ABBOTT, Wilson
Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, October 15th, 2014 at Lakeside Homes in Gander, Wilson Abbott in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his wife Martha, daughter Doreen Foster, brothers Warren Abbott, Lemuel Abbott, Halley Abbott, and sister Laura Chaulk. Left with fond memories are his sons Wilbert Abbott (Bertha) of St. John's, Neil Abbott (Lynn) of Rockwood, Ont, three daughters Louise Smith (Gerald) of Gander, Bonita Wellon (Philip) of Gander and Sharon Hurtubise (Mike) of Winnepeg, Man, brother Perry Abbott (Marion) of Mount Pearl, 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral service took place on Saturday, October 18th, 2014, from Salvation Army Citadel in Musgrave Harbour with Major Betty-Lou Topping officiating. BURRY, Ronald
Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Saturday, October 11, 2014 Ronald Robert Burry age 93 years of Gander (formerly of Greenspond). Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Nellie; daughters Audrey Burry of St. John's and Edna Over(Irving) of Mississauga, ON; step-daughter Patsy Blake(Wilson) of Gander; grandchildren Alliah, Sean, step-grandchildren; Suzanne and Paul; great-grandchildren Olivia, Noah and Nicholas; sisters Alma Carter of St. John's, Mary Eveleigh of Botwood and Ida Winter of Gander; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at The United Church, Greenspond on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 with Rev. Brian Hannon officiating. Interment followed at The United Cemetery, Greenspond. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's, NL on October 14, 2014, Shirley Cramm age 68 years of Wareham, NL. Predeceased by her parents Samuel and Maude Button; husband Augustus Cramm; sister Elizabeth Bursey. Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at James Paton Memorial Hospital on October 13, 2014, Claude Wilberforce Davis, 87 years of age of Trinity. Predeceased by his parents; Chesley Samuel and Minnie Florence (nee Pye) Davis, daughter; Minnie Florence, brother; Allister. FRAIL, Mark Alexander
Mark Alexander Frail
- 65, of Falmouth, Hants County, NS, formerly of Gander, NL, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of George Frail, Centreville and the late Marion (Moses) Frail. He had been employed as an air traffic controller with Transport Canada and Nav Canada in Gander retiring after 30 years as Manager of I.F.R. Training. Mark was very passionate about his community, selflessly giving of his time by volunteering to many groups and organizations. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Gini (Hunter) Frail; a daughter, Kimberly Frail (Geoff Harder), Edmonton, AB; a son, Zachary (Amanda Roy), Moncton, NB; three sisters, Particia Maxwell, Toronto; Eleanor (Arnold) Melanson, Truro; Pamela Frail (Brian Steeves), Wolfville; two grandchildren, Sophie and Simon Harder. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend David Hunter officiating. HUMPHRIES, Oliver W.
October 26, 1923- October 23, 2014

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Oliver Humphries at the golden age of 90 years. He was one of eleven children: seven boys & four girls, born to Rosanna (nee Tiller) & Walter Humphries. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Grace, son-in-law Robert Green; brothers, Lacey and Rueben; sisters, Essie, Daisy, Millicent and Louise. Left to celebrate his life with happy memories are his sons, Wayne (Kathleen), Hayward (Dorothy), Warrick, Peter, Woodrow (Kathy), Todd; daughters, Linda Green and Shawna (Brian) Melindy; brothers, Gordon (Laura), Percy (Masie), Walter (Triffie), Lloyd (Melina); grandchildren, Grant, Curtis, Catherine, Tara, Brittany, Scottie, Geoffrey, Timothy, Jessica, Christopher, Berdina, Deanne and Shanna; great grandchildren, Sarah, Christan, David, Hunter, Lacey, Ethan and Zoe. Oliver was well loved and will be forever remembered by family and friends. Rev George Kean officiated the Funeral service at the Valleyfield Memorial United Church on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment was at the United Cemetery. O'BRIEN, Margaret
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family at James Paton Memorial Hospital on Monday, October 6, 2014, Margaret (Walsh) O'Brien, 81 years of age. Margaret was born to Mary and PJ Walsh in Riverhead, Harbour Grace on Feb 14, 1933. She moved to Gander as a young lady to work, where she meet and fell in love with Pat O'Brien of Carbonear. They married on Sept 27, 1952 and settled in Gander where they raised their family. Predeceased by parents Mary and PJ Walsh, brother Tom Walsh, and husband Pat O'Brien. Left to mourn with loving memories are her children Mary (Bruce) Chaffey, James (Anne), Tom (Christine), Clare (Ted Feltham), and Patty with whom she resided. Her beloved grandchildren Melissa and TJ Feltham, Stephanie(O'Brien) Durston and Natasha O'Brien, Pat O'Brien, and special granddaughter Lori (Chaffey) Anstey. Her beloved great grandchildren Anna, Nora, Brooklyn, Cash and love of her life, Reagan. Also mourning her loss are sister-in-law Ruth Walsh, nieces, special family friends Ann Cull, Bryan White, and her beloved furry friend, Mrs. Beasley. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held at Stacey's Funeral Homes in Gander on Tuesday October 7th from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Wednesday October 8th 10:00 A.M. - 12 Noon. June 1, 1945- October 23, 2014

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie in the presence of her family in her 69th year. She is predeceased by her son Raymond Clyde Welcher; mother Bessie Mahaney; father Roy Mahaney and brother Fred Vaters. Leaving to cherish her memories are her husband Solomon; sons, Dwayne (Mona), Solomon (Tammy), and Derrick; daughters, Juanita (George) Sturge, Theresa Welcher and Wanda Lee (Tommy) Barbour; brothers, Leonard (Eileen) Mahaney, Silas (Florence) Mahaney, Tom Mahaney, Norman Mahaney, Philip (Joan) Mahaney, Garfield (Linda) Mahaney and Willis (Cindy) Mahaney; sisters, Margaret (David) Higdon, Marjorie (Joe) Oliver, Edith Mahaney and Bessie Hunt; grandchildren, Nicole Welcher (Mark), Jackie (Mitchell) Winter, Kayla (Mark) Powell, Gina-Rae (Trevor) Hicks, Johnathan Sturge, Matthew Sturge (Jenna), Noah and Rebecca Spurrell, Alisha, Raymond and Ocean Welcher, Marcus Welcher, Adison and Jake Barbour; great-Grandchildren, Aiden and Gracie Winter, Anna Hicks and Jackson Powell. Elsie was a kind hearted and free spirited woman. She enjoyed baking bread, preparing home cooked meals, doing puzzle books, and spending countless hours with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her big smile and her ability to brighten everyone’s day. Sadly missed but never will be forgotten. "Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen unheard but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear". Visitations were held at Sincerely Yours Funeral Home on October 25 & 26 2014. Rev. Tim Graham officiated the Funeral Service at the St. Alban’s Anglican Church on Monday October 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Interment was at the Anglican cemetery in Badger’s Quay. Flowers were graciously accepted, or as an expression of sympathy donations in her memory were made to the family.
