KELLY, Margaret (nee White)
Passed peacefully away on September 3, 2004 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Margaret Kelly (nee White) of Cull's Harbour at the age of 103 years, 11 months. Predeceased by her husband, John in 1976 and son, Maurice in 1920. Left with fond and loving memories are her sister, Alice; nephew, Frank Kelly, nieces, Elizabeth Maher, Laura Kelly, Dolores Doody, Geraldine Sims and Margaret Parsons (Martin), and all her nieces and nephews of the White family, along with a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service was held on September 6 th from the Sacred Heart Church, Cull's Harbour with Bishop Martin Currie officiating. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cull's Harbour. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Oram's Funeral Home, Glovertown.

DOVE, Gloria
Passed peacefully away on September 4, 2004 at Lakeside Homes in Gander, Mrs. Gloria Dove in her 76th year. Mrs. Dove is predeceased by her parents, Annie and Herman Archibald of Harbour Grace; seven brothers, two sisters, mother-in-law, Mary Dove; sister-in-law, Edwina Pearce of Harbour Grace; and special granddaughter, Danielle. Left to mourn is her husband, Donald of Gander; three daughters, Marie Dove of Halifax, Donna and Dwight Stanley of Gander, Judy and Larry Bartlett of Flin Flon, Manitoba; granddaughter, Leslie (Charles) of Vancouver; grandson, Steven (Carolyn) of Stanley, BC; brothers, Albert Archibald and family of Toronto, Lloyd Archibald and family of Halifax; brother-in-law, Lloyd (Dinah) Dove and family of Glovertown; sisters-in-law, Louise Archibald and family of Harbour Grace; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Donations may be made in her memory to the Kidney Dialysis Unit in Gander. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Private service was held on September 9 th at St. Martin's Anglican Church, Gander. Inurnment at All Saint's Cemetery, Gander.

KEAN, Gwendolyn
Passed peacefully away on September 4, 2004 at Brookfield Hospital, Gwendolyn Kean of Pound Cove, age 74. Predeceased by parents, Reuben and Elsie Tiller; brother, John Tiller; sisters, Hattie Lane and Jane Harvey; step-sisters, Emma Stokes, Rose Humphries and Carrie Brown. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Oliver; sons, Eric of Pound Cove, John (Shirley) of Badger's Quay, Guy (Nancy) of Wesleyville and Rodney (Maxine) of Ladle Cove; daughters, Linda (Harry Bishop) of Wesleyville, Olga (Clifford Sheppard) of Pool's Island and Elsie (Gary Boland) of St. John's; sisters, Amelia Mullett of Wesleyville, Gertrude Lodge of Bonavista, Mollie (Pastor Clayton Harnum) of Bishop's Falls and Carrie (Arthur Tulk) of Mount Pearl; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service was held on September 7th at the Anglican Church, Pound cove with Rev. V. Reid officiating.. Interment followed from the Anglican Cemetery, Pound Cove. Donations in her memory may be made to the ALS Society. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.

OLDFORD, Wallace
Passed away suddenly on Friday, September 10, 2004, Mr. Wallace Oldford of Salvage, Bonavista Bay, age 80 years. Predeceased by his wife, Dora (Squire), brothers, Bert and Bill and sister, Mamie. Left to mourn his son, Jim and daughter-in-law, Pauline Duke, grandchildren, Jonathan, Seamus, and Katie, sister, Rebecca Sooley, also cherished members of the Oldford and Penny families, and the family of the late Mrs. Gwen Brown. Funeral at St. Stephen's Church, Salvage on Monday, September 14th at 2:30 pm. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Salvage.

SIMMS, Wes
Passed away with great spirit, courage and dignity at the Health Science Centre in St. John's on September 11, 2004, Mr. Wes Simms of Gander in his 66th year. Wes was a very successful businessman who dearly loved his native province and its people. He is predeceased by his parents, Max and Emmeline Simms. Left with warm and loving memories are his wife, Mickey and their daughter, Erin; daughters, Andrea (Brad Coleman) of B.C., Karen (Rob Brouwer) of B.C., sons, Max (Mary) of Mt. Pearl, Ken (Cindy) of Vancouver; brother, Len and (Sandra); grandchildren, Ian, Kirk, Nathan, Ben, Keneille, Reid, Melanie, Kyla, Colin, Darryl; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral mass was held on September 12th at St. Joseph's Parish, Gander. Cremation to follow. Donations in his memory may be made to the Lion's Max Simms Camp. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

