be greatly missed by all.

COLES (Edith) Nina
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on September 19, 2007 (Edith) Nina Coles, age 68 years. Predeceased by loving husband, George Foster, parents, Humphrey and Nora, brothers, Donald, Alonzo, Fred, Henry and Humphrey; sisters, Jessie Nippard, Alice Sweetapple and Bessie Coles. Left with loving memories are her loving companion, George Johnson; son, Vincent (Tammy) Coles, daughters, Judy (Brent) Jenkins, Janis (Ken) Nichols; grandchildren, Whitney, Jenna, Geoffrey and Kyle will sadly miss their Nanny Coles; sisters, Stella Waterman, Rita West, Nellie Gillingham, brother, Gordon Coles; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, and their families and other relatives and friends are also filled with sorrow with her passing as well. Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital on September 21, 2007, surrounded by his loving family, Simon Ward, aged 89 of Gambo. Also brothers, Leonard (Nicey) of Hare Bay, Ray (Melvina) of Lewisporte, Douglas (Phyllis) of Springdale; sisters, Minnie Brown (Fred) of Gambo, Judy Blagdon of Gambo, Rachel Wiseman of Hare Bay; sisters-in-law, Pansy Wiseman of Gander, Violet Roberts of Triton; brothers-in-law, John (Kathleen) of Dover, Wilson (Linda) of Jamestown, Bruce (Vera) of Toronto, Cecil of Toronto, Alfred of South Brook, Bob (Kathleen); and many nieces and nephews and a very large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at the Salvation Army Citadel, Hare Bay on October 3rd with Captains Lillian and Austin Randell offficating assisted by Colonels Grace and Cecil Cooper. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Lockyers Bay. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Oram’s Funeral Home.

POWELL, Sarah Nellie
Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on September 29, 2007, Sarah Nellie Powell, age 94. Predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Martha Ann Matchim; husband, Norman; daughter, Joan; sisters, Alma and Dorothy; and brothers, Owen, Joseph, Maxwell and Wilfred. Nellie will live in the hearts and memories of her son, Eugene (Marjorie); daughters, Norma (Kyrl), Alma ( Garfield), Patricia (Steve), Olive (Brian), Marilyn, Kaye, Yvonne (terry); son-in-law, Peter Hoyles; sisters, Nora and Louise; sister-in-law, Sadie, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral took place at the United Church at Happy Adventure on October 1st. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery.
