GORDON, Melvin -
Passed away on May 1, 2007 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Melvin Gordon of Glovertown, age 89. Left to mourn is his six sons, Graydon (Maxine), Glen (Karen), Redmond (Maxine), Kevin (Marlene), Morris (Charmaine), Desmond (Myra); and one daughter, Georgina (Angus). Also 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a large number of nephews, nieces and friends.
He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.

HUNTER, Lillian May (nee Rodgers) - age 86 years -
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister on May 4, 2007 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her loving husband, William: and special friend, Alistair Dyke; brothers, Cyril, Joe and Andrew. Left to mourn her son, Baxter (Norma); daughter, Florence Letto (Gord); five grandchildren, Dean, DeAnn, Kim, Randy and Tammy; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Rachel, Brandon, Allison and Jenna; sisters, Muriel Bull and Violet Ralph; good friend, Thelma Powell (sister-in-law). Visitation took place at Squire's Funeral Home, Eastport on May 5, 2007. Funeral service was on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Holy Cross Anglican Church, Eastport with interment at Holy Cross Anglican Cemetery. The family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's and the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander. Donations in Lillian's memory may be made to the Holy Cross Cemetery Fund.

WRIGHT, Harvey -
Passed away peacefully, Harvey Wright, age 75 of Lumsden, on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Brookfield Hospital. Predeceased by parents, Oswald and Lydia Wright; and brothers, Rhoyd, Donald and Dr. Aubrey Wright. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Maisie (nee Goodyear); son, Barry (Linda) of Lumsden; sister, Bessie (Donald Snow) of Winnipeg; three grandchildren, Melissa Wright of Toronto, Paula (Russell Sheppard) of Toronto and Robert of Lumsden; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Dylan; sisters-in-law, Jackie Wright of Gander, Nina (Howard Roebotham) of Lumsden and Judy (Donald Bown) of Grand Falls-Windsor; two nephews and two nieces; and other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on May 8th from the Grace Pentecostal Tabernacle, Valleyfield with Pastor D. Mews officiating. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Valleyfield. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

ANDREWS, Julia -
Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on May 10, 2007, Julia Andrews, age 87 years, 11 months, of Wesleyville. Predeceased by her husband, Donald; parents, Peter and Maggie Blackwood and sisters, Marie and Stella. Leaving to mourn with loving memories daughter, Shirley and husband, Art Downey; and son, Cyril and wife, Statie; cherished grandchildren, Donna (Perry Downey), Denise (Rod Abbott), Deanne (Albert Jacobs), Glenn Andrews (Karen) and Cindy (Dion Carter). Precious great-grandchildren, Jamie and Justin Downey, Jessica and Michael Abbott and Jenna and Kyle Andrews. Also leaving to mourn brothers, George (Olive) and Cyril (Marina); and sisters, Irene Gibbons, Evelyn (Spence Winters), Pearl (Albert Kean) and Marjorie Kells (Bob); brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack Mullett, William Howell, Clifford Andrews (Joan), Susie Andrews, Martha Andrews, Elsie Andrews, Jean (John Colbourne); nieces and nephews; also her dear friend and roommate at St. Pat's, Carrie Noseworthy. We wish to thank all the loving and caring staff and volunteers at St. Pat's, especially those on 3E where Mom spent the past two years. She loved you all. Rested Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove. PYNN, Warrick Reynold -
Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre, St. John's on May 11, 2007, Warrick Reynold Pynn of Newtown, B. Bay, NL, age 60 years. Predeceased by his parents, Baxter and Ethel Pynn; sister, Florence Squires; mother-in-law, Priscilla Stagg. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Brenda; two sons, Darrell (Tina) of CBS, NL, Stephen (Vicky) of Mount Pearl, NL; three brothers, Lorne (Germaine) of Scarborough, ON, Don (Donna) of Scarborough, ON, Edward (Suzanne) of Old Perlican, NL; four sisters, Irene (Mark Goodyear) of Lumsden, NL, Janetta (Ron Mansfield) of CBS, NL, Brenda Brett of Pickering, ON, Daphne (Derrick Ayers) of St. John's, NL; GRANDCHILDREN, Morgan and Baby Pynn due in October 2007. Numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral service was held on May 14th from the United Church, Newtown, B. Bay with Rev. Boyce Parsons officiating. HUNT, Lucy M. (nee Howell) -