TUCKER, Ida Pearl
Passed peacefully away on September 11, 2004 at Brookfield Hospital, Ida Pearl Tucker , of Newtown, age 70 years. Predeceased by her parents, Florence and Llewelyn Boland; infant daughters, Ida and Debbie, brothers, Jerry and Ellis. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Ronald, daughters, Diane Rideout (Harvey) of Newtown, Cathy Tiller (David) of Newtown; grandchildren, Corey (Tracey), Jason (Claralee), Bradley, Ronnie (Sammy-Jo), Davie (Anita); sisters, Minnie Vincent (Raymond) of Newtown, Leah Norris (James) of Trinity, Shirley Janes (John Kean) of Badger's Quay; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on September 13th at Trinity United Church, Newtown with Rev. Miriam Bowlby officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Newtown. Donations in her memory may be made to The Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove-Musgrave Harbour.

FELTHAM, Hubert
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family, at his home in Glovertown on Saturday, September 11, 2004, Hubert Feltham in his 76th year. Left to mourn his loving wife, Nellie (House); two sons, Melvin (Pauline) and Peter (Jocklyn); one daughter, Debbie (Lorne Janes); four grandchildren, Robert Feltham, Natalie (Michael Hunter), Andrew and Kevin Janes; one great-grandson, Trayton Hunter; two brothers, Dawson (Mary) and Don (Joan); several nephews and nieces; and man other relatives and friends. Funeral took place from Faith United Church on Tuesday, September 14th at 2 o'clock with Rev. Paul Vardy officiating. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Oram's Funeral Home, Glovertown.
A gentle man laid to rest.

WOODFORD, Mary Bridget
Passed away suddenly on September 14, 2004 at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Mary Bridget Woodford in her 68th year. Left to mourn their sad loss are her husband, Louis; sons, Patrick (Glenda), Brian (Gail), Louis (Stephanie), Michael (Cindy); brother, Joe; sisters, Geraldine, Anita, Phyllis and Madeline; grandchildren, Kyle, Renee, Alexander, Ryan, Shane, Cody and Ashley; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on September 20th at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic church, Gander. Funeral arrangements entrust to Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

HILLIER, Carl
Passed peacefully away on September 18, 2004 at Brookfield Hospital, Carl Hillier of Newtown, B. Bay, age 76 years. Predeceased by his daughter, Vina; granddaughter, Jennifer; grandson, William; parents, Jesse and Susan Hillier; brothers-in-law, Charlie Humphries and Cyril Humphries. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Louise; two sons, William (Judy) of Newtown, Carl (Judy) of Newtown; four daughters, Jeanette (Jesse) of Valley field, Kathleen (Don) of Newtown, Doris (Phillip) of Newtown, Shirley (Lawrence) of Badger's Quay; two brothers, Abel (Mildred) of Newtown, Leo (Jean) of Conne River; three sisters, Martha Humphries of Newtown, Doris Humphries of Wesleyville, Daisy (Harold Perry) of Newtown; 14 grandchildren, Gaye, Chris, Lee Ann, Darrell, Lisa, Lynette, Glenn, Mitchell, Sharlene, Karen, Lawrence, Gail; eight great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Samantha, Brianna, Bethany, Matthew, Jonathan, Evan, Spencer; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on September 21 st at the United church, Newtown with Rev. M. Bowlby officiating, assisted by Pastor Pittman. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Newtown. Donations in his memory may be made to the L.A. Miller Centre, St. John's. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.

COLLINS, John S.
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on September 18, 2004, John S. Collins, age 75 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Maisie, sons, Kevin (Elsie) of Dover, NL, Truman (Elizabeth) of Ottawa, ON, Lorne of Gander, NL, Janice (Gerald) of Halifax, NS, Glena (Fred) of Fort McMurray, AB and Kelly (Marty) of Fort McMurray, AB; grandchildren, Johnny, Andrew, Grant, Liam, Kaitlyn, Tracy, Melanie, Jolene, Charlene, Troy, Eric and Ian. Funeral service was held on September 21st at St. Martin's Anglican Church, Gander, followed by interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Hare Bay. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

