Passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Doris West of Ladle Cove, aged 80 years. Predeceased by parents, Benjamin and Beatrice Tulk; husband, Ronald, brother, Lloyd Tulk and sister-in-law, Gertie Tulk. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughter, Rhonda Tulk (David) and grandchildren, Jacinta and John-Charles, all of Aspen Cove; sister, Jean Lodge (Lloyal) of Port Union and a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral took place on November 5th from the United Church, Ladle Cove with Rev. H. Templeman officiating. Internment followed from the United Church Cemetery, Ladle Cove. WICKS, Susanna -
Passed peacefully away on November 6, 2008 at the Brookfield Cottage Hospital, Susanna (Button) Wicks, aged 80 yeas. Predeceased by her husband, Robert Wicks; parents, Thomas and Meggie M. Button; brothers, Edwin and Cyril and sister-in-law, Maggie Button. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his sister, Alfreda (Earl) Rogers of Trinity; brother, Lewis (Laura) Button of Hare Bay and sister-in-law, and sister-in-law, Marion Button of Hare Bay. Aunt Susie will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Betty Harbin on November 10th at St. Augustine's Anglican Church. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Hare Bay. Arrangements entrusted to Oram's Funeral Home, Dover.

Passed peacefully away on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St. John's, Lillian Windsor of Wesleyville, aged 99 years. Honorary life member of the United Church Women of Canada. Beloved mother of Pauline (Victor) Murrin, St. John's and daughters, Brenda (Gerald) Squires, Wanda (Laurence) Davis, Judith, Janice and Gail; of Madeline (Austin) King of Hickman's Harbour and daughters, Pamela (George) Baker and Crystal (Robert) Smith; of Earl (Rosalind)of Windsor Junction, NS and children, Geraldine (Randall) Green, Tom (Mann)and Terry (Heather); Aaron (Judith) of Scarborough, ON and children, Yvonne and Christopher and Calvin of Burnaby, BC, and children, Nicole, Jason (and their mother, Judy) and Travis. Loving great-grandmother of Desiree, Stephen and Alexander Squires, Norah Lillian and Benjamin Davis, Adam Murrin, Craig Baker (Holly), Carla (Leroy) Reid, Randi Green, Tommy, Troy and Tyler Windsor, Matthew Burn, Holly and Colten Windsor and Gabrielle Mitchell; great-great-grandmother to Alicia and Kaylee Reid; sister-in-law, to Elizabeth Piccott, Violet Windsor and Frances Windsor, Aunt Lil will be missed by her nieces and nephews of the Andres, Brown, Piccott and Windsor families, her Pickett and Gaulton cousins and many dear Friends. Lillian was born in Brookfield, Bonavista Bay on July 10, 1900. The last surviving child of Geraldine (Gaulton) and Aaron Piccott (Pickett) of Brookfield/Fair Island. She was predeceased by husband, Sidney in 1947; brothers, John and Raymond; sisters, Mabel Windsor and Emily Brown and five other siblings in early childhood as well as a great-granddaughter, Jessica Windsor. Funeral service took place from Jubilee United Church in Wesleyville, November 11th with Rev. H. Sandford officiating. Internment followed from United church Cemetery, Wesleyville. SWEETAPPLE, Madge Iola -
Passed peacefully away on November 9, 2008 at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander, Madge Iola Sweetapple, aged 90 years. Madge is predeceased by her husband, Eric; parents, George and Lucy Gibbons; brothers, Sandy, Jesse and Thomas; sister, Evelyn. Left to celebrate her wonderful life, her son, Lorne (Jocelyn); daughters, Beryl (Roy) and Marilyn; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service was held on November 12th at the Salvation Army Citadel, Glovertown. In lieu of flowers, donations were and may still be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund.

WISEMAN, Douglas Martin -
Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre in St. John's on Monday, November 10, 2008, in the presence of his loving family, Douglas Martin Wiseman of Springdale in his 65th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife, Phyllis; daughter, Kelly (Dion) Foote of Dunville; sons, Darren (Suzann) of Saint John, NB, Terry (Tammy) of Marystown, and Troy (Camile) of Gander; sisters, Minnie (Fred) Brown of Gambo, Judy Blagdon of Gambo and Rachel Wiseman of Hare Bay; brother, Roderick (Melvina) Wiseman of Lewisporte; sisters-in-law, Pansy Wiseman of Gander and Eileen Wiseman of Hare Bay; brother-in-law, Jim Elliott of Hare Bay; grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel, Devin, Kirkland, Megan, Emily and Victoria; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on November 13th. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Gander. BISHOP, J.A. Glynn -
Passed peacefully away on November 14, 2008, after a short illness, at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, Glenn Bishop, aged 52 years. Left with fond and loving memories his wife and best friend, Diane; adoring sons, Adam (Katherine Noel), Andrew, Ethan and Brandon; brothers, Harvey (Elizabeth) of Halifax; mother and father-in-law, Cliff and Betty Brenton of Glovertown; brothers-in-law, Cliff Brenton (Ulla) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Bruce Brenton (Sharon) of St. John's; sister-in-law, Jean Brenton-Hickman (Robert) of St. Anthony; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a wide circle of friends in Newfoundland and Qatar. Gone to join his parents, Harry and Betty. A service to celebrate his life was held on November 17th from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Service was conducted by his sister-in-law, Rev. Jean. Passed away on November 16, 2008 at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander, Dorothy Cassell, originally from Harbour Deep, NL. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband, Nathaniel Cassell; sister, Mildred Pittman and brother, Charles Murcell. Lovingly remembered by her family and countless friends for her boundless acts of generosity towards others and unwavering strength in the face of adversity. A memorial service will be held at St. Martin's Anglican Church in gander, NL in August 2009, exact date to be announced. In memory of Dorothy, donations to the Chron's and Colitis Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated by her family and those currently suffering from this disease. Passed peacefully away on November 24, 2008 at the Lakeside Home, Gander.
