ABBOTT, Annie

Passed peacefully away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Mrs. Annie Beatrice Abbott of Musgrave Harbour in her 93rd year. Pre-deceased by her parents Luke and Bertha Abbott, husband Willard, sisters Audrey Hicks, Zena Abbott, brother-in-law Harry Hicks and nephew Donald Abbott. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are nephews Dave Hicks (Diane) of Mount Pearl, Randy Hicks (Nancy) of Musgrave Harbour, Ross Hicks (Judith) of Musgrave Harbour, nieces Hazel Tulk (Melvin) of Aspen Cove, Linda Abbott of Kilbride, great- nephews Jerry Hicks of Ontario, Daniel Hicks of Musgrave Harbour, great-nieces Sylvia Hicks of St. John's, Coralee Hammond of Alberta, Trena Tulk of Paradise, Bernadine Abbott of Musgrave Harbour, Sherry Hicks of Gander, Hillary Hicks of Mount Pearl, Taylor Hicks of Mount Pearl, great-great nephew Aiden Tulk of Paradise. Funeral service to took place on Monday, June 4th from St. Luke's United Church in Musgrave Harbour with Rev. Lorne Bungay officiating. Interment followed from St. Luke's United Church Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove. KENDELL, Leroy
It is with great sadness that the family of Leroy Kendell announces his passing on Monday June 4, 2018 at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer. Leroy will be lovingly remembered by his wife Donna, his son Craig (Theresa Sengl),his daughter Julia (John Skinner), and his grandchildren, Tyler, Jackson, Sara, Laura and his canine companion LuLu.He will also be greatly missed by his sisters Maybelle Way (Clyde), Winnie Munden (Allan) and his brothers Melvin (Audrey), Roland (Marie), Norman (Helen) and a large circle of extended family and friends. Leroy was predeceased by his parents Caroline Durnford and FitzGordon Kendell and by his brother Allan Kendell. When Leroy wasn't spending time with family, he enjoyed boating, fishing, snowmobiling, playing hockey and visiting The Homestead in Morrisville, Bay d'Espoir. A visitation will be held at Stacey's Funeral Home in Gander on Wednesday, June 6 from 2-4 pm. A celebration of Leroy's life will take place in his home town of Morrisville, Bay d'Espoir at a later date.

KNEE, Derrick John
July 22, 1961 - June 29, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Derrick Knee announces his passing at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre on Friday June 29, 2018 at the age of 56 years. He was predeceased by his grandparents Augustus & Margaret Knee & Leslie & Mary Winter. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his parents Jack & Lottie Knee; brother Jim Knee; aunt Katie Haws of St. John's; uncles: Gregory (Violet)Winter of St. Johns, George (Susie) Winter of Valleyfield, Bruce (Margaret) Winter of St. Johns and also a large circle of cousins, other relatives and friends. In keeping with Derrick's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family will be receiving friends at Stacey's Funeral Home, 60 Roe avenue, Gander on Monday July 2, 2018 between the hours of 2-4 p.m. A private family service funeral service will take place at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. officiated by Reverend Brian Candow with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Derrick's memory may be made to the Central Northeast Health Foundation. MARTIN, David Thomas Martin
It is with great sadness that the family of David Martin announce his passing on Wednesday, June 20th at the age of 66 at home surrounded by his loving family. Left to mourn is his loving wife Karen, daughter Amy, son Peter (Julie) & three precious grandchildren Ben, Max & Maggie. Brothers Mike (Mary), Clarence (Bev), Greg (Margie), Felix (Judy), William (Joy), Charlie, Neil (Elaine), Sisters Clo, Mildred (John DuBourdieu), Bridget (John King), Loretta (Michael McCarthy deceased), Marian (Brian White), Eileen (Eric LaPointe), Special Sister Doreen (Ben Martin) and a large number of nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Dave. David was predeceased by parents Mary & William Martin. Born in Brents Cove, David was a successful entrepreneur who founded D.T. Martin Ltd in Gander in 1977. He was also an avid athlete and hiker who loved camping, boating and fishing in the summers. The family will be receiving friends at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander on Friday June 22, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday June 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Father William Hearn with interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, blood donations at Canadian Blood Services would be greatly appreciated.

