ANSTEY, Edith "Minnie"
Passed away peacefully at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on Friday, January 15th, 2016, Edith "Minnie" Anstey, age 92. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Daisy Mutford, husband Leonard Anstey, son Eric, daughters Doreen and Evelyn, brothers Bert, George, and Fred. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her sons Gerald (Carol) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Ross (Bernice) of Twillingate, Aubrey (Claudine) of Gander, Kevin (Zee) of Medicine Hat, AB, son-in-law Patrick Shallow, grandchildren Denise Smith, Jennifer Clarke, Heather Anstey, Michael Shallow, Doug Shallow, Nancy Wiertz, Terry Anstey, Greg Anstey, Christopher Anstey, Sean Anstey, Justin Anstey, Leonard Anstey, Kevin Anstey, 19 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 19th at 2:00 P.M. from St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery. BATES, Chesley
Passed peacefully away at Carmelite Home in Grand Falls on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, Mr. Chesley Bates, age 81. Predeceased by his wife Maggie, Brothers: Lewis and Gerald, mom Annie and father Reginald. Left to mourn with loving memories is wife Thelma, step-daughters Wanda Bursey, Tina Wiseman (Jeffrey), granddaughter Jennifer Bursey, cousins and friends. Rested at Oram's Funeral Homes in Eastport, funeral service was held on Saturday, January 23rd at 2:00 p.m. Anglian Church, Eastport.

CUTLER, Jennifer
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, St. John's on Monday, January 25, 2016 Jennifer Cutler age 46 years of St. John‘s (formerly of Centreville). Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Gary; son Joshua; daughter Alyssa; parents Winston and Lorna; parents-in-law Clayton and Ellen; brothers Sheldon (Janet) of Ottawa, ON and Gregory (Crystal) of St. John's; sister-in-law Germaine (Watson Hunt) of Wareham; nieces Madison, Mallory, Sabrina and Nikita; nephews Robert and Ryder and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at the St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville on Friday, January 29, 2016 with Rev. Tim Graham officiating. Interment followed at The Anglican Cemetery, Wareham. "Believe in me". These are not just words. To Jennifer this was a way of life. During her 4 ½ years of living with Cancer she embraced these words and it became who she was. Her infectious positive attitude and ever inspiring outlook on life motivated many. She is a beautiful person inside and out. Jennifer has a certain glow about her which makes those around her feel uplifted and inspired. Her undeniable faith gave her the strength to take on this challenge and gave her the opportunity to show people how to live life. Her message was simple; be kind, be true, love and above all BELIEVE. Jennifer had an incredible desire to live life to its fullest and enjoy each moment. Her faith and unwavering belief brought her through an amazing journey and touched the lives of so many. We are blessed to know the love of such an amazing soul and through our sorrow find peace in knowing all we have to do is believe. As a husband, son and daughter our hearts will always be broken, but through Jennifer our faith will never be compromised. GATES, Tina
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved on at The Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, AB. on Sunday, January 24, 2016 Tina Darlene Gates age 41 years of Brookfield. Tina taught at Northlands Division No. 61 Atikameg School (1998 - 2001), Atikameg, AB and Calling Lake School (2001 - 2015), Calling Lake, AB. Tina began her career teaching in the northern community of Atikameg, AB. She had a passion for teaching and taught students at the Grade 3 Level. Tina moved to the hamlet of Calling Lake where she continued teaching for the past 15 years. Tina was well respected by her colleagues, students and families in Calling Lake. She had a big heart, enjoyed life and the laughter it brought to those around her. She is predeceased by her grandparents Duncan Gates, Maggie Burry and Peter Burry. Tina leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving spouse Paul Deveau; precious and cherished son Ethan; loving parents Rosalie and Seymour Gates of Brookfield; brother Justin of St. John's; grandmother Victoria Gates of Brookfield; Paul's parents Michael and Debbie Deveau of North Sydney, NS; his brother Michael Deveau of North Sydney, NS; his sister Susan Deveau of North Sydney, NS; several aunts and uncles; cousins and close friends. Funeral service took place at The Salvation Army Citadel, New-Wes-Valley on Monday, February 1, 2016 with Capt's Osborne and Roxanne Randell officiating. HEAD, Selma
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, January 1, 2016, of Selma Head, of Slemon Park, aged 68 years. Born in Clarke's Head, NL, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Inez (Gillingham) Francis. Survived by her husband Cliff Head; sons Tony (Sharon), Glenwood, NL; Lee, Summerside; very special grandson Shamus Warren; sisters Marie Lawton (Ed), Joan (Fred) Pike, Christine (Dick) Seldon, Joanne Francis (Larry), Yvonne (Bob) Penton; brothers Reg (Pauline), Dalton (Cathy), Ira (Gwen) and Philip. Predeceased by her sisters Andrea and Maxine Francis. A private funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Moase Funeral Home Chapel, Summerside, PE. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Unit, would be appreciated. www.moase.ca

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, Mrs. Gertrude Hicks, age 90yrs of Musgrave Harbour. Mrs. Hicks passed away at Lakeside Homes in Gander on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Predeceased by her husband Edgar, daughter Althea, sister Nellie Abbott, brothers Willard Abbott and Winthrop Abbott. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her two sons Randy (Nancy), Ross (Judith) both of Musgrave Harbour, three grandchildren Hillary, Taylor and Daniel. As well as a number of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, January 5th from St. Luke's United Church in Musgrave Harbour with Rev Lorne Bungay officiating. PAYNE, Rita Georgina
Gambo, NL

Sadly we announce the passing of Rita Georgina Payne of Gambo, NL. Age 94 years. She passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL., on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Predeceased by husband Cyril Payne 1999, sons, Calvin Payne 2006 and Baxter Payne 2015, grandsons, Leonard Payne 1967, Shawn Briffett 2015 and son in law Glen Briffett 1999. Leaving to mourn are three sons, Ross (Pat), Edgar, Gary and two daughters, Pauline Warren (Wayne) and Rebecca Briffett (Glen), daughter in law, Gertie Payne (Baxter). One sister, Mamie Moore- Tiller. Also 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Will be sadly missed by her friends at Orams Emmanuel Seniors Home, Gambo, NL., where she resided for the past two years. Resting at Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo, NL. Visitations at 7-9 Thursday January 14th, 2-9 Friday January 15, and 10-12 Saturday January 16th. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday at St. Georges Anglican Church Gambo, NL at 2:00 pm. officiated by Reverend Dicks.

WHITE, Bruce
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Bruce. Bruce was someone who made strangers feel welcomed, family feel loved, individuals feel inspired. After being diagnosed with cancer in November 2013, and given 8-10 months to live. Over 2 years later he battled, enjoyed, laughed and lived every day to the fullest, until Saturday Jan 2, 2016, at the age of 60. Born in Gambo, Newfoundland, May 16, 1955, Bruce is predeceased by his parents Maude and Ambrose White; brother Austin and sister Brenda. Leaving to mourn: the mother of his children, Josie; his children Melanie, Cynthia (Cindy), Bruce James (B.J.); seven grandchildren; sisters Linda, Marg (Jim), Daphne (Pat), Viola, Jean (Peter), Debbie-Ann. Many, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Also a very special friend - Andrea (A.J.). We are having a 24 hr. wake at Pritchett's Funeral Home on Tuesday January 5, 2016 starting at 10:30 AM. The service will be held at the Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday Jan 6, 2016 at 10:30 AM. All are welcome to either.
