Passed suddenly, yet peacefully away in the arms of his wife, Marie, on Tuesday,
May 4, 2010, Llewellyn Calvin Boland, age 62 years of Pool's Island.
Predeceased by his mother, Dora Boland; father-in-law, Willis Spurrell and
sister-in-law, Annie Winsor. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories
are his father, Harry Boland of Indian Bay; mother-in-law, Bessie Spurrell
of Pool's Island and his three daughters, "daddy's girls",
Joanne (Dave) Knee of Pool's Island, Tina (Scott) Martin of Goulds,
and Brenda Lee (Tim) Goodyear of Pool's Island. Also left to mourn
are his five brothers and sisters, Scott (Barbara), Joan (Raymond) Pearce,
Albert (Karen), Betty (Kevin) Collins, Deon (Elizabeth), a honorary "brother",
Albert (Sheila) Sheppard; six grandchildren, Andrew, Patrick, Jacob, Jonah,
Laurel and Jayda, whom he loved dearly, and a large circle of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends. Lew worked as a mechanic and had many hobbies and interests,
including antiques, acrylic painting, history and making snowshoes. He was
loved by many and he always saw the good in everyone. Dearly loved and greatly

Bernard Joseph "Burt" Amero, age 67, of Auburn, NS passed
away Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in
Plympton, Digby County, he was a son of the late Bernard and Pauline Marie
(Walsh) Amero. Burt retired after thirty-two years as a photo tech with the
Canadian Air Force, having completed tours in Bosnia; Golan Height and Lahr,
Germany. To say the lease, VE1AMA was an avid amateur radio operator who started
and ran Netwood 105 for twenty-one year and he also had a passion for cars.
He is survived by his wife, the former Phyllis Reid; daughters, Twyla Amero,
Illinois, USA, Melissa Amero, Quebec City, PQ; stepdaughter, Grace (Stephen)
Wille, Cold Lake, AB; stepson, Rod (Carla) Richards, Calgary, AB; half sister,
Nina Henshaw, Digby; grandchildren, Cpl. Matthew Johnson, Pte. Jeffrey Johnson;
Nylah Dawn Richards and nephews, Michael, Blaine and tony. Besides his parents,
he was predeceased by his sister, Judy. Funeral service was held May 29th in
the Queen of Heaven Chapel, 14 Wing Greenwood with Father Tim Nelligan officiating.

BLACKMORE, Mary Marguarite -
Passed peacefully away at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on May 27, 2010,
Mary Marguarite Blackmore, age 96 years of Newtown, Bonavista Bay. Predeceased
by her husband; David; parents, Garland and Ethel Sturge; daughter, Ruby Gosse;
grandson, Patrick; brothers, Roland and Albert; sister, Sophie; son-in-law,
Allan Norris. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her two sons,
David (Brenda) and Patrick (Linda); two daughters, Sophie Gill (Baxter) - all
of Newtown, Blanche Norris of Gander; son-in-law, Cecil Gosse (Stella) of Tilton,
fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great- grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren
and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service took
place on May 30th at 2 P.M. from St. Luke's Anglican Church, Newtown
with Rev. Shaun O'Connor officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican
Church Cemetery, Newtown. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Luke's

Passed away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Friday,
Mary 28, 2010, Mr. Alex Pearce of Musgrave Harbor in his 80th year.
Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Charlotte Pearce; sister, Ada Guy; brother,
Eugene Pearce and one grandchild, Jerry. Left to mourn with fond and loving
memories are his wife, Josie; two sons, Wilson (Kathryn) of Scarborough, ON
and Brooklyn (Elaine) of Musgrave Harbor; three daughters, Linda Attwood (James)
of Valleyfield, Ksaren Dwyer (James) of Gander, and Valerie Gillingham (Calvin)
of Noggin Cove; one brother, Cyril Pearce (Joy) of Gander; one sister, Mabel
Mouland (Beaton) of Gander; sister-in-law, Rosie Pearce of Loon Bay, sixteen
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and also a large circle of their
relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on May 31st from the Kittiwke
Funeral Home in Musgrave Harbor. Interment followed from the Pentecostal Cemetery
in Musgrave Harbor with Pastor Rex Boone officiating. Arrangements entrust

Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook
on May 30th 2010, Sophia Constance Mae Heffern,
age 87 years. Predeceased by husband Onias; sons, Kevin, Frank, Winston,
Clyde and daughter-in-law, Mae. Left with loving memories are sons, Carl
(Frances) of Riverview, NB, Reginald (Sue) of Ottawa, ON, daughter, Sheila
(Wayne) Rideout of Corner Brook; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren,
one great-great-grandchild, and daughters-in-law, Emily Heffern of Centreville,
Margaret Heffern of Levack, ON.. Also a large circle of relatives and friends.

June 1st at 2:00 P.M. from St. Martins Anglican Cathedral, Gander . Interment
