WAGG, (Notley) Barbara Ada -
Passed peacefully away at Riverview Homes, Gander Bay South, Barbara Ada Wagg of Victoria Cove, aged 94 years. Predeceased by her husband, Albert; son, Raymond; grandson, Owen; and sons-in-law, John Gillingham and Tom Gabber. Left to mourn are daughters, Pauline (Steve), Eva (Derek), Cathy, Donna (Leo), Doreen (Nelson); sons, Bill (Jackie), Owen (Ruth). Also left to mourn are 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were conducted from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wing's Point with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Rodgers Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Woolfrey's Funeral Home, Lewisporte. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity one's choice.

HUMPHRIES, Bernice (nee Gilbert) -
Passed peacefully away after a short illness at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Saturday, June 2, 2007, Bernice Humphries, age 69 years. Predeceased by her parents, William and Melena and sister, Shirley. She is survived by her husband, Percy Humphries; 5 children, Pamela (Robert), Peggy (Seymour), Jim (Millicent), Lorne (Peggy Ann) and Rodney (Maria); 6 grandchildren, Melanie, Christopher, Mitchell, Brett, Tamara and Amanda; 4 great-grandchildren, Reese, Liam, Lucas and Jordan; 6 sisters, Nina, Beulah, Jessie, Lena, Christine, Joyce; 2 brothers, Cecil and Wallace; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and a very large circle of friends. Funeral service was held at the United Church, Valleyfield on June 5th with Rev. H. Sandford officiating. Interment followed from the United Church Cemetery, Valleyfield. As an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

SHEPPARD, William Henry -
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital, Brookfield June 2, 2007, William Henry Sheppard, age 70 years of Badger's Quay. Predeceased by his wife, Grace, March 1985, parents, Reginald and Doris and brother, Wilson. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are 4 sons, Lloyd (Paula) of Badger's Quay, Gary (Wanda) of Landsmen, Derek of Badger's Guay, Danny of Badger's Quay; 3 daughters, June Russell (Jim) of Benton, Stella Macfarlane (Murray) of Alberta, Marlene Granter (Frank) of Pool's Island ; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Bill is survived by two sets of twin; Megan - Jack, Daisy - Maude and a twin brother, Noah and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on June 5th at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. Robin Trevors officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Badger's Quay. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

FIFIELD, Loretta May -
Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at the Agnes Pratt Home, St. John's, Loretta May Fifield, formerly of Wesleyville, age 83. Predeceased by her parents, Peter and Sophie Burry; husband, Joseph Fifield; brothers, Wilbert and Cyril; sisters, Millicent Winsor, Gwen LeDrew and Ella Dyke. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons, Bill (Barbara), Wayne (Geri), all of Grand Falls, Peter (Pamela) of Mt. Pearl, Cecil (Brenda) of Deadman's Bay and Watson (Valerie) of St. John's; daughters, Myrtle (Paul Drake) of Mt. Pearl and Gwen (Wayne Humphries) of St. John's, 9 grandchildren, Paulette, Rodney, Dion, Stephen, Kelli, Michael, Justin, Phillip and Erica; 4 great-grandchildren, Clarissa, Deanna, Jorja and Logan; and a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral service took place on June 7th from the Jubilee United Church, Wesleyville with Rev. H. Sandford officiating. Internment followed from the United Church Cemetery, Wesleyville. Arrangements entrust to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

