BLANDFORD, Nellie Verona
1926 - 2013

The Blandford family would like to announce the celebration of the life of Nellie Verona Blandford. She passed away at James Paton Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 30, 2013. Nellie was born in Port Blandford on November 7, 1926 to wonderful parents - Annie and Thomas Garrett. Predeceased by her husband Sam, two brothers Austin and Frank and her sister, Edna. Her memory is cherished by son Glen (Sharon), daughter Audrey Elms (Howard), son Bill (Verna), son Gary (Carnah), daughter Sandra (Jeff) and daughter-in-law Judy Blandford. Nine grandchildren - Steve Elms (Kim), Brad Elms (Wendi); David Blandford (Sherri), Amanda Blandford (Warren); Sara Strickland (Matt), Garrett, Jared and Samantha Blandford and Taylor Searle. Six great grandchildren - Jack and Sam Elms, Brynn, Ben and Dylan Elms and Megan Blandford, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Resting at Stacey's Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday July 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Martins Anglican Cathedral. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, James Coward age 64 years of Greenspond. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Marjorie Coward. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Linda; sons Ron (Carla) of Gander and Roger of Greenspond; daughter Tammy (David) of Newtown; grandchildren Adam, Hayley and Kimberly; brother George (Doreen) of Greenspond; mother and father-in-law Ethel and William Parsons of Greenspond; sister-in-law Susan (Gordon) Granter of Greenspond; brother-in-law Roger (Janet) Parsons of Mt. Pearl; several nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service took place at The United Church, Greenspond on Thursday, June 6, 2013 with Rev. Brian Hannon officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Greenspond. Donations in his memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Center, Gander on June 29th 2013 George Albert Curtis age 80 years. Left with loving memories are his wife Louise, son Levi of Fortune, daughters Brenda (Randy) More of Clarenville, Helen (Terry) of Appleton, grandchildren Nathan More, Robin and Brent Martin, bothers Frank (Vera) Curtis of Frederickton, NB., sisters Betty (Stan) Bessy of Port aux Basque, Jessie Rothman, of Arnold's Cove, Bertha (John) Hunt of St. John's, brothers-in-law Bill (Sally) Bungay of St. John's, Wayne (Rose) Bungay Grand Falls-Windsor, sister-in-law Elizabeth (Rodney) Barney of Lanse Au Loup. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend Maxine Beatrice Francis, age 60, of Clarkes Head, Gander Bay. She passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander on Saturday, May 26, after a battle with cancer. Predeceased by her father, Dominic and sister Andrea. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her mother; Inez, son; Steve, granddaughter; Madison, brothers; Reg (Pauline), Dalton (Cathy), Ira (Gwen), and Philip, sisters; Marie, Joan (Fred), Selma (Cliff), Christine (Dick), Joanne (Larry), and Yvonne (Bob), and 12 nephews, 4 nieces, and other relatives and many friends. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a dear loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother; Gordon Freake, age 91 years at JPMRHC, Gander, NL, June 15th, 2013. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his 5 children Roy, Reginald (Ruth), and Eric (Sylvia), Phyllis (Bart) and Doris (John), brother Don, 2 sisters, Mary LeDrew, Joyce Hardiman, brother-in-law Eric Waterman, sister-in-law Ruby Collins and special niece Ina Coffin, 12 grandchildren, Dwayne, Michael, Eddie, Tracey, Vicki, Matthew, Jessica, Shayne, Kayla, Mark, Lindsay, Cody, 8 great-grandchildren Christopher, Natalie, Jacob, Matthew, Evan, Cora, Cameryn, Riley and many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his Loving wife Ivy Rita Waterman, son Stanley, parents Obed & Elizabeth, brother Harvey, 4 sisters Ina, Charlotte, Rita and Stella, Step-brother James. Funeral service was held at St. George's Anglican Church, Boyd's Cove June 19th, 2013. Predeceased by her parents; Gertrude and William Melindy and Ida and George Gray, husband; Reginald Canning, brothers; Joseph Melindy, Jacob Gray, Jabez Gray and Caleb Gray. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband; Barry Hicks, sons; Kevin Canning (June McDonald) of St. John's and Dana Canning (Kimberly) of Conception Bay South, daughter; Leeann (Chris) of Strathmore, Alberta, brother; Otto Gray (Barbara) of Gander, sisters; Cassie Chaulk of Deadman's Bay, Dorcas Cuff of Lumsden and Neta Toms of St.John's, grandchildren; Holly, Andrew, Julie, Melissa, Shayna, Cody, Jonathan and Jacob and a large circle of other family and friends. HISCOCK, George
Passed peacefully away at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, on Thursday, June 27, 2013, George Hiscock from St. Chad's in his 98th year. Predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Ena, in 2008, sister Maud, brothers, Eli and Sylvestor, son-in-law Gerald Prince. Left to mourn four daughters: Mary (Marvin) Penney, Bloomfield, Ivy Prince(Gerald) deceased, Gloria (Leonard) Durdle, and Cynthia (Geoff) Pretty, all of Grand-Falls Windsor, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Ruth Hiscock and Rita King, nieces, nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Oram's Funeral Home, Eastport with visitation Friday evening from 7-9pm and Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral was held on Sunday at 2:30pm from St. James Anglican Church, St. Chad's with interment at the Anglican Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory to St. Jame's Church or The Carmelite House.