RYAN, David
Passed away after a tragic accident on September 19, 2004, David Ryan , age 47 years. Left with loving memories are his wife and best friend, Marilyn; son, David of St. Brendan's, daughter, Tara (Dion) of St. John's; brother, Joe (missing after accident) (wife Yvonne) of St. Brendan's, Kenneth (Paula) of St. John's, sisters, Beverley (Ron) of St. Brendan's, Linda of St. John's Shirley (Don of Sandringham, Joanna (Bob) of Upper gullies; parents, Joseph and Cecilla of St. Brendan's; mother-in-law, Mae Aylward of St. Brendan's; also a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rested at Gabriel's Catholic church, St. Brendan's. Funeral mass will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made to the St. Brendan's Lion's Club. David Ryan was an avid fisherman who loved his job. He will be sadly missed and loved by all. He was a wonderful husband, son, father and brother. He will be in our hearts forever. RYAN, Joseph Jr.
Tragically taken from us on Sunday, September 19, 2004, Joseph Ryan, Jr., age 42, beloved husband, father, son and brother, in a boating accident along with his brother, David Ryan, age 47, while returning to St. Brendans, NL, after spending several weeks at sea and near the end of his final fishing expedition for this season. Predeceased by father-in-law, Louis Aylward and brother-in-law, Edward. Left with fond and loving memories are his loving wife and best friend, Yvonne; children, Stephen, Jennifer and stepson, Edward; parents, Joseph and Cecilia Ryan; mother-in-law, Mrs. Mae Aylward; sisters, Shirley (Don), Beverley (Ron), Linda, Johanna (Bob); his only remaining brother, Kenneth (Paula); eight sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law; surviving crew members, Ronald Furlong, Donald Brown, Jamie Aylward and Richard Brown; along with many other very close friends and family. Funeral service was held on September 29th at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. Interment at Catholic Cemetery. Donations in his memory can be made to the St. Gabriel's All Grade School, St. Brendan's. A special thank to the SAR team, Bonavista RCMP Detachment and all the local residents of Bonavista for their help in the recovery. Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

LEYTE, Eli John (Lewisporte, NL)
It is with great sadness that the family of Eli John Leyte announce the sudden passing on Monday, September 20, 2004 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Winnie of 60 years; sons, Sam (Dorothy) of Change Islands, Fred (Geraldine) of Brampton, ON., and Ivan (Angela) of Brampton, ON.; daughters, Dora (Sandy) Wall of Pickering, ON., Bessie (Eldon) Wheaton of Labrador City and Christine (Ray) Sweet apple of Glovertown; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Edward James (Annie); sisters-in-law, Phoebe Jane and Bertie; and a large circle of friends and relatives. He was a member of LOL for 59 years. Rev. Yvonne thistle conducted the funeral service September 23rd at Holy Trinity Anglican church, Wings Point. Special thanks for the solo sang by Sandy Cull and organist. Many thanks from the family go out to the people who made donations to the church fund, all the beautiful flowers and a very special thank you to the cousins who prepared and served the delicious food at the church hall.

DAVIS, Nellie Bertha
Nellie's heartbroken family wish to inform all her relatives and friends of her untimely death on September 21, 2004 at Southlake Regional Hospital, New market, ON. Left to mourn are her husband, Hudson; loving daughters, Cynthia (Kirlew) husband, Tony, Judith and Kathryn (Mason) husband, Dennis; sons, Glenn, Ian and Christopher, grandchildren, Tiffany Kirlew, Joseph Ralph and Madeline Mason; her nieces, Anne Locke, husband Fred, and Leeside Norman; nephews, Barry and Anthony Norman; also a host of other relatives and friends in Newfoundland, Ontario, England and the USA. Following cremation, a visitation and funeral home service was held at Taylor's Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive, New market, ON., Saturday, September 25th. A service to celebrate her life will take place in Bethany United church, Carbonear, NL on a date in 2005, yet to be determined. Donations in her memory may be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.

JACOBS, Craig
Passed away tragically at Badger on September 21, 2004, Craig Jacobs of Lumsden, age 31 years. Predeceased by grandparents, Fred and Lavina Best; grandmother, Emily Jacobs; mother-in-law, Hettie Kean; uncle, Wayne Jacobs, aunts, Lilly Best, Millicent Granter, and Alicia Brown. Left to mourn with fond and beautiful memories are his wife, Debbie; darling son, Brandon; stepsons, Trevor of St. John's, Travis of St. John's, T.J. of Lumsden; his parents, Walter and Irene Jacobs of Badger's Quay; sisters, Cathy (Gerry Wicks) of Greenspond, Carla of St. John's; grandfather, John Jacobs of Joe Batts Arm; father-in-law, Kenneth Kean; special nephew, Justin Wicks; and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. Funeral service was held on September 25th at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. John Watton officiating, assisted by Rev. Miriam Bowlby. Interment followed at the Anglican church Cemetery, Badger's Quay. Donations in his memory may be made to the trust fund of Brandon Jacobs at Scotiabank, Wesleyville, NL. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.