SMYTH, Richard Allan -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on June 6, 2007, Richard Allan Smyth, aged 70 years. Predeceased by his parents, Harry and Marion Smyth of Moncton, NB and brothers, Tom, Robert and Ronald. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Josephine Mary Smyth (Cashin); daughter, Joanne (Darren Feltham) of Paradise, NL, son, Karl (Elana Condon) of Ottawa, ON; grandchildren, Matthew Feltham, Timothy Feltham and Victoria Smyth; as well as a wonderful circle of family and friends. Funeral service was held on June 9th from the Fraser Road United Church, Gander followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery, Gander. Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on June 9, 2007, Phyllis T. Gillingham (nee Webb), aged 82 years, 11 months. Predeceased by her husband, Rybert; parents, Nathaniel and Olive; brothers, Ralph, Paul, Wallace and Brian. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons, Graydon (Sharon) of Angus, ON, Phillip (Leona) of Victoria Cove, NL, and Keith (Juanita) of Victoria Cove, NL; daughter, Gwen (Ira) of Victoria Cove, NL; grandchildren, Darryl, Colin, Andre, Jamie and Corey; and great-grandchild, Justin; as well as a large number of other family and friends. Passed peacefully away on June 11, 2007, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Angela Sunshine Osmond, aged 70 years. Predeceased by her husband, George; parents, Josiah and Naomi Ball; brothers, Calvin and Goldstein Ball; sister, Florence champion; brothers-in-law, Clifford Thomas and Ralph Barrett. Left with loving memories are sons, Nelson (Gwen) of Gander, Jeff of Gander; daughters, Joy Arnold (Terry) of Glovertown, Wanda Temple (Tom) of Gander; brothers, Fraser Ball (Shirley) of Calgary, Lawrence Ball (Matilda) of Botwood; sisters, Sylvia Barrett of Gander, Beulah Tomas of Bishop's Falls, Cora Rideout of Montreal, Phyllis Anderson (Cecil) of Bishop's Falls; grandchildren, Nadine and Kelsey Arnold, Amanda and Jeffrey Temple, Zackery, Troy and Sarah Osmond; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. POWELL, Maisie -
With sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maisie Powell of Happy Adventure, aged 85 years. After a lengthy illness, she entered into eternal rest on June 12, 2007 at Lakeside Homes, Gander. She is predeceased by her parents, Richard (1953) and Lily (1988) Powell; brothers, Howard (1961) and Sidney (1998); granddaughter, Baby Fulford (1984); sons-in-law, Dennis Fulford (1988), Ted Penney (2006) and husband, Linch (2006). Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her three daughters, Vina Penney, Beulah (Eugene Moss), Eldene (Lee Ennis); grandchildren, Sharon (Blair Sparkes), Andrea (Peter Thiveos), Cindy (Todd Feltham), Charla (Ryan Maarschalk), Melanie, Joe and Jared Fulford; great-grandchildren, Kassi and Evan Thiveos, Cameron and Caitlin Sparkes, Liam and Jesse Maarschalk; one brother-in-law, Frank (Vera) Powell; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Babstock, Eldene Powell and Annie Blanche Penney; special niece and nephew, Colleen and Roger Powell and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral s service was held at Good Shepherd United Church in Happy Adventure with interment at Good Shepherd Cemetery.

