BLAGDON, Leonard -
Passed peacefully away on May 1, 2002 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Leonard Blagdon of Gambo, age 69 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Millie Blagdon; four daughters, Darlene Lane (Gene), Donna Murphy (Don), Denise Saunders (Eddie) and Debbie Byrne (Leo); one sister Laura Cluett (Archibald); six grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo. Funeral service was held on May 5th at St. George's Anglican Church with interment at St. George's Anglican Cemetery, Gambo. Donations can be made in his memory to the Diabetes Association, Heart Foundation or Cancer Society.

NOSEWORTHY, Marjorie -
Passed away suddenly on May 1, 2002 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mrs. Marjorie Noseworthy in her 61st year. Left with fond and loving memories is mother, Marie Hammond of Cambridge, ON; husband, William; sons, Victor and wife Karen of Gander, Robert and wife Rosemary of Brampton, ON, Craig and wife Joan of Lab City; Andrew and wife Michelle of Glenwood; daughter Elizabeth and husband Edwin Mackey of Glenwood; brother John Hammond and wife Joan of Lockport, NS, Lorne Hammond and wife Aina of Georgetown; sisters, Marion and husband Paul Mercier of Cambridge, ON, Doreen and husband Fred Vanhumbeck of Simcoe, On, Judy and husband Wayne Warford of Cambridge, On, grandchildren, Sarah, Robyn, Michelle, Meghan, Kyla, Thomas, Andrew, Leah and Chantal; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on May 5th at Fraser Road United Church, Gander. Inurment at a later date. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangement entrusted to Stacey's Funeral Home, Carmanville/Gander.

MATCHIM, Blanche -
Passed peacefully away on May 2, 2002 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Blanche Matchim in her 79th year. Predeceased by husband Maxwell (1999) and son, Stanley (1992). Left with fond and loving memories are her four sons, Ralph (Judy), Ross (Judy), Cliff (Lorraine) and Francis (Rosalind); three daughters, Nellie Sweetapple (Wayne), Minnie Brown (Edward) and Anne Benger (Kevin); 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Squires funeral Home, Eastport. Funeral took place on May 5th at Eastport.
The Clock of Life is wound but once/and no man has the power/to tell just when the hands will stop/at late or early hour. Now is the one time you own/ So live and toil with will/Place no faith in tomorrow/for the clock may then be still. Forever in our minds and always in our Hearts.

BUTT, Hilda (Dolly) -
Passed peacefully away at home on May 4, 2002, Hilda (Dolly) Butt, age 78 years. Predeceased by parents, Eli and Selma Arnold; sisters Daphne Andrew, Dorothy Ackerman and Geraldine Carroll. Left with loving and cherished memories are husband Jack; daughters, Jacequeline (Wendell) Sparkes of Ottawa, Jillian (Lamont) Sweet of Stratford, PEI, Selma (Jim) Blackwood of Glovertown, Signe (John) Kabiseski of Osgoode, On; sons, John (Lissa) Butt of Glovertown; sister, Doris Howse of Peterborough, On; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Edgar Butt of Glovertown; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, 21 nieces and nephews and many friends. Cremation has taken place at Dolly's request. Funeral service was held on May 7th at Glovertown Central United church. Donations in her memory may be made to Janeway Children's Hospital, Glovertown United Church Cemetery Fund or Glovertown United Church Organ Fund.

PERRY, Jane -
Passed peacefully away on May 4, 2002 at Central West Health Care Centre, Grand Falls/Windsor, Jane Perry from Pound Cove, aged 88. Predeceased by parents, Emily and Walter Antle; husband, Joseph; brother-in-law, Harvey Small; two sons, Noah Kenneth and Frank; and stepson, Darius Perry. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Gerald (Hilda) of Valleyfield, Bramwell (Beverley) of Grand Falls/Windsor; one daughter, Jean (Reginald) Burt of Grand Falls/Windsor; two sisters, Violet Small of Springdale, Laura (Sidney) Fancy of Bayside Manor, Brown's Arm; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, daughter-in-law, Betty (Owen) Mcentegart of Lumsden; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on May 6th at the Anglican Church Pound Cove, with Rev. Reid officiating assisted by Pastor Pittman. Interment took place at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Pound Cove. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

SAUNDERS, Ida Marie -
Passed peacefully away on May 4, 2002 at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, St. John's, Mrs. Ida Marie Saunders in her 88th year. Predeceased by husband, Fred (1965). Left with fond and loving memories are sons Fred (Karen) of Gander, Raymond of Wabush, Cyril (Ellen) of Brampton, ON, Joseph (Ilda) of Surrey, BC, daughters, Mary Francis (Pat) of St. John's, Cecila Ryan (Martin) of Whitbourne, Nora Mercer (John) of Whitbourne, Mildred (Rick) of Burnaby, BC, Madonna Christopher (John) of Niceville, FL, Ann Byrne (Gerry) of Courtice, ON, Bernadette Decker (Aneas) of Lab City, Margaret Colbourne (Roy) of Corner Brook; one sister, Cecilia Krawec of Scarborough, ON; 34 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home and Fogo Island Funeral Home. Funeral mass was held on May 6th at Joe Batt's Arm Roman Catholic Church. Interment at Joe Batt's Arm R.C. Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Association. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home Ltd., Gander.