Passed peacefully away at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on May 12, 2007, Lucy M. Hunt (nee Howell), age 84 years of Templeman. Predeceased by her husband, Herbert; parents, Nathan and Gertrude Howell; brothers, Leonard and Wilson; sister-in-aw, Effie Howell. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter, Gertie Hefferton (Walter) of Templeman; sons, Edgar (Madonna) of Magdalen Islands, Quebec, Gordon (Blanche) of Gander; Wilson (Agnes) of Gander, Herbert of Bowmanville, ON; brothers, James Howell (Millie), Samuel Howell, Esau Howell (Rowena), all of Badger's Quay; sister, Shirley Jackman of St. John's; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Hunt of Scarborough, ON, Daisy Starkes of Badger's Quay, Beulah Howell of Jamestown; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends;. Funeral service took place at the United Church, Valleyfield on May 15th with Rev. George Kean officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Valleyfield. MARTIN, Lucy (1914-2007) -
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lucy Martin announce her passing at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on May 13, 2007 at the age of 92. Lucy was a member of the Roman Catholic church. She is predeceased by her husband, William; daughters, Joan Kelly, Marion Martin and Marie Anstey; grandchildren, Mac, Marie Ann, Trent and Trevor; and son-in-law, Wilson Anstey. Left with fond and loving memories are sons, Ron of Boyd's Cove, Gerard (Mabel) of Body's Cove, Bill (Joan) of Boyd's Cove, Shannon (fiancée Kealey) of Boyd's Cove; daughters, Gert (Sam) of Gander, Doreen (Bob) of Boyd's Cove, Donna (Bill) of Boyd's Cove and Helen (Mick) of Boyd's Cove. Also leaving to mourn brothers, Pad (Jean) Newman, Ron (Julia) Newman, and Brendon Newman; son-in-law, William Kelley; 37 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, along with a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Joseph Tebsis conducted the funeral mass at St. Anne's Church in Boyd's Cove on May 18th. Interment was at St. Anne's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shannon Martin, Bill Martin, Gerard Martin, Fred Anstey, Bob Nippard and Anthony Anstey. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes. Passed away suddenly on May 15, 2007, Tony Collins, aged 40 years. Predeceased by his mother, Jean Collins, nephew, Dennis Angell and niece, Julie Roberts. PENNELL, Clayton -
Passed away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, Mr. Clayton Pennell of Carmanville in his 88th year. Predeceased by his parents, Levi and Milda; brother, Ottwell; one infant brother and two infant sisters. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Georgina; five sons, Glen (Evelyn) of Carmanville, Alvin (Morilda) of Brampton, ON, John of Brampton, ON, Rex (Michelle) of Carmanville and Gordon (Nicole) of London, ON; three daughters, Norma Gillingham (Larry) of Clarke's Head, Hazel Hayward (Eric) of Musgrave Harbour and Doreen Gillingham (Eugene) of Noggin Cove; one brother, Lionel Pennell of Gander; two sisters, Leta Cuff of Carmanville and Florrie Coles of Carmanville; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on May 20th at the United Church, Carmanville. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Carmanville. GILLINGHAM, Stewart -
Passed away at Brookfield Bonnews Health Center on May 17, 2007, Stewart Gillingham of Ragged Hr. age 80 years. Predeceased by his father and mother, Jabez and Jessie Gillingham, and brother, Walter. Left to mourn are his wife, Melinda; 3 sons, Duke (Norma), George (Mary), Fred (Josephine); one daughter, Sheila (Ivan); eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a large number of nephews and nieces and friends. Funeral service was held at the Salvation Army Citadel, Musgrave Harbour on May 20th. Interment at Ragged Harbour Cemetery. Service was conducted by Majors Barry and Donna Anstey.