POPE, William -
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on Thursday, June 13, 2007, William Pope, age 78 years of Pool's Island. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Alfreda Pope, sisters, Annie Hoyles and Carrie Hoyles; brother-in-law, Walter Sheppard. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Sophie; son, Willis (Sandra) of Pool's Island; daughters, Josephine Pelley (Jim) of Gander, Florence Pope of Badger's Quay, Tracey Hoyles (Scott) of Badger's Quay; sisters, Margarite Sheppard of Labrador City, NL, Sophia Barefoot (Leo) of Pool's Island; brothers-in-law, Hayward Hoyles of Pool's Island, Edward Hoyles of Pool's Island, grandchildren, Gregory Pope, Travis Pelley, Nicholas Pope; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at St. James Anglican Church, Pool's Island on June 16th with Rev. Robin Trevors officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Pool's Island. WALSH, Ralph -
Passed peacefully away at his home in Glenwood on Sunday, June 17, 2007, Ralph Walsh, aged 82 years. Predeceased by his parents, Martha and Joseph Walsh; brothers, Wilfred, Thomas, Aloysius and Albert; sisters, Nora, Winnifred and Esmerieda. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Viola; sons, Wade (Pauline) of Corner Brook, NL and Kirk (Sharon) of Glenwood, NL; daughters, Diane (Kevin) of Carbonear, NL, Donna (Wayne) of Foxtrap, NL and Debbie (Dennis) of Paradise, NL; grandchildren, Stephen Walsh, Jason Walsh, Jeffery Walsh, Christopher Walsh, Justin Walsh and Nichole Slade; as well as a large number of other family and friends. Funeral service was held at First United Church, Glenwood on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, followed by interment at the United Church Cemetery, Glenwood. TORRAVILLE, Roy (1930-2007) -
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roy Torraville announces his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on June 18, 2007 at the age of 76. Roy was a member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Grand Falls-Windsor. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Lena; sons, Bruce (Marilyn) of Aspen Cove, Robert (Isabell) of Toronto, ON; stepson, Harold of Toronto, ON; daughters, Gerri (Kenton Klippenstein) of Strathmore, AB, Cindy (Gene Poffenroth) of Calgary, AB, Pansy (Bryan Wright) of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn are 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; along with a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Robert Cannon conducted the funeral service at the Kingdom Hall on June 20th. Interment was at the Cemetery of the Jehovah Witnesses in Grand Falls-Windsor. Passed away at Brookfield Hospital on Monday, June 25, 2007, Mr. Melvin Goodyear of Musgrave Harbour in his 85th year. Predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Esther Jane Goodyear; five brothers, Frederick, Ralph, Ronald, Gerald and Raymond; and two sisters, Laura Parsons and Emeline Goodyear. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Ruby; son, Clarence (Doreen) of Roddickton; daughter, Pauline Cooze (Emerson) of Badger's Quay; brother-in-law, Clarence Vincent (Selma) of St. John's; three sisters-in-law, Jean Goodyear of Musgrave Harbour, Joan Goodyear of Gander and Mollie Goodyear of Port Blandford; three grandchildren, Carla Bellefleur (Luc) of Moncton, NB, Michael Goodyear of Halifax, NS and Andrew Way of Badger's Quay; a number of nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on June 28th at the United Church in Musgrave Harbour. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour with Rev. Heather Sandford officiating. HANSEN, Paul R. (October 13, 1948 - June 25, 2007) -
Passed peacefully away at his home in Cornwall, ON, Paul Hansen, age 58, formerly of Gander. Predeceased by his parents, William and Delvina Hansen, brother, Olaf Hansen and sister, Doris Smits. Left behind with fond and loving memories are his wife of 36 years, Betty (Shugarue) Hansen, daughters, Erika Hansen (Chris Vanexan) of Toronto, and Gretchen Oake (Brad) of Gander and precious grandson, Jaxon Oake. He is survived by brothers, Gerry Hansen (Rose) of Carleton Place, ON, Arnold Hansen (Francis) of Moncton, NB, Leo Hansen(Marjorie) of Chatham, NB; dear friends, Wayne and Linda Hardiman of Gander and a large circle of family and friends. Paul's life was celebrated at the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home in Cornwall on Friday, June 29 and friends and family will be received at Stacey's Funeral Home in Gander at a later date. Donations in Paul's name can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

PITCHER, Sharon (Boone) -
Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, Sharon Elaine Pitcher, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was 48. Predeceased by her mother, Stella (Chafe) Boone. Left to mourn are father, George Boone; partner, Andre Kelly; sons, Adam and Matthew and their father, Paul and the Pitcher family; sisters, Deborah (Chris Rideout), Carol (Maurice Jenkins), Janet, Michelle (Rod Goulding); brother, Doug (Angela) and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Stacey's Funeral Home in Gander. Funeral service was held on June 29th at the United Church, Gander. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery in Grand Falls-Windsor.

BURRY, Marina -
Passed peacefully away at her residence in Greenspond on June 30, 2007, Marina Burry (Wicks), age 42 years. Predeceased by her grandparents, Carrie and Noah Burry and Gordon and Ethel Wicks. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Randy Burry; parents, Donald and Edwina Wicks; brother, Gerald Wicks (Cathy) of Greenspond; sisters, Penny Stokes (Gerald) of Cape Freels, Cheryl Wicks (Wayne) of Greenspond; nephew, Justin Wicks; nieces, Kristen and Jenelle Stokes; and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service took place at the United Church, Greenspond on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 with Rev. Heather Sandford officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Shambler's Cove. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound-Musgrave Harbour.