KELLAND, Peter -
Passed peacefully away on May 5, 2002 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mr. Peter Kelland in his 81st year. World War II veteran, 125 Newfoundland Squadron RAF. Predeceased by son-in-law, Kevin Ryan in 2001. Left with fond and loving memories are wife, Sarah (nee Smith); son, Edward (Ted) and wife Carol of St. John's; daughters, Dianne (John) Warren of St. John's, Shirley Ryan of St. John's, Peggy (Wayne) Holley of Gander; brother, Newman (Hilda) Kelland of St. John's; sisters, Lydia (Oliver) Coates of Winterton, Mildred (Mike) Walsh of Norris Point; 11 grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on May 8th at St. Martin's Anglican Church, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Donations can be made to the St. Martin's Anglican Church Memorial Fund or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements through Stacey's Funeral Home, Carmanville/Gander.

ABBOTT, Ronald -
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on May 9, 2002, Ronald Abbott of Musgrave Harbour, in his 72nd year. Predeceased by his grandson, Gary. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Irene, residing at Lakeside Homes, Gander; four sons, Lloyd (Dale) of Musgrave Harbour, Ford (Ingrid) of Slavelake, Alta., Ray (Judy) of Musgrave Harbour and Calvin (Linda) of Musgrave Harbour; one daughter, Eunice snow (Gary) of Musgrave Harbour; one brother, Gerald of Musgrave Harbour; three sisters, Doris Whiteway (Fred) of Musgrave Harbour, Margaret Stokes (Joseph) of Deadman's Bay and Joan Savard (Marc of Ottawa, Ont; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Trent, Kent, Travis, Andrew, Trina and Stephanie; and one great grandchild, Joey; and a large circle of other relatives and friends Funeral service took place May 12, 2002 from the Salvation Army Citadel in Musgrave Harbour. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home in Musgrave Harbour - Wesleyville.

SAINDON, Elizabeth -
Passed peacefully away at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, Elizabeth Saindon, age 64. Left to mourn her passing are her family; Derek of Macedonia; Donald (Daphne), Gander; David, Rainbow Lake; Donna (Rick Chaulk), North Bay, Ont.; Debbie (Henry Skiffington) Gambo; Dale (Rodney Layden); Belleewart, Ont.; 10 grandchildren; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo. Services were held at the United Church on May 16th, 2002. Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Gambo.

HUNT, George -
Passed away suddenly on May 18, 2002, in Whitby, Ontario, George Hunt, formerly of Wareham, age 61. Predeceased by parents Richard and Eula Hunt and brother Fred. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife, Mary of Whitby, Ontario; daughters, Sandy (Paul Minra) of Whitby, Judy (Blair MacDonald) of Whitby, Wendy (Jim Starkes) of Whitby; one son, Richard (Sheila) of St. John's; brothers, Doug of Wareham, Mithford (Winnie) of Wareham, Jessie (Sarah) of Wareham, Stanley (Myrtle) of Wareham; one sister Honor (Garfield Hounsell) of Wareham; grandchildren Jessica, Nicholas, Ashley, Jordan, Amanda and Rachel; sister-in-law Wilhemina of Wareham. Funeral took place on May 23rd at The Anglican Church, Wareham with Rev. Osmond officiating. Interment took place at The Anglican Cemetery, Wareham. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove-Musgrave Harbour. He will be sadly missed by all.

HAWKINS, Owen James (1931-2002) -
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law, Owen James Hawkins, passed peacefully away on May 19, 2002 at Brookfield Hospital. Owen was surrounded by loved ones and in the thoughts of family and friends at the time of his passing. He was predeceased by parents, James and Mary; brothers, George, Kenneth and William; sister Hazel; and a very special niece, Linda. Left to mourn is wife Elizabeth (Hoskins); daughter Lynn (Perry Dyke); and a very special grandson "Pop's Boy", Corey Dyke, all of Greenspond; sister Mae (Albert Crocker); brothers, Lloyd (Anna) of Greenspond and Charlie (Pat) of Decon, Alberta; two sisters-in-law, Grace Hawkins of Toronto and Florence (Elwood Parsons) of Corner Brook; two brothers-in-law, Cluney Hoskins (Myrtle) and Pierce Hoskins (Gladys) of Greenspond; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service took place at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Greenspond with Rev. John Watton officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Greenspond. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