BARROW, Frederick I.
Passed peacefully away on September 24, 2004 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Frederick I. Barrow , aged 63 years. Predeceased by his father, Edward Barrow. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Norma; son, Roger (Glenda) of Mount Pearl, NL; stepdaughter, Peggy (Jamie Burge) of Glenwood, NL; grandchildren, Erika, Michenda, Alecia, Bethany and Brandon; mother, Ada; brothers, Bramwell (Sonja) Maple Ridge, BC., Majors Leslie (Bessie) of Clarke's Beach, NL, Ralph of Prince George, BC., Majors Derrick (Judith) of Charlottetown, PEI, and Majors Edward (Luanne) of Toronto, ON; sisters, Patricia Barrow of Gambo, NL., Ruby (Leslie Legge) of Pickering, ON., Geraldine (Edison Waterman) of Gambo, NL., and Janet (Claude Penney) of Western Bay, NL; as well as a large number of relatives and friends. GLOVER, Cyril James
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on September 26, 2004, Cyril James Glover of Trinity, B. Bay, age 76 years. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Frances Glover; son, Wayne,; brothers, Norman, Bela; sister-in-law, Violet; brother-in-law, Art Squires. Left to mourn with fond and beautiful memories are his wife, Emeline; three sons, Brian (Claudette) of Centreville, Rick (girlfriend, Debbie) of Pickering, ON., Tony (Mollie) of Kelligrews; daughter, Tracey (boyfriend, Bobby) of Courtice, ON.; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth of Paradise; two brothers, Jonas (Pearl) of Trinity, Claude (Martha) of Trinity; two sisters, Susie (Harold Cook) of Trinity, Dorothy Squires of Eastport; sister-in-law, Blanche of Trinity; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; always remembered by special friend, Albie Pickett; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. WEST, Walter
Passed peacefully away on September 27, 2004 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Walter West of Ladle Cove, age 85. Predeceased by parents, Moses and Daisy West; mother-in-law, Alice Wellon; father-in-law, Ralph Wellon; brother, Carl William West; son-in-law, William Edison Tulk; grandson, Robert William Joseph West; brothers-in-law, Bert Garland Wellon and Walter Wellon. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Annie; daughters, Betty of Aspen Cove and Patsy (Raymond Peddle) of Ladle Cove; sons, Frederick of Ladle Cove, Wilson (Vangie) of Appleton and Robert (Bonnie) of Ladle Cove; grandchildren, Peggy, Colleen, Marvin, Kimberly, Suzette, Sandy, Belle, Todd, Trent, Tasha, Chantelle and Lori; great-grandchildren, Mark and Steven, Evan and Holly, Scottie and Spencer, William and Charlotte, Joshua and Breanna, Summer and Toby, Robert and Taylor; sisters-in-law, Marion Wellon, Marion B. COFFIN, Wilfred
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on September 29, 2004, Mr. Wilfred Coffin , age 80 years. Predeceased by his wife, Mary (1990); parents, William and Susannah Coffin; sister, Dorothy (Lawrence) Gillett; sister-in-law, Rosalie Coffin. Left with loving memories are his brother, Rev. Cannon James Coffin of St. John's; nephew, Lloyd Bennett (Selina) of Hawkes Bay; aunt, Minnie Primmer of Catalina; sister-in-law, Georgina Dibbon (John) of Burin; special niece, Jacqueline Dibbon of St. Anthony; nephews, Roy (Louise), Wayne (Sandra), Dennis (Tammy) and Wayne (Lori), niece, Heather (Matthew); also a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home with funeral service held on October 2nd at St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Passed away suddenly on September 30, 2004 at Musgrave Harbour, Mr. Jack Mouland of Musgrave Harbour in his 63rd year. Predeceased by his parents, Louise and Bert Mouland and father-in-law, Baxter Tulk. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Daphne; daughter, Deanne Melendy (Rick) of Musgrave Harbour; two brothers, Wade (Eunice) and Brian (Beatrice), both of Musgrave Harbour; one sister, Myra Head (Newman) of Ragged Harbour; one grandchild, Carla; mother-in-law, Myrtice Tulk of Lumsden; sister-in-law, Ivy Gray (Bill); and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on October 3 rd at the United Church in Musgrave Harbour. Interment at the United Church Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home in Musgrave Harbour-Wesleyville.

NORRIS, Israel Ralph
Passed peacefully away on September 30, 2004 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Israel Ralph Norris of Trinity, B. Bay, age 87 years. Predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Jane (Ralph) Norris; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Myrtle Norris; sisters and brothers-in-law, Florence and Samuel Wiseman, Myrtis and Sitnah Brown. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Hamutal; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on October 3rd at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity with Rev. Sam Rose officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Trinity. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity, B. Bay, NL. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.