HURLEY, Joy
Passed peacefully away at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on Monday, June 10, 2013, Mrs. Joy Hurley of Musgrave Harbour in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her parents; Jim and Esther Pinsent, husband; Lindsay Hurley, daughter; Elitena Mouland, very special great-grandson; Gregory Mouland, two brothers; Stanley Pinsent and Augustus Pinsent, and two sisters; Lillian Maud Abbott and Effie Pinsent. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are son-in-law Newman Mouland of Musgrave Harbour, sister-in-law Barbara Pinsent of Musgrave Harbour, three grandchildren Peggy Abbott (Bob) of Musgrave Harbour, Dale White (Fabian) of Gander, and Roy Mouland (Faye) of Musgrave Harbour, four great-grandchildren Colin White, Kayla White, Shalynn Mouland, Dane Mouland, several nephews and nieces. Jean (Hiscock) Pond
, Gander, passed away suddenly on June 10, 2013, in her 89th year. Former resident of Grand Falls and Eastport. Predeceased by husband, James, sons James, Munden, and Leslie. Brothers Henry and William. Left to mourn sons, Roger, David (Tannis), Robert (Lynn), Barbara (David) Dunphy, Vera (Michael) Hanlon. Daughters-in-law Wilma, Shirley and Sharon. Brothers Oliver and Arthur (Barbara). Sisters Clarice (Patrick) Callahan, and Gladys Mercer. Sisters-in-law Audrey and Norma. 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Funeral took place on June 15, 2013, from Holy Cross Anglican Church, Eastport, NL. In memory of Jean donation may be made to your charity of choice.

PRITCHETT, Elva
1928-2013

Passed away at James Paton Memorial Hospital on June 25th, 2013, Elva Maud Pritchett (nee Osmond), of Gambo, aged 85 years. Leaving to mourn are her children; Abraham (Cavelle), Morgan (Debbie), and Kimberly (Jerry); her grandchildren; Tina (Les), Mike (Laura), Kimberly (Greg), Jamie, Zachary, Travis, Chelsea (Will), Greg (Emma), Jillian and Cara; great-grandchildren: Alexis, Taylor, Elizabeth and Chloe. Also, a large circle of family and friends. She held a special place in our hearts and will be sadly missed. Resting at Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo. Visitation to be held on Wednesday June 26th from 7pm-9pm, Thursday June 27th and Friday June 28th from 2pm to 9pm and Saturday June 29th from 9am-11am. Funeral to take place Saturday June 29th, 2013 at 1pm at St George's Anglican Church in Gambo. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Gambo. SPURRELL, Ena A.

passed peacefully away at Brookfield Bonnews Health Centre in the presence of her family, on Wednesday June 19, 2013, at the age of 58 years. Ena is predeceased by her parents John & Eleanor Bishop; brother Fred Bishop; sisters, Rhoda (Bruce) Cross, Marjorie Bishop, Beatrice Mesh and Joy Howell. She leaves to mourn her husband Barry; sons, Cory (Terri Lynn), Christopher (Crystal); daughter Cordale (Dion); brothers, Maurice (Rhyna), Aubrey (Judy), Dermot; sisters, Doris (Fred) Cross, Sarah (Bobby) Gee; grandchildren, Marcus, Hannah, Sarah, Leah and Charlotte. Ena was well loved and will be forever remembered by a large extended family and many friends. Rev. John E. K. Nicolle officiated the Funeral service at the St. Alban's Anglican Church on Saturday June 22th, 2013 @ 2:00pm. Interment was at the Anglican cemetery in Badger's Quay.
