Passed away peacefully at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander June 28th 2016 Mary Anne (Annie) Best age 86 years. Predeceased by husband James (2004) parents William and Cecilia Hogan, brothers Jack and Greg, sister Elizabeth. Left with loving memories are sons Jim (Marcie) of Amherstburg, ON., Dave (Pam) of Gander, daughters Theresa (Gerry) Lyver of Bishops Falls, Jackie (Doug) Stiers of Essex, ON., Geraldine (William) Carroll of Ottawa, ON., 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also a large number and family and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral home, Gander. Funeral Mass was held Saturday, July 2nd 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gander. BUFFETT, Lillian E.
May 24, 1929 - June 3, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lillian E. Buffett announce her passing at the Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield on Friday June 3, 2016 at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: Harold (Linda) Moore of Glenwood, NL, Darren (Diane) Buffett of Fort McMurray, AB; daughters: Gloria Stuckless, Judy (Eugene) Kinden, Sharon (Kirk) Walsh all of Glenwood, NL; grandchildren: Paula (Perry), Megan (Russell), Crystal, Glen, Dean (Tina), Christopher (Monique), Justin, Jonathan (Crystal-Lee), Matthew (Jenna); great grandchildren: Aiden, Ava, Jaxon, Maverick, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jack; son-in-law Llewelyn Stuckless; brothers: Fred, Jack, Ward, Lloyd; sisters: Pearl and Margaret. Predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth, wife Cora, brothers Kevin, William, Ralph, and sister Priscilla. HISCOCK, A Dawson
Sept 12, 1930 - June 5, 2016

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Dawson Hiscock, announce his passing following a short, but very courageous battle with a recent illness. Born on Flat Island, Bonavista Bay, Dawson was the youngest son of (the late) Thomas and Lydia (Ralph) Hiscock. Dawson is predeceased by his wife, Mary, her parents Llewellyn and Rachel Ralph, his brothers Mark (Nellie), and Jonas Hiscock, nephew Thomas Hiscock and grandson Andrew Dawson Brocanier. Leaving to mourn with broken hearts but loving memories, his sons David (Collinette, nee Tucker), Wade (Sandra, nee Brown), one daughter Valerie (Robin Brocanier), grandson David Hiscock (Kim, nee Duffett), granddaughters Julia Hiscock (Jon Lodge), Jennifer Hiscock (Brandon Feltham), and Taylor Brocanier (Sawyer Verstraten). Also leaving to mourn sister-in-law Trixie Hiscock, nieces/nephews Jeanette Organ (Melvin), Robert Hiscock (Marjorie), Judy Heffern (Gilbert-deceased), Lydia Deveau (Ivan-deceased), Harold Hiscock, and a large circle of great-nieces/nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents William and Jessie Maher, sister Anne Gardiner, brothers Patrick and William. WEST, Hardy Corbett
Passed peacefully away on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Hardy Corbett West, aged 91. Born in Ladle Cove, Notre Dame Bay December 16, 1924, he is predeceased by parents Theophilus and Elaine West, and brothers Wilson and Ronald West (Doris), of Ladle Cove. Leaving to mourn with many fond memories, are wife Doris of Gander; daughter, Sandra Kelly (Ron) of Gander; daughter Sharon McCann (Alan) of Edmonton, Alberta; son, Eric (Claudia), of Ladle Cove; brother Clarence West (Ivy) of Gander; grandchildren, Ronald Kelly (Annie) of Cochrane, Alberta; Sean Kelly (Janet) of St. John's; Kevin McCann (Becky) of Edmonton, Alberta; great grandchildren Tayla, (Jordan), Kael, and Isabel Kelly, all of Cochrane Alberta; and a wide circle of extended family and friends. Hardy grew up in Ladle Cove, one of four brothers. As a young man, he spent time fishing, cutting wood and hunting. In 1942, he moved to Gander to work, eventually becoming a book keeper and office manager with Goodyear Humber Stores. In 1948, he married Doris Wellon, also from Ladle Cove. Together they built a new life, building one of the first houses on the new Gander townsite, and raising three children, Sandra, Sharon, and Eric. Hardy retired in 1984 and spent over 30 years enjoying the great outdoors, especially boating, fishing, and his true passion - gardening. Hardy often returned to Ladle Cove where he and his family spent many summers with family and friends. Hardy was an active, 'behind the scenes' volunteer with many charities, youth and community organizations. He donated his bookkeeping and tax accounting skills to the Church, the Boy Scouts, the Food Bank, and many of Gander's seniors. Hardy will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. Heartfelt thanks are extended to the devoted doctors and nursing staff of James Paton Memorial Hospital. The West family also wish to express their gratitude to the many family members, neighbors and friends who offered kindness and support throughout this difficult time. Funeral Services was held at Fraser Road United Church, interment followed at All Saints Cemetery on Saturday, July 2, at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Central Northeast Health Foundation through Stacey's Funeral Home, or directly to the Foundation at the James Paton Memorial Hospital or by mail P.O. Rosalind Clarissa Lethbridge Willis (Burt)
of Dover, Bonavista Bay, NL, June 6, 1926, passed peacefully away at the James Paten Memorial Hospital on June 1, 2016. Predeceased by Brothers Avalon Pardy and Walter Pardy, sisters Margaret Parsons, Sadie Jones and 2 sons, Selby Willis- May 1972 and Allan (A.) Frank Willis February 2011. Leaving to morn husband William (Bill), Sons Marvin John, (Beatrice), Portugal Cove, NL, Newman, (Madeline), Cochrane, AB, Carson (Pamela), Clarenville, NL, Laurin, (Jane), Dover, NL and Daughters Juanita Button, (Harry), Gambo and Cynthia Rowlands, (Dave),Gander, Sisters Betty Winters, Jean Goodyear and Louise Stratton (Garland), Brother Eldred Pardy, 20 Grand Children and 19 Great grandchildren. She was laid to rest on Sunday, June 5/2016 at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Dover, NL.
