CREWE, Harold
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander, in the presence of his family on November 2, 2006, Harold Crewe, Sr. of Glovertown in his 82nd year. Left to mourn are his wife, Doris; son, Harold (Jacqueline) of Glovertown; daughters, Evelyn (Elias Oram) of Glovertown, Melinda (Roy Legge), Lorraine (Norman Brown), both of Whiteway, Eileen (Wayne Patey) of Traytown, Hertha (Wayne Blackwood) of Salmon Cove and Geraldine (Baxter Blackmore) of Gander; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Eileen Healey of St. John's. Predeceased by his parents, William and Dulcie Crewe; brothers, Eric and Wallace; sister, Evelyn; and granddaughter, Holly Nicole. Funeral service was held on November 4, 2006 at Faith United Church in Glovertown. Interment followed at the Hillside Memorial Garden. MATTHEWS, Malcolm -
Passed peacefully away on November 5, 2006 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Malcolm Matthews, formerly of Wareham, age 83 years. Predeceased by parents, John and Amelia (Button) Matthews; brothers, Douglas and Joseph; sisters, Charlotte Brown, Hannah Button, Deliah Rogers, Sarah Blackmore, Beatrice Green and Pearl Matthews; sisters-in-law, Lucy Matthews and Bertha Matthews; brothers-in-law, Cecil Button, Percy Rogers, Alex Blackmore and Frank Green. PENNEY, Ted
Passed away suddenly at his home in Happy Adventure on November 5, 2006, Ted Penney, aged 63. Left to mourn his wife, Vina; daughters, Cindy (Todd) Feltham) and Sharon (Blair Sparkes); grandchildren, Cameron and Caitlin Sparkes; brother, Eric (Greta); sisters, Ida Andrews and Millie Harris (Harvey); mother-in-law, Maisie Powell; sisters-in-law, Eldene Ennis (Lee) and Beulah Moss (Eugene); and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on November 8th at the Good shepherd United Church in Happy Adventure with internment at the United Church Cemetery.

RIDEOUT, Lillian
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes in Gander on November 6, 2006, Lillian Rideout, age 91 years and 11 months. Predeceased by husband, Percy, parents, Nathaniel and Angela Hill; sisters, Breta, Sylvia, Winnie, Dot and Sadie; brothers, Chesley and Otto; granddaughter-in-law, Debbie. Left to cherish her always and saddened by her passing, yet grateful for her long life and many wonderful memories, are her son, Noel (Pauline) daughters, Bernice (Bob Butler), Joan (Bob Decker) of Gander; seven precious grandchildren, Shawn, Gary (Joan), special granddaughter, Michele (Bill Edwards, Robert (Rhonda), Jeffrey (Carla) Butler, Jason and Ryan Decker; nine beautiful great-grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley) LeDrew, Trevor (Kendra) and Chelsea Rideout, Cheryl and Brian Butler, Brandon, Nicholas, Joshua and McKenzie Butler; also brother, Freeman (May) Hill and sister-in-law, Jean Hill of Campbellton. She will also be remembered by her many relatives and friends. Our mother was an incredible woman, forever devoted to her family. Passed away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on November 6, 2006, Mr. John Harvey, age 88. Passed peacefully away at his residence in Pool's Island on November 6, 2006, Edward W. Hoyles, aged 86 years. Predeceased by his parents, Job and Eliza Hoyles; sister, Greta Janes and brother-in-law, Arthur Janes. Passed peacefully away on November 7, 2006, surrounded by her loving family, at the Health Science Complex Cardiac Unit, St. John's, Emily (Sis) Brown of Labrador City, formerly of Trinity, age 76 years. Predeceased by baby son, Melvin and husband, Edward Roland Brown. Left to mourn are her children, Daphne (Rick) Casmey, Rose (Paul) Kippenhuck, Mike (Marcie) Brown, all of Labrador City, Helen (Tony) Collins, Judy (Rob) Chiplin, all of Fort McMurray, AB and Joe (Vanna) Brown of Waterdown, ON; twin brother, James (Leah) Norris; sister, Eleanor Bourne; sisters-in-law, Blanche Preston and Gertie Brown; brothers-in-law, Ted (Helen) Brown, Alwyn (Gwen) Brown; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. BROWN, John
