HOPKINS, Eric
Passed peacefully away at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 Eric Hopkins of Wesleyville in his 83rd year. Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mabel Hopkins; wife Barbara; brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Annie Hopkins; nephew Roddick Hopkins; parents-in-law Ross and Lydia Sturge. Left with fond and loving memories are his daughter Daphne (Louis Hibbert); sister Bernice (Wilson Edison); several nieces, nephews, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at The Salvation Army Citadel, New-Wes-Valley on Friday, March 24, 2017 with Captain's Roxanne and Osbourne Randell officiating. Interment followed at The Salvation Army Cemetery, New-Wes-Valley. As an expression of sympathy donations in his memory may be made to the Hopkins family. SMITH, Gerard
Passed away peacefully at Lakeside Homes, Gander on March 10th 2017 Gerald I. Smith age 87 year. Predeceased by his parents Matthew and Priscilla Smith, brother Albert. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Eudora Smith of Gander, sons Gerry (Mary) of Gander, Gary (Shirley) of Fort Mac Murray , Sister-in-law Verna Smith of Appleton, grandchildren Sonia (Ross) Patey , Nikki (John) Walbourne , Gerry (Lacy) and their mother Susie Smith , Adam and Marina , great grandchildren Brooke, Kylei, Jakson, Anna and Ash. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. In keeping with Gerald's wishes cremation has taken place. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Gerald's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements entrusted to Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander/Carmanville.

STAPLES, Ruby Eileen
November 7, 1922 - March 8, 2017

Passed away at lakeside Homes, Gander, NL. On Wednesday March 8, 2017 Ruby Eileen (Rowsell) Staple, nee Spencer in her 95th year. She was predeceased by her husband's Chelsey & Corwin. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her brother, a daughter, a son, 2 granddaughters, 3 great grandchildren, many cousins and a wide circle of friends. In keeping With Ruby's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Martins Anglican Cathedral, Gander at a later date followed by an interment service at All Saints Cemetery. WILLIAMS, Mary
Mary Williams
passed away peacefully surrounded by family at James Paton Memorial Health Center in Gander, NL. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1966, grandson Rene in 1998 and her daughter Yvonne in 2000. Mary was born in Sweet Bay on July 4, 1919. She moved to Gander in 1946 and married the love of her life, George Williams in 1950. They had five children, Linda, Terry, Yvonne, George, Mary, eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Mary spent her life as a mother and friend to all. Her sense of humor, generosity and kindness will be forever cherished. Highly devoted to her faith, she was passionate about sewing and quilting, and loved her garden and card games. She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed living at home until the end. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, March 30th at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. Interment followed the Common Wealth Cemetery.