MERCER, Norma
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother Norma Mercer (nee Bishop) at the age of 62 surrounded by her loving family. As we are heartbroken to lose you, we find comfort in knowing you are at peace with the Lord and reunited with those you loved so dearly. Leaving to celebrate her life with precious memories are her devoted and loving husband of 44 years, Wayne, her children and her pride and joys Jason (Carol-Ann), Amanda (Donnie), Paula (Carson); her dearest and cherished grandchildren Cameron, Adlee, Michaela, Jared, Bethany and Georgia, her loving and caring siblings Doug Bishop (Charlotte), Audrey Smith (Graham) and Bernice Parsons (Edward), sister and brother-in-laws Ray and Elaine Fowler, Paul and Blanche Mercer, Carl and Michelle Mercer and a large circle of family and friends. Norma is predeceased by her beloved Parents Hellen (Nellie) and John Bishop; Sibling Sylvia; Mother and Father in law Arthur and Audrey Mercer.
Resting at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wing's Point on Monday, June 25th starting at 6:30 P.M., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday starting at 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 28th at 2:00 P.M. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Davidsville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma's memory may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
Norma lived her life as a happy, generous, kind hearted person. She approached each day with courage, optimism and determination, never complaining but instead always reaching out to help others. Norma was truly an inspiration to us all. She was lucky enough in her life to have many close friends and was loved by everyone who had the privlege of knowing her especially her family.
We are forever grateful for the incredible support we received during Norma's illness. As Norma remained at home, the phone calls and support we received was truly amazing and reflective of her giving heart. We are eternally gratefully.

NOSEWORTHY, William Roy
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, William (Bill) Noseworthy who passed after a battle with cancer on June 13th 2018 at the age of 66. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his children Chris (Heather), Melanie, Angela (Todd) and Dakotah (Jason and little Dexter). He will be fondly remembered by his father, William (Minnie), his sisters Virginia, Barbara, Linda (Mike) and Colleen (Jim). Moreover, he will be missed by grandchildren: Autumn, Sebastian, Jaxon, Christopher, Sarah, Eva, Gabe, Hudson and Finn and the mothers of his children Eunice and Valda (Denis). Bill will be eagerly met at the gates of heaven by his mother Carrie, brothers Walt and Tony, grandchild Madison and beloved dog Codey. A service will be held in his honor at The Salvation Army Citadel in Gambo, NL on Monday, June 18th at 2:00 PM. Internment to follow at the Salvation Army cemetery. Those who so desire can make donations directly to the family.

PEARCE, Joseph
July 22, 1947 - June 27, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Pearce announces his passing at the Central Regional Northeast Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor on Thursday June 27, 2018 at the age of 70 years. He was predeceased by his parents Richard & Nora Pearce; brothers: John, Jerry; sister Mary; great granddaughter Oaklynn; brother-in-law Terry. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Philomena; daughters: Monica (Derrick), Julia (Billy), Krista (Willie) all of Norris Arm; grandchildren: Dillan (Nichelle), Danielle (Sheldon), Alexandrea, Hudson, Parker; brothers: Bill of Grand Falls-Windsor, Richard (Pat) of Ontario; sisters: Esther (James) of Norris Arm, Bridget (Nick) of Lewisporte, Marion of Wabush, Julia (Mario) of Quebec, Pauline of Ontario, Florence (Andrew) of Botwood. Family will be receiving friends at Stacey's Funeral Home, 60 Roe avenue, Gander on Monday July 2, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. In keeping with Joseph's wishes cremation to take place with interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy no flowers by request donations in Joseph's memory may be made to the Pearce family.