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Brown of Salvage. This well-known family man and accordion player was born November 4, 1926 and died November 7, 2006 at G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, NL. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Predeceased by his wife, Irene (nee Ralph) 1984. Leaving to mourn his children, Dona Wheeler (Paul) of Halifax, NS, Dianne Ash (Randy) of Edmonton, AB, Glenn (Roxanne) Manuels, NL; Doris Brown of Placentia, NL, and Margaret Hancock (Lewis) of Clarenville, NL; grandchildren, Kristen and Justin Wheeler, Chelsea and Shaylah Ash, Paige and Riley Brown and great-grandson, Parker Wheeler. His very dear friend, Mrs.. Beryl Johnson. Also, other relatives and a large circle of friends. Remains resting at Squire's Funeral Home, Eastport, NL. Funeral services were held at St. Stephen's Church, Salvage, November 11th. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Salvage, NL. KEAN, Maisie
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on November 7, 2006, Maisie Kean (nee Attwood) of Badger's Quay, age 90 years. Predeceased by her husband, Abram; parents, Jacob and Margaret Attwood; sisters, Flora, Beatrice, Elsie, Gertie and Myrtle; brother, Maxwell; daughters-in-law, Maggie and Ida. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Cator (Dorothy), Howard (Ruby), Sam (Fronie), Albert, Paul (Judy) and Gerald (Diane); daughter, Margaret and son-in-law, Sandy; sister, Margaret Barbour (Samuel); sister, brother, Peter (Eliza); 31 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral service was held on November 10th at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. R. Trevors officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Badger's Quay. HOWELL, Elizabeth (Betty) Pauline
Passed peacefully away on November 8, 2006 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's, surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer, Elizabeth (Betty) Pauline Howell of Pound Cove, age 77 years. Predeceased by parents, Cecil and Minnie Mullett and sister, Bulah White. Left with so many precious memories are her husband, Hayward of 57 years; four sons, randy of St. John's, Bill (Yvonne) of Brampton, ON, Gordon (Helen) of Valleyfield and Jerry (Nancy) of Mt. Pearl; two daughters, Marilyn (John Dowden) of Gambo and Janice (Dennis Whalen) of Lumsden; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeff Dowden, Rodney Howell, Mark and Luke Howell, Kristen and Courtney Whalen, Jamie Hunt, Holly and Wayne Howell; great-grandchildren, Joey and Braden Howell; sister, Susie Butt of Goulds; sister and brother-in-law, Nerissa and Percy Winsor of Badger's Quay; brother-in-law, Luke Gaulton of St. John's; and a large family of nieces and nephews, other relatives and a large circle of friends. Funeral service was held on November 11th at Jubilee United Church, Wesleyville with Rev. B Parsons officiating. Interment followed at St. Thomas United Church Cemetery, Pound cove. PRITCHETT, Baxter
Born on November 24, 1931, passed away October 31, 2006, after a lengthy illness, Baxter Pritchett, age 74. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of 53 years; his children, Roy (Anita), Clayton (Delphine) and Zita (Randall). He will be remember always and sadly missed by everyone including his grandchildren, Dodi (Maurice), Greg, Lorna, Carla, Marcella and Damian; great-grandchildren, Jami and Taylor; two brothers, four sisters, and a large circle of friends. Funeral service was held on October 31 st at St. George's Church, Gambo, led by Rev. Betty Harbin, Rev. Paul Thoms, Sr. and Rev. Paul Thoms, Jr. Interment at St. George's Cemetery, Gambo.

