GENGE, Edmund Clarence
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on November 2, 2001, Edmund Clarence Genge of Glovertown, age 80 years. Predeceased by his parents, Roland and Priscilla (nee Hawkins); daughter Janice; brothers, Norman and Alfred; sisters, Nellie and Annie. Left with fond and loving memories are his devoted wife of 55 years, Marguerite; children, Jim of Glovertown, Edmund (Barb) of Clarenville, Joan (Everett Pitts) of Springdale, Graham (Toni) of Calgary, Rosalind (Denis English) of Mount Pearl, and Sandy (Chris Hodder) of Gander; brother Herbert (Irene) of Glovertown; grandchildren, Sherry, Heidi, Lesley, Lee, Kerry, Ginger, Janice, Joey, Riley and Alexander; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Joel; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on November 4th at the Pentecostal Church, Glovertown. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Glovertown. Donations may be made in his memory to Lakeside Homes, Gander. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Oram's Funeral Home, Glovertown. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bennett and staff of Lakeside Homes, Gander and his caregivers while he was home in Glovertown.

CARAVAN, John James (Jamie)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Caravan announce his sudden passing on November 2, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, at the age of 43. He is survived by his wife Lois (nee Walbourne); two daughters, Juanita of Halifax and Crystal of Corner Brook; parents, Max and Mary Caravan of Deer Lake; brothers, Eddie (Maisie) of Deer Lake, Gary (Beverley) of Deer Lake and Rocky (Shirley) of Corner Brook; two sisters, Glenda (Wayne) Drover of Deer Lake and Heather Heath of Edmonton; special sister and brother-in-law June and Bill King, as well as a special nephew Matthew King, sister and brothers-in-law, Shirley (Lloyd) Diamond, Millie (Allan) Bridal, Kim (James) Post; brother and sisters-in-law, Steve (Theresa) Walbourne, Lloyd Walbourne and Darrell Walbourne; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on November 11th at the Kingdom Hall, Corner Brook. Interment at the Jehovah Witness Cemetery, Pasadena. Donations can be made to the Western Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, Corner Brook. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home, Corner Brook.

BAREFOOT, Oliver
Passed away suddenly on November 9, 2001, Oliver Barefoot of Gambo, age 56 years, retired engineer with Marine Atlantic. Predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Caroline, and brother William. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Sandra, one son Patrick of Scarborough, ON and daughter Patricia (Paul) of Plainsboro, New Jersey; sister Edith (Dawson) of Sally's Cove and brother Herbert of Guelph, ON; mother-in-law Zena Winsor of Wesleyville; three brothers-in-law, Eric (Beverley) of Brookfield, Wallace (Betty) of Gander, Verle of Mount Pearl; sister-in-law Margaret Barefoot of Paradise; special little friends Sarah Lush and Jana Lynn Winsor; and a large circle of and friends. Funeral service was held on November 12 at St. George's Anglican Church, Gambo. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo.

HUMPHRIES, Cathleen
Passed peacefully away on November 9, 2001 at Bonnews Lodge, Cathleen Humphries of Valleyfield, age 92 years. Predeceased by her husband Albert; parents, Benjamin and Joanna Janes; sons, Harry, Wilson and Lewis; and daughters, Annie, Mary and Eva. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons, Calvin (Rose) of Waterloo, ON, Lester (Marie) of Waterloo and Gordon (Colleen) of Valleyfield; daughter Florence (Ron Halstead) of Kitchener, ON; special niece Irene Feltham of Badger's Quay; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on November 12th at the United Church, Valleyfield with Rev. M. Bowlby officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Valleyfield. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

NORRIS, Percy
Passed away at his residence in Gander on November 9, 2001, Percy Norris, age 76. Left with loving memories are wife Marion; son Henry (Zelda) of Gander; daughters, Shirley (Raymond) White of Lower Sackville, NS, Marilyn (Gordon) MacDonald of Gander; sisters, Ada Blackmore of Gander, Nell (Chesley) Rodgers of Gander, Sophie Boland of Gander, Bess (Lawrence) Harris of New Chesley, TB, NF; grandchildren Connie, Colleen, Tamara, Vicinda, Tracey; great-grandchildren Nikkita, Ryan, Nicholas; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on November 12th at St. Martin's Anglican Church, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander/Carmanville.

PENNEY, Calvin Wayne
Passed peacefully away on November 9, 2001, after many long years of diabetes and its complications, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Calvin Wayne Penney, at the age of 46. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Calvin died as he lived, with strength and dignity. Predeceased by his mother Dora Penney in December 1980 and his baby sister Heather in 1959. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 19 years, Beverley (Batt); father Earl and step-mother Irene; brother Glenn (Ann Marie) of St. John's, sister Lori Penney of Halifax; mother and father-in-law Wilbert and Beverley Batt; four sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Kerry) Reid, Cindy Batt (Chad), Jean Batt, Joan Batt; two brothers-in-law, Hardy Batt (Bev), Billy (Angie); very special nieces and nephews, Sarah and Aniel Penney, Andrew and Heather Reid, Riley Chaulk and many close and dear friends. A memorial service was held on November 12 at All Saints Anglican Church, Corner Brook, followed by a private burial service at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation, The Children's Wish Foundation or the Diabetes Association (Corner Brook Branch).

