BARTLETT, Jean Viola (nee Luther)
Passed on: March 30th, 2013

Passed peacefully away at the Lions Manor, Placentia on March 30, 2013, Jean Bartlett of Sunnyside and Gander, aged 85 years. Predeceased by her husband Harry, brothers George and Les, sister Myrtle Russo, daughter in law Diane Bartlett, son in law Roland Reid. Left with fond and loving memories are her son Peter; daughter Shirley Reid; sisters Lillian Walsh, Rose Griffiths and Marie Parsons. Grandsons Kurt (Natalie), Karl (Lesley), Douglas (Leah), Steven (Jackie), Philip (Lisa), two precious great granddaughters Lyla and Brooke; niece's Melvie Burry and Judy Beck. Also leaving to mourn, friend Robert Piercey, as well as a number of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and the funeral service will be at a later date. In her memory donations may be made to the NL Alzheimer's Society or a charity of ones choice. The family would like to express it's thanks to the staff of the Clarenville Retirement Center and Lions Manor in Placentia.

BLACKWOOD, Fred
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Fred Eldon Roy Blackwood announce his sudden passing at James Paton Memorial Hospital on March 2, 2013, age 83 years. Fred leaves to mourn his wife Hertha (nee Genge) of 61 years; his children Ruth (Wayne Anstey), Randy (Jenny Frost), Karen (Glen Gordon), Roy (Doreen Briffett), and Jane (Bert Hynes); his grandchildren Jolynn, Jeremy, Gerald, Ashley, Richard, Matthew, Sarah, Rebecca, Simon, April, Joshua, Amy, and Gregory; great-grandchildren Jonah, Seth, Asya and Naomi; also a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Fred enjoyed life to the fullest, was an avid walker and had a great love for the outdoors and he will be greatly missed. Thank you to the doctors and staff of James Paton Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral was held at Faith United Church on March 5, 2013.

COLES, Ada
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all, on March 12, 2013 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Ada Deborah Coles age 72 years of Carmanville. Predeceased by her parents; Frederick and Hazel Barrow, son; Edward and granddaughter; Diana. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband; Garfield, son; Carl (Maria) of Kitchener, Ont, daughters; Geraldine (Sheldon Coles) of Carmanville, Mona (Bruce Pinsent) of Musgrave Harbour, Mary (Fraser Hayward) of Brampton, Ont, daughter-in-law; Serana Angell of Carmanville, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 5 brothers, 5 sisters and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service was held on March 15, 2013 at The Salvation Army, Carmanville with Major Donna Anstey officiating. Interment followed at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Carmanville. Predeceased by her parents; Eslie and Lucy Rogers, husband; Bela, daughter; Beulah, brother and sister-in-law; George and Laura Rogers, son-in-law; Clayton Anthony and brother-in-law; William Langor. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons; Harrison (Trixie)of Centreville, Gerald (Linda) of Trinity, George (Wanda) of Labrador City, Norman (Theresa) of Fogo Island, Arthur (Geraldine) of Wareham, Robert (Daisy) of Charlottetown, Labrador, Ross (Marie) of Centreville, Kevin (Kimberly) of Centreville and Terry of Toronto, Ontario, daughters; Dorothy Anthony of Clarke's Beach, Shirley Glover of Ottawa, Ontario, Marilyn (Baxter Dyke) of Trinity and Joanne (Max Fancy) of Wareham, brother; Clyde Rogers (Shirley) of Trinity, sister; Allie of Gooseberry Cove, 29 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on March 11, 2013 at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity with Rev. David Coffin officiating. Interment followed from St. Alban's Anglican Church Cemetery, Trinity. Passed away at Lakeside Home, Gander on Saturday, March 9th, 2013 Mrs. Neta Greene of Carmanville in her 102nd year. Predeceased by her parents Susan and Acqilla Cuff, husband George Greene (1980), and brothers Wilbert, Ronald and Roland. Left with loving memories are her son Fred Greene (Gloria) of Carmanville, daughter Hazel Newbury (Gerald) of Mount Pearl, 7 grandchildren David (Joanne), Beverly (Seymour), Charlene (Conway), Steven, Lora (Jim), Karen (Scott), and Susan (Steve), 9 great grandchildren Jessica, Ryan, Ashley, Amanda, Brian, Douglas, Anna, Matthew, and Sarah. Also a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, March 12th from United Church, Carmanville. Interment United Church Cemetery, Carmanville with Rev. - Passed away peacefully at Lakeside Homes, Gander, NL March 18, 2013, age 92 years. Melvie was born in Catalina, Trinity Bay, NL to parents Bertha & Gordon House. Melvie spent most of her adult life in Toronto. Predeceased by her parents, husband Vernon, son Gordon, brothers Aster & Albert. Survived by son Ronald (Lindy) Australia, daughter-in-law Meredith Hutchings Halifax, NS, grandchildren Ben, Sam, Matthew and Marlee, step-sister Ruth Hiscock Clarenville, NL, Donna Young St. John's, NL and a large circle of family & friends. POND, Murray
(April 10, 1925 - March 14th, 2013)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Murray Pond, of Gambo, aged 87. He is predeceased by his wife Daisy. Murray was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters Judy (Melvin) Goulding, Sheila (Hughie) Stares, Beryl (Jeff) Stanley, Glenys (Roy) Douglas; grandchildren, Keira, Shane, Sheena, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Amanda, Steven; great-grandson and hockey buddy, Koby; sisters, Marion Pond, Ada Efford, Maisie Pond, Betty (George) Badcock as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Monday, March 18th, 2013 Kathleen Tulk, age 59.