HUMPHRIES, Marguerite
Passed peacefully away on November 10, 2006 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Marguerite Humphries of Lumsden, age 90 years. Predeceased by parents, Esau and Mary Fifield; husband, Percy; daughter-in-law, Flossie Humphries, grandson, Barry Humphries and sister, Beatrice Humphries and sister, Beatrice Andrews. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories on son, Kenneth (Mary Stagg) and daughter, Stella Moulton, all of Lumsden; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Humphries of St. John's and Marie Vincent (Solomon) of Wesleyville; brothers-in-law, Norman Humphries, Ernie Humphries (Ryne), James Rideout (Alice); sister-in-law, Martha Humphries; and a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends. BISHOP, Eleanor
Passed peacefully away on November 10, 2006 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, where she resided, Eleanor Bishop, age 89 years. Predeceased by husband, John; daughters, Marjorie and Rhoda; and brothers, Aubrey and Maurice Perry. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons, Maurice (Rhyna) Dermot, Aubrey (Judy), all of Manitoba and Fred (Betty) of Halifax; daughters, Doris Cross (Fred), Ena Spurrell (Barry), all of Badger's Quay, Beatrice Mesh (Jack) of St. John's, Sarah Gee (Bobby) of Calgary and Joy Howell (Walter) of Manitoba; sister, Susie Tulk of Appleton; sisters-in-law, Pashie Perry of Indian Bay and Alice Perry of Badger's Quay; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other family and friends. ANDREWS, Lloyd
Passed peacefully away at Sunshine Manor of the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on November 13, 2006, Lloyd Andrews of Clarenville (formerly of Cape Island and Valleyfield, Bonavista Bay), age 88 years. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Honor Andrews; brothers, Alf, Ned, Jake; sister, Lilly Humphries and brother-in-law, Max Humphries. Lloyd will be sadly missed by several nieces, Nephews, grand-nephews and grand-nieces. He will be especially missed by Joshua, Jessica, Jeremy, and other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 with Rev. Boyce Parsons officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Valleyfield. SACREY, Hazel (Edison) –
Hazel Edison
was born in Northern Arm on September 11, 1954 to Donald and Rosella Edison. She grew up in Botwood where she met her husband, Raymond Sacrey. At the age of nineteen they married and began their journey of 33 years together. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Gander where they raised their three children. Hazel was employed with Omega Investments/Northern Properties as a property manager for the past 26 years. Hazel was a lady who loved life, lover her family, and one who really loved to laugh. Even after being diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer in April 2005, she continued to enjoy life to its fullness and was an inspiration to whoever she met. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Monday, November 14, 2006, at the age of 52 years. Hazel is predeceased by her parents, Donald and Rosell Edison; brother, Harry; three sisters, Marjorie, Myrtle, and Verna as well as her father-in-law, Augustus Sacrey. Left to mourn is her husband, Raymond; daughter, Michelle (Dwayne) Philpott of Gander; two sons, Raymond (Doreen) Sacrey of Coldbrook, NS, Darren (Elizabeth) Sacrey of Corner Brook; mother-in-law, Annie Sacrey of Botwood; sisters, Evelyn Hamilton of Grand Falls-Windsor, Betty Budden of Botwood, Mary (Gerald) Matthews of Labrador City, Monica (Norm) Tiller of Gander, Frances (Alex) Harris of Gander, Sheila (Larry) Winsor of Gander, Brenda (Carl) Drover of Labrador City, brothers, Ronald (Cathy) Edison, Melvin (Sheila) Edison, Harold (June) Edison, all of Botwood; Gordon (Phyllis) Edison of Gander, Lloyd (Laura) Edison of Saint John, NB; grandchildren, Joshua, Sara, Jonah, Rebecca, Micah, Jonathan and Janelle; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 15th at Evangel Pentecostal Church in Gander. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery in Gander. Donations in her memory may be made to the H. Bliss Murphy Gander Clinic.
We thank God for allowing our lives to be touched by such a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her generosity and loving spirit will never be forgotten. She was one of a kind and now is safely home in the arms of Jesus.

JOHNSON, Lewis
Passed peacefully away on November 19, 2006 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mr. Lewis Johnson of Eastport, aged 72. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife, Rosalie; daughters, Dawn (Tony), Cathy (Gerald), Allison (Chesley), Tracey (David); grandsons, Michael, Neil, Kristopher, Charles, Noah; granddaughter, Kathryn (Jeff); brother, George; sisters, Henrietta, Naomi, Janie, Cora; a large circle of relatives and friends and the Society of United Fishermen. Funeral service was held on November 22nd at Holy Cross Church with Father Paul Thoms officiating. Funeral arrangements by Squire's Funeral Home. Memorial donation to Holy Cross Church, Eastport.

