GOODYEAR, Ruby
Passed peacefully away at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield on Thursday, May 4, 2017, Ruby Melita Goodyear age 89 years of Musgrave Harbour. Predeceased by her husband Melvin; parents Pearce and Virtue Vincent; and daughter-in-law Doreen Goodyear. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughter Pauline Cooze (Emerson); son Clarence Goodyear; brother Clarence Vincent (Selma); 3 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at St. Luke's United Church, Musgrave Harbour on Monday, May 8, 2017 with Rev. George Kean officiating. Interment followed at St. Luke's United Church Cemetery, Musgrave Harbour. As an expression of sympathy donations in her memory may be made to St. Luke's United Church Cemetery Fund, Musgrave Harbour. HANN, Robert Charles
March 25, 1955- May 26, 2017
Bob Hann
of Valleyfield passed away on Friday May 26th, 2017 in Clarenville, NL at the age of 62 years. Bob was one of six children born to Charlie & Lydia (Sturge) Hann. As a small child he was raised by his Uncle Pierce & Aunt Rita (Wiseman) Sturge. Bob remained in his childhood home even though his work could have easy taken him anywhere on the Island. He was well known for his caring & dedicated love for pets, always ready to take in a stray, endless hours of weight lifting in his shed and his ability to chatter even with strangers. He is predeceased by his Uncle Pierce & Aunt Rita, Parents Charlie & Lydia, Brother Gary R. Hann and Nephew Gary Hann. Left to mourn are his; brothers Eric & Meta Hann, Lester Sturge; sisters Cassie Hann, Theresa Hann(Rick Glover); nephews Charlie Hann, Myles Hann, Glenn Sturge, Andre Sturge, Charles Hann, niece Lisa Hann, great nephews & nieces, special friends Eric Hoyles & Janine Matthews. Bob will be greatly missed by his loyal dog Diesel, numerous cats and a large number of co-workers and many friends. Visitation was held at Sincerely Yours Funeral Home in New-Wes-Valley on Wednesday May 31- June 1, 2017. Rev. L. Bungay & Capt. O. Randell officiated the funeral service at the Memorial United Church in Valleyfield, Friday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m. Followed by an inurnment at the United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jennifer Pender of Sincerely Yours Funeral Home.

LUSH, Tamey Allison Ruth
Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Health Sciences Centre, Tamey Allison Ruth Lush age 51 years. Predeceased by her mother, Nellie Lush. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her fiancé, Robert Quilty and his son, Robert Jr. (Courtney Harris); grandson, Parker; step daughter, Michela Perry; her father, Stewart Lush; six siblings: Gladys (Roger), Launa, Daphne (Brian), Millicent (Morgan), Dennis (Linda) and Paul (Deirdre); very close friend and "sister from another mother", Alice-May Paul; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo on Thursday from 2pm-9pm and then on Friday from 10am-9pm. Funeral service to be held from The Salvation Army Gambo Corps, Gambo, NL on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Gambo, NL . It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and lifelong resident of Musgrave Hr., NL. Survived by: sister Maisie Montgomery, son: Ivan, daughters:Maisie, Christine (Barry), Glenys, Lynda (Ken), Penny (Jim) and Gail (Neil). Grandchildren: Tina (Mark), Richard (Kayla), Albert, Rosanne (Jeremy), Nicholas (Jenny), Brandon, Ashley (Josh) Great-grandchildren: Christy, Erica, James and Aria Predeceased by: Parents Ernest and Matilda Abbott Sons: Austin and Bert Daughter-in-law: Sheila (Ivan) Granddaughter: April (Christine) Also leaving to mourn extended family and friends. SIMMS, George Roy

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Roy Simms announce his passing at the James Paton Memorial Health Care Centre on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories Mavis Vatcher (Robert) of Hammonds Plains, NS; Bernice Collette (Joe Harlock) of Edmonton, AB; and their mother Greta Hart Simms of Halifax, NS; grandchildren Warren Vatcher (Ally), Kayte Samson (Chris), Brandi Collette (Renato), Heather Collette (Dave), great-grandchildren Payton Samson, Emmett Samson, Lucy Vatcher, Selena Delgado and a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Ned Simms and sister Rita Harnett. After a stint in the Navy, Roy worked as a stationary engineer in Labrador City at the Hospital (CWJM) and then at IOC. He retired to Lewisporte and Gander in 2002. Thanks to all the staff at Nightingale Manor for the excellent care given to "George" over the past 11 years. In keeping with Roy's wishes, cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donation in Roy's memory may be made to the Lung Association. WAY, Frank
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Saturday, May 13, 2017 Frank Way age 90 years of Newtown. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Lily Way; brothers Garfield, Harold, Cluny and Boyd; sister Daphne; son-in-law Robert Meaney. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Hazel; daughters Glenys of St. John's, Christine(Madonna) of St. John's and Jeannie(Ike) of Lower Sackville, NS.; grandchildren Michael, Pamela and Jessica; great-grandson Matthew; sisters Sadie of St. John's and Doris of New-Wes-Valley; brothers-in-law Stan(Joan), Ron and Mait(Dot); and a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends. Frank will be sadly missed by everyone, especially by those who enjoyed his sense of humor and listened to his "tall tales". Funeral service took place at Trinity United Church, Newtown on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 with Rev. Larry Noseworthy officiating. Interment followed at Trinity United Church Cemetery, Newtown.
