Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 Pemela (Millie) Firmage, age 90 years of Wareham. Predeceased by her parents, James and Caroline Cutler; sons, Samuel Firmage and Maxwell Firmage; brothers, Jonas Cutler and Jabez Cutler; son-in-law, Eleazor Cutler; sisters-in-law, Annie Cutler, Myrtle Cutler and Jessie Cutler. Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Center, Gander on November 4, 2010, Harry G. Chaulk, age 75 years. Predeceased by parents, Baxter and Jane Chaulk; sister, Phyllis Martin; grandson, Kyle Head; father-in-law, Edward West. RIDEOUT, Shakira - July 1, 1987 to November 4, 2010
Shakira Rideout
was granted her angel wings on November 4, 2010 at the age of 23. Shakira's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of her existence far exceeded the quantity of time in which she lived. Shakira fought against Cystinosis her whole life with a brave and bold attitude. She tackled every obstacle life put in her path and touched the hearts of everyone she met. Special thanks to Dr. John Crocker, Dr. Phil Acott, Dr. Andrew Wade and the health care team at the IWK, Halifax, NS. Shakira thought of you as family and she received the very best care always at the IWK. Dr. Farshad Sepandj, Dr. Julian Midgely and the health care team at the Foothill Medical Center Dialysis unit / Alberta Children's Hospital, Calgary, AB who have cared for Shakira over the last 18 months of her life. Hundreds of health care professionals, that are too numerous to mention. Your dedication and care will always be remember and appreciated. COWARD, Audrey Rayma (nee Briffett) -
Audrey passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto at the age of 66 on November 6, 2010 from infection - related complications. She is survived by her husband, William (Bill) J. Coward, son, Neil, father, Eric Briffett age (94), father-in law, Joshua Coward (age 96), sister, Eliza and brothers, Philip and Derek. Predeceased by her mother, Blanche Marie Briffett (nee Butt). A Celebration of her Life will be held at Faith United Church on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. Donations in Audrey's honour may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or its local branches. www.oramsfuneralhomes.ca

FRY- Vera (Veronica) Fry -
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Sunday, November 7, 2010, Vera Fry, age 83. Predeceased by her husband, Uriah Fry, she was the daughter of the late Joshua and Annie (Grandy) Osborne. Left with loving memories are her daughter, Marilyn (Stephen) Vallis, grandchildren, Aaron, Ariel, Evan, Spencer and Joshua who lived with her until she became a resident of Lakeside Homes; brother, John (Bernie) Osborne, also two sisters, Dora Taylor, Del Freeborn of Halifax, NS; She was also predeceased by her step-father, Michael Osborne and two brothers, Charlie and George Osborne and a sister, Tryphenia Pelletier and her little daughter, Michelle. She was a member of Fraser Road United Church and taught Sunday School there for 41 years. She was also a foster parent to several children through world vision. Special thanks to her nieces, Alma and Lillis for their visits and kindness while she was still at home and while she was a resident at Lakeside. Also for the many Tim's tea and donuts that was brought to her at Lakeside which she enjoyed very much. Special thanks to the nursing staff and volunteers of Lakeside. Also to the ladies of Fraser Road United Church for their visit and prayers. Also to Rhoda for her many visits and compassion she showed Vera over the past year. GRANTER, Maxwell -
Passed peacefully away on November 13, 2010 at Lakeside Homes in Gander after a short illness Maxwell Granter, aged 95 years, of Gambo. Predeceased by grandson, Darren, granddaughter, Claudette and son-in-law, Robert Feltham. Leaving to mourn his wife, Hettie of 74 years; his 4 sons, Henry (Beatrice), Nelson (Ena), Charles (Elizabeth), Ivan (Lorraine) and daughters, Violet and Linda (John Green) along with 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Passed peacefully away on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at James Paton Memorial Hospital. Janet Melvina Parsons, aged 86 years. Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at age 82. Predeceased by her parents, Willis and Amelia Cooper of Ireland's Eye, sister, Rebecca Fifield (Len), brothers, Max (Dolly), Alan (Mildred), Dan (Shirley), Chester (Maude) and Victor; and daughter-in-law, Olive. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories, her husband of 60 years, James, daughter, Millie (Mike), sons, Otis and Lorne (Adair) and granddaughters, Sharley Warren (Todd Pitre) and Suzanne, grandson, Steven Doyle (Beth) and great-grandsons, Caleb and Noah, sisters, Mildred Brown (Claude) and Miriam Gover (Clarence) and sister-in-law, Phyllis Cooper, and many nieces, nephews and special friends. CUFF, Watson -
Passed away at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on Friday, November 26, 2010, Mr. Watson Cuff of Carmanville in his 87th year. Predeceased by his parents, Elias and Mabel Cuff, and three brothers, Dawson, Truman and Carl. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Audrey (nee Tulk), two sons Gordon (Rose) of Carmanville and Boyde of Carmanville; three daughters, Linda Cuff of Carmanville, Trudy Ledrew (Gordon) of Gander and Iona Bellows (Tom) of Belleville, Ontario, six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on Sunday, November 28th from the Salvation Army Citadel in Carmanville with Major Barry Anstey officiating. POPE, Effie -
Dearly beloved wife and mother, died peacefully on November 27, 2010 in Palliative Care Unit, Victoria Hospital, London. She was in her 97th year. Born June 4, 1914, in Greenspond, Newfoundland to Caroline Parsons and Thomas Harding, fisherman. Effie was raised in Greenspond and moved to St. John's at the age of 15. There she met Harry Pope, grocer and they were married on September 9th, 1936. The Popes gave birth to their first child, Emma Frances and a few years later, their son, Roger Harry. In 1993 the Popes moved to London, Ontario to be with their children - both of whom had taken residency in London. Effie was predeceased by her husband, Harry, sisters Muriel, Phyllis, and Nina and brother, Frank. She is survived by her children, Frances Toll and her husband Michael, Roger Pope and his wife Diane; grandson, Gregory Pope and his wife, Dora-Lee and great-grandsons, Harrison and Kennedy Pope from Oakville, ON; step-grandchildren, Lyndsay and Dawn, nieces, Caroline Manton of Pickering, ON and Phyllis Burry of Greenspond; nephews, Harry Harding of Badger's Quay, NL, Fraser Harding of Greenspond, and Rex Harding of Greenspond and numerous nieces and nephews from the Pope family. Effie will be sadly missed by her dear friends, Maureen Coleman and Marion Mills. The funeral service was conducted at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 1204 Richmond Street North, London on Tuesday, November 30 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery, London. Memorial contributions to the Access Fund at St. Luke's Anglican Church would be gratefully acknowledged.