BOLAND, Henry (Harry)
Passed peacefully away on November 20, 2006 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, in the presence of his loving family, Henry (Harry) Boland of Newtown, Bonavista Bay, age 70 years. He was born March 27, 1936 on Pinchard's Island, NL. He married Kathleen Howell on November 28, 1956 (celebrating 50 years of marriage this year). Proud father of three daughters, Judy (David) Gill of St. John's, Dawn (Roger) Howell of Alberta, Amanda (Marty) Macintyre of Nova Scotia; two sons, Scott (Janice) of Valleyfield, Michael (Roxanne) of Pound Cove; five grandchildren, David Gill, Travis and Ryan Howell, Victoria Boland, Tyra Boland; one great-grandson, Curtis John Gill; one brother, John (Patricia) of Newtown; one step-brother, James (Lillian) Gill; four step-sisters, Cassie of USA, Emily of Ontario, Ollie of Ontario, Mona of St. John's; one aunt, Elsie White of Middle Arm, Green Bay; two uncles, Clarence (a special uncle and friend) (Ethel) Norris of Newtown, Edgar (Minnie) Boland of Trinity, Bonavista Bay. Predeceased by an infant son; parents, Naboth and Myrtle Boland; two sisters Celie and Maudie; and step-father, Walter Gill. Funeral service was held on November 22, 2006 at the Trinity United Church, Newtown with Rev. Boyce Parsons officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Newtown. MOULAND, Hughie -
Passed away on November 20, 2006 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Mr. Hughie Mouland, of Musgrave Harbour in his 91st years. Predeceased by his wife, Marion, parents, Sidney and Nora Mouland. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his son, Harvey (Myrtis) of Musgrave Harbour; one brother, Beaton (Mabel) of Gander; two grandchildren, Diane Conrad (Steven) of Dartmouth, NS and Edwin Mouland (Sherry) of Keswick, ON; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Mouland and Kelly Mouland; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed away suddenly on November 22, 2006 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Horatio Maher of Badger's Quay, aged 74 years. Predeceased by his parents, Baxter and Lucy Maher; sister, Abagail; three brothers, Junior, Cluney and John. Passed away on November 22, 2006 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mrs. Elsie Pritchett, age 82 years. Mrs. Pritchett is predeceased by her husband, Morgan (Ted) Pritchett on May 19, 1976 and son-in-law, Newman Williams on April 10, 1999. Passed away suddenly at the Health Science Complex at the age of 76, Malcolm Hussey of Ladle Cove. Predeceased by his son, Julian and parents, Maxwell and Bessie Hussey. Left to mourn his wife of 57 years, Margaret; sons, Jerry (Shirley) and Malcolm (Shirley); daughters, Donna (Perry) and Judy (Cecil), Darlene (wife of Julian); eight grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie), Danielle (Bryan), Jody, Loni (Dion), Mindy, Cecile, Kyle and Taylor; one great-grandchild, Serena.

MOULTON, Sharon
Passed peacefully away on November 24, 2006 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Sharon Moulton, aged 76 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Richard; son, Dave ( Elizabeth ) of Gander; grandsons, Joshua and Jeremy; as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on November 27th at Fraser Road United Church followed by interment at All Saint's Cemetery, Gander. HUMPHRIES, Norman Bishop
Passed peacefully away at his residence on November 30, 2006 and surrounded by his loving family, Norman Bishop Humphries of Newtown, age 76. Predeceased by his parents, Dorcas and Bishop Humphries; brothers, Charles Humphries, Maxwell Humphries (Lucy), Hedley Humphries (Maggie), Percy Humphries (Maggie), infant brother, Norman Humphries; sisters, Wilhelmina Goodyear (Walter), Bessie Stagg (Norman), Rosie Humphries. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his brother, Ernie Humphries (Rhyma) of St. John's; sister, Alice Rideout (James) of Newtown; sister-in-law, Martha Humphries of Newtown, with whom he resided; several nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on December 2nd at the United Church, Newtown with Rev. Boyce Parsons officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Cape Freels. Donations in his memory can be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, St. John's. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove-Musgrave Harbour.