ACKERMAN, Zacchaeus (Zac) Jerry -
Passed peacefully away on May 20, 2002, Zacchaeus (Zac) Jerry Ackerman of Trinity, Bonavista Bay (born Sydney Cove, Pork Island, Bonavista Bay), age 78. Left to mourn are his son, Carl (Pauline); daughter Sally (Peter Morris); grandsons, Stephen and Michael Ackerman, Christopher Morris, nieces, nephews and other family members. Zac (Jerry) worked hard his whole life and was highly respected by his many coworkers and friends. He will be missed. Funeral service was held on May 23rd at St. Alban's Church, Trinity. Donations to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

BRINSON, Morley -
Passed away on May 20, 2002, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mr. Morley Brinson in his 80th year. Mr. Brinson is predeceased by sister, Gertrude White, brothers-in-law, Clarence Hoffe, Patrick Healey and Leo Hollohan. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Josephine; sons, Fred and wife Cindy of Glenwood, Peter and wife Karen of Langley, BC, Michael and wife Lisa of Halifax, NS; daughters, Eileen and husband John Suley of Gander, Bridget and husband Mark Bennett of St. George's, Maureen and husband Harvey Hunter of Campbell River, BC; brothers, Eric and wife Emily of Victoria Cove, Frances and wife Joan of Victoria Cove, sisters, Joyce Hoffe of Lewisporte, Evelyn Healey of Grand Falls-Windsor, Violet Hollohan of Gander, Mildred and husband Steve Steves of Grand Falls-Windsor; brother-in-law Bob White of St. John's, grandchildren, David, Juanita, Andrea, Jennifer, Stephen, Todd, Nicki, Tracey, Morgan, Lindsay, Devon and Scott; great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Hali; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral mass was held on May 23rd at St. Joseph's Parish, Gander. Interment at All Saints R.C. Cemetery, Gander. Donations may be made to the Dialysis Machine Fund for Gander. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home Ltd., Gander.

FELTHAM, Llewelyn -
Passed peacefully away on May 22, 2002 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Llewelyn Feltham of Glovertown, aged 90 years. Left behind to remember him is wife, Nellie; daughter, Judy (Bronsten); son, Ernie (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Lynette (Kristopher), Matthew, Mark and Sarah; brothers, Lester (Hannah) and Herbert (Grace); sisters, Mary (Joe) and Olive; sister-in-law, Irene; many special nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral took place on May 25th at Riverside United Church. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Glovertown South. Donations in his memory may be made to Riverside Memorial Fund, Glovertown South. Arrangements entrusted to Oram's Funeral Home, Glovertown. God Bless you my loved one.

POWER, Edward John (Oct. 12, 1917 - May 24, 2002) -
Passed peacefully away on May 24, 2002, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, with his loving family by his side, Mr. Edward John Power in his 84th year. Predeceased by his wife, Gertrude (nee Dwyer) on March 10, 2002, parents, John and Bridget Power of Carbonear; his brothers, Maurice, Tom, Jack, and Mike; sisters, Anna, Mary Ann, Gert, Nel, Rose and Maisie; precious granddaughter, Thais Dawn Power and son-in-law, Chuck MacDonald. Left with precious loving memories are sons, George (Theresa) of Gander, Mike (Janet) of Gander, Edward (Leslie) of Gander, James (Natalie) of Gander, John (Cathy) of Nova Scotia, Maurice (Donna) of British Columbia, Darryl of Gander and Thomas of Gander; daughters, Sheila (Roger) Toupin of Quebec, Patricia (Leo) Brazil of Gander, Bridget (the late Chuck MacDonald) of Gander, Joan (Barry) Granter of Nova Scotia, Mary (Rod) MacDonald of Gander, Gertrude (Murray) Strickland of Gander; 27 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; very special nephew, Jack Power; and a very large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on May 27th at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Gander. If one so desires, donations can be made to the Lions Club (Trust Fund) for the kidney dialysis unit, Gander. Arrangements entrusted to Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

SHEPPARD, Eric -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on May 26, 2002, Mr. Eric Sheppard of Carmanville in his 87th year. Predeceased by his parents, Absalom and Harriett; two brothers, Harvey and Dorman; and three sisters, Chloe Sheppard, Bessie Bursey and Rosabel Sheppard. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Marion; two sons, Wallace and his wife Mary of Carmanville and Scott and his wife, Clarice of Gander; two grandchildren, Christopher and Stephen; and a large circle of other relatives and friends Funeral service took place on May 28th from the United Church in Carmanville. Interment at the United Church Cemetery in Carmanville. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home Ltd., Carmanville/Gander.
