Passed away suddenly on October 1, 2006 at the
James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Eugene Pike, age
58 years. Predeceased by his parents, Mildred and Herbert John. Left
to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Florence; daughter,
Carla Eugenia of Gander; brothers, Leslie ( Helena ) of Gander, Roy
(Elaine) of Appleton and Fred (Joan) of Gander; as well as many nieces,

HATCHER, Marjorie -
Passed peacefully away on October 6, 2006 at
Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, New-Wes-Valley, Marjorie Hatcher of
Lumsden, age 84 years. Predeceased by her husband, Reginald Hatcher;
baby daughter, Norma Joyce; parents, Solomon and Theresa Smith; sisters,
Grace Smith and Melinda Gibbons. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories
are her daughter, Geraldine Stagg (Scott) of Lumsden; granddaughters,
Norma Lynn Ride out (Terry) of Newtown and Pamela Stagg of St. John's;
two great-grandchildren, Brady and Cameron; sisters, Mina Blackmore of
Gander, Zeta Clarke (Mac) of St. John's and Bertha Scott (tom) of St.

BULL, John W.D. -
Passed peacefully away on October 11, 2006 in the
presence of family and friends, John Walter Dyke Bull (RN), 85
years of age. Predeceased by his parents, Christopher and Adelaide ;
his brothers, Neil and Cyril; and sisters, Clara, Julia and Stella. Left
to mourn his loving wife of 52 years, Madeline (King), son, Gary (Cheryl),
daughters, Gail (Jake) and Brenda (Ira), grandchildren, Joanne, Rebekah,
Christopher, Justin, Russell, and Bradley. Also left to mourn, his sister,
Liza Ann (Nance) Martin. Also, it is noted that mourning his passing
are all his nephews, nieces, in-laws, and a vast circle of friends and
acquaintances. Johnny, or as some fondly remember him, Johnny Walter,
was born in Ricky cove in 1921. In 1941 he joined the Royal Navy and
served with distinction until 1946. He spent the next 15 years working
as a cable splicer, seaman, lumberman and farmer. He was an incorporating
member of the Eastport consumers Co-op and served as its manager from
1961 until his retirement in 1981. John was a life member of the Royal
Canadian Legion, Branch 41, an honorary member of the Society of United
fisherman and charter member of both the Eastport Lions Club and the
Eastport Peninsula fire Brigade. John had a long and enjoyable retirement
doing what he always loved, farming. Financial gain was never his objective,
but rather seeing things grow under his tender loving care and sharing
the toils of his labour with whomever came into his garden. Unquestionably
he will be missed. Funeral services took place on Saturday, October 14th.
Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery . Donations in John's honour
may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Holy Cross Cemetery Fund.

(August
16, 1931 - October 12, 2006) -
Passed peacefully away at his home in Glovertown in the presence
of his family at the age of 75. He will be fondly remembered and sadly
missed by his loving wife, Maude (Pike); daughter, Sherry (Bruce Bussey);
son, Ron; granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Bussey; sisters, Winnie (Bruce Clarke),
June (Garth Brown), Marjorie (Elmore Tulk); brothers, Norman (Joyce),
Melvin (Sharon), Roland (Karolyn); and a large circle of family and friends.
He is predeceased by his mother and father, Maud and Alfred Genge. The
funeral service was held on Sunday, October 15th at Faith United church
in Glovertown with Rev. Paul Vardy officiating. Funeral arrangements

Lakeside Homes, Gander, Dorman John (Jack) Butt, aged
80 years. Predeceased by brother, Len and sister, Louise. Left to mourn

MULLINS, Raymond Pike, 80
Dartmouth -
Passed peacefully away in Oakwood Terrace, Dartmouth, on October
18, 2006. He was born January 1, 1926 in Rencontre East,
NL, the son of the late Abner and Ethel (Keeping) Mullins. Raymond
was employed with Eastern Provincial Airways for many years and then
with the Dept. of Transport (PSAC) Canadian Coast Guard Helicopter
section as a licensed helicopter engineer until his retirement. Raymond
had a great sense of humour. He is survived his loving wife, Beatrice
(Bea),of Dartmouth;, son, Wayne (Candy), Mississauga, ON; daughter,
Doreen Ann Mullins of Dartmouth; sisters, Jane (Fred) Guest, St. John's,
NL, Elsie (Jerry) Hall, south Carolina, USA; brother, Jim (Sheila)
of St. John's, NL; grandchildren, Lisa Danielle (Jim) Johnson; and
Jared Coffin, both of Dartmouth; great-grandchildren, Camden and Sarah.
Raymond was predeceased by sisters, Dora Lake of Milltown, NL and Julia
Mullins of St. John's , NL. Funeral service was held on October 23, 2006
at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth. Michael
Kelly of the Woodlawn Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses officiated. Burial

COLLINS, Gordon
(Oct. 8, 1923 - Oct. 19, 2006) -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander
after a lengthy illness, Gordon Collins of Gambo in
his 83rd year. Predeceased by sisters, Lillan M. Pritchett
and Dorcas Lush; brother, Baxter Collins; as well as his parents. Left
with loving memories are sisters, Daisy Hancock of St. John's and Maxine
Fry of Gambo (with whom he resided); brother, Wilfred Blackmore of Glovertown;
and a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service
was held on October 22nd at St. George's Anglican Church,
Gambo, led by Rev. Betty Harbin and George Badcock, Lay Minister. Interment
at St. George's Cemetery, Gambo. Donations may be made in his memory

Passed peacefully away on October 25, 2006 at
Lakeside Homes, Gander, Sterling Eastman, age 82 years.

Born on November 24, 1931, passed away October 31, 2006,
after a lengthy illness, Baxter Pritchett, age 74.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of 53 years; his children, Roy (Anita),
Clayton (Delphine) and Zita (Randall). He will be remember always and
sadly missed by everyone including his grandchildren, Dodi (Maurice),
Greg, Lorna, Carla, Marcella and Damian; great-grandchildren, Jami and
Taylor; two brothers, four sisters, and a large circle of friends. Funeral