He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his wife, Melinda and family.

NOBLE, Chesley Wilfred -
Passed suddenly away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Saturday, May 19, 2007, Chesley Wilfred Noble, age 63 years of Centreville. Predeceased by his father, Frederick Noble; sister, Elizabeth Noble; father-in-law, Reginald Rogers; sister-in-law, Maude Noble; nephew, Andre Noble. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Susie; sons, Guy (Daphne), Shawn (Nadine); daughter, Tanya (Dion Rogers); brother, Bill Noble (Wendy); mother, Mary Nobel, all of Centreville; mother-in-law, Florrie Mae Rogers of Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay; six grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Kaleigh, Bradyn, Jake, Danielle; several brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, aunts, and a large circle of other relatives and many special friends. LUSH, Shirley Grace -
With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother and sister, Grace Lush of Gander. In the presence of her family, she left the James Paton Memorial Hospital on Sunday, May 20, 2007 and arrived safely on the shores of Heaven. Leaving to mourn her husband of 51 years, Luke, her children, Jim (Viola) of Gander, Bob (Sandy) of Sarnia, ON., Janice (Dan) of Graham, NC. and Philip of Gander. Also left behind her sister, Donna (Roxanne) and brother, Harvey ( Doris ); grandchildren, Blair, Samantha, Kurtis, Kevin, and Hannah. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away on Friday, May 25, 2007 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Margaret Gray of Bonnews Lodge, formerly of Gander/Lumsden, age 80. Predeceased by her husband, Douglas; parents, Chesley and Clara Templeman; brother, Gerald; and brother-in-law, Thomas Norris. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Walter (Heather) of Bedford, Nova Scotia and Vince of Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia; daughters, Ada Humphries (Jake) of Wesleyville, Sherry Pardy (Bob) of Torbay and Carol Ann Heath (Ken) of Bedford, Nova Scotia; brothers, Wesley (Phyllis) of Gander, Edwin (Shirley) of Musgravetown and Ralph (Muriel) of Lumsden; sisters, Ada Goodyear (Morley), and Lurley Norris, all of Lumsden and Barbara Gray (Otto) of Gander; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shirley Kelly (Jim) of St. John's and Zeta Templeman of Lumsden; and a large circle of other family and friends. WINTER, Lily Dorothy (nee Hunt) -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on May 29, 2007, Lily Dorothy Winter (nee Hunt), age 70 years of Wareham. Predeceased by her husband, David; parents, Martin and Hannah Hunt; and sister, Myrtle. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her partner of 31 years, German Preston; children, Robert (Juanita) of Calgary, Arlene (Melvin Pickett), Charmaine (Adlor Howell), Beverly (Ronald Ralph), all of Fort McMurray; six grandsons, four great-granddaughters; sisters, Florence (Jake Wicks), Mary (Herman Firmage), Doris (Ray Sweetland), Hazel (Jim Hunt); brothers, Gordon (Sarah), Eli, Leonard (Elsie) and Ronald (Brenda); German's family and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Wareham on June 1st with Rev. Wayne short officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Wareham. WAGG, (Notley) Barbara Ada -
Passed peacefully away at Riverview Homes, Gander Bay South, Barbara Ada Wagg of Victoria Cove, aged 94 years. Predeceased by her husband, Albert; son, Raymond; grandson, Own; and sons-in-law, John Gillingham and Tom Gabbert. Left to mourn are daughters, Pauline (Steve), Eva (Derek), Cathy, Donna (Leo), Doreen (Nelson); sons, Bill (Jackie), Owen (Ruth). Also left to mourn are 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were conducted from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wing's Point with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Rodgers Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Woolfrey's Funeral Home, Lewisporte. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity one's choice.