BRODERICK, Francis Michael
Passed peacefully away on November 11, 2001, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Francis Michael Broderick, age 81. Left to mourn are his wife Flora, sons, Brian (Gladys) of St. John's, Blair (Verna) of Twillingate; Blaine (Sharron) of Ottawa, Braden of Victoria, BC, Brooke (Julie) of Twillingate; daughters, Brenda (Dana) Moores of Halifax, Blythe (John) Mongomery of Vancouver, BC, Blaze (Tony) Ivany of Gander; brother William (Winnie) of St. John's, sister Joan Redmond of St. John's; 15 grandchildren, Shannon, Shane Stetson, Devin, Beth, Alura, Serena, Katie, Gavin, Sean, Korah, Brandon, Dustin, Patrick and Gabrielle. Funeral service took place on November 15th at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander/Carmanville.

BOWERING, Clarence R.
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on November 16, 2001, Clarence R. Bowering of Gander, age 74 years. Left with fond and loving memories his devoted wife Allison (nee James); his children, Reginald (Doreen) of Mount Pearl, Elizabeth (Neil) Bishop of Stephenville, Sandra (Jack) Burt of Belgium; Gary (Alice) of Gander and Robert of St. John's; eight grandchildren, Karen, David and Daniel Bowering, Brian and Allison Bishop, Rodney and Douglas Butt, and Robyn Bowering; brothers, Myron (Ann) of Toronto and Raymond (Fredrica) of Dunville; sisters, Gladys (Victor) Cave of Bay Roberts and Annie Meyer of Newmarket, Ontario; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Donations may be made in his memory to Fraser Road United Church Building Fund or The Newfoundland Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

HANCOCK, Reta
Passed peacefully away on November 17, 2001 at her residence, Reta Hancock of Templeman, age 88. Predeceased by her mother Johanna Hounsell and stepfather Caleb Hounsell; husband Jesse, step-brothers; Clifton, Donald (Nadine), Eric and Ronald (Stacie); special sister-in-law Carrie Blackmore and mother-in-law Theresa Hancock. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are son Wayne (Brenda) of St. John's; daughters, Evelyn (James Bartlett) of Oshawa, ON and Ernestine (Eric Howse) of Templeman; grandchildren Joyce, Brenda and Larry Bartlett and Carson and Todd Howse, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Olga Hounsell of St. John's, Bertha Melendy of St. John's and Whelemina Hounsell of Otterbury Manor, Wesleyville; and a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral service took place on November 19th at the United Church, Templeman, with Rev. M. Bowlby officiating. Interment followed from the United Church Cemetery, Templeman. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

GOODYEAR, Winnie
Passed peacefully away on November 18, 2001 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Winnie Goodyear, age 88. Predeceased by husband Horace in 1965; brothers, Albert Forsey in 1921, Hubert Forsey; and sister Rilla Ludlow in 1997. Left with loving memories are sons, Jack (Hilda) of Gander and Bruce (Sheila) of New Market, ON; brothers Oswald Forsey of Glenwood, Wilbert (Mary) Forsey of Stephenville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service was held November 21st at St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Grand Falls/Windsor. Donations in her memory can be made to the St. Martin's Building Fund. Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander/Carmanville.

KELLY, Gregory
Passed peacefully away on November 21, 2001 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Gregory Kelly of Gambo, age 92. Predeceased by wife Mary in 1995. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Terry (Roslyn) of Gambo, Leon (Mona) of Winnipeg, Gregory (Rosalind) of Gander, David (Diane) of Thompson, Ted of Gambo, Allan of Toronto; daughters, Bernice (Martin) of Red Deer, Patricia (John) of Gambo, Beatrice of Gambo, Florence (Richard) of Gander, 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on November 24th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Gambo. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Gambo. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo.

BULGIN, Clifford A.
Passed away on November 30, 2001 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, Clifford A. Bulgin, age 77 years. Predeceased by brother Mackenzie and half-sister Nellie. Left to mourn five daughters India, Donna, Glenda (Edward Duval), Gloria (Keith Petsche) and Natalie; brothers, Raymond (Nellie), Harve (Myrtle); sisters, Lilly, Grace and Amy; grandchildren, Sean, Tamara, Lucinda, Warren, Janet and James; great-grandchildren Aaron, Markadonis and Clay; and many relatives and friends. He will be missed by all. Funeral service was held on December 2nd at United Church in Summerford.
