and friends.
Viola Diamond was also commonly known as Minnie Dino. At the Diamond house
on "the corner," the door never stopped swinging with a steady stream of visitors.
The young, the old and everyone in between, these were Minnie Dino's friends.
Conversation and confidences flowed freely with Viola usually running the show.
She never sought the limelight but she lived a public life. Among her many
accomplishments she was proudest to be known as the founder and first chief
of the Glovertown Fire Department in 1963. She was a well known Commissioner
of Oaths and Issuer of Marriage Licences. She loved Traytown and Glovertown
and over the decades kept poetic journals of the events and perceptions that
moved her to write. She was fiercely independent and drove her own car into
her 90s. Despite the number of years she lived Minnie Dino was not old. The
twinkle in her eye and the laughter in her voice remained to the end.
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea.

GOULDING, Rowena -
Passed away on June 12, 2009, Rowena Goulding, aged 82, of Gambo. A beautiful
woman lies here today, kind, true and gentle in every way. Her family meant
the world to her. She loved them all beyond compare. She worried and laboured
for everyone else, never one thinking about herself, All who knew of the
good deeds she'd done would say her loving kindness was second to none. Our
hearts are pained, our grief is deep. We lie at night, but cannot sleep.
For we have lost a love so dear. We miss her so much, and will always need
her here. But we know she's now with Jesus, and her loved ones gone before,
and walking happily with them, along God's Golden Shore. We feel her presence
round about and know she is okay. We also know that she will still be with
us day by day. She'll care for us always until our journey's end, and help
guide us through this life until we meet again. Always loved, always in our
hearts, and forever missed by husband, Job; children, Claude (Marg); Ray
