PITTMAN, Lester -
Passed away at Glenwood on January 4th, 2005 Lester Pittman age 57 years. Predeceased by parents, Chesley & Edna Pittman. Left with loving memories are his wife, Joan, son, Troy (Michele) of Gander; daughter, Paula (Robert) Brown of Glenwood; brothers, Roy (Donna) Pittman of Dunsford, ON, Gary Pittman of Dieppe, N.B, Glen (Donna) Pittman of Orleans, ON, Paul (Janet) Pittman of Appleton; sisters, Verna (Tony) Bowering of Bay Roberts, Marie (Alton) Reid of Glovertown; grandchildren, Victoria and Samuel Pittman, Tyler Brown; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was held on January 7th at Fraser Road United Church, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Donations in his memory can be made to the Newfoundland Cancer Treatment Research Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation. A husband, father, poppy, who presence will be missed but not forgotten. PERRY, Dorothy Ellen –
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on January 5, 2005, Dorothy Ellen Perry of Pound Cove, aged 71 years. Predeceased by her parents, John and Louella Kean; brother, Samuel Kean; grandchildren, Tanya and Terry Howell; and son-in-law, John Tiller, Jr. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her devoted husband, Baxter; nine children, Roma Howell (Terry) of Templeman, Eileen Hounsell (Lewis) of Grande Prairie, AB, Nellie Howell (Frank) of Grande Prairie, AB, Earl (Wanda) of St. John's, Guy (Phyllis) of Corner Brook, Cheryl Barbour (Donald) of Wesleyville, Carol (Cindy) of Brookfield, Barry (Nadine) of St. John's, Kimberly (Kent Wells) of Pound Cove; 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service was held on January 7th at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Pound Cove with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Pound cove. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary's Anglican Church, Pound Cove, Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

WARREN, Wilfred James –
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on January 19, 2005, Wilfred James Warren, age 66 years. Predeceased by parents, Richard and Phoebe. Left with loving memories are his wife, Rita; sons, Perry (Tina) of Glenwood, Keith (Tracy) of Glenwood; daughters, Denise (Robin) of Glenwood, Phoebe (Stephen) of Glenwood; sister, Louise of Glenwood; seven grandchildren, Kelly-Anne, Joshua, Nicole, Nancy, Aleasha, Amy and William; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral mass was held on January 24th at St. Anne's Roman Catholic church, Glenwood. Interment at Catholic Cemetery, Glenwood. HOWELL, Charles –
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on January 18, 2005, Charles Howell of Gander in his 69th year. Left to mourn his loving wife of 49 years, Clara, son, Fraser, daughter, Cheryl, daughter-in-law, Pam and grandchildren, Natasha, Ryan and Kayla. Charlie was the son of the late Charles and Blanche Howell. Other deceased family members are, sisters, Margaret and Elizabeth; brothers, Obediah and Augustus; brother-in-law, Jabez Tuff and sister-in-law, Marion Spurrell. Left to mourn sister, Clara Tuff (Tom), Alfreda Cooze (Ralph), in-laws, Emma Howell, Bill Jones (Myrtle), Minnie Russell (Jack) and Esau Spurrell (Marion - deceased),. Many close nephews, nieces and friends in Gander and New-Wes-Valley. Funeral service was held on January 21st at St. Mark's United Church , Templeman. Interment at St. Mark's Cemetery.

BULL, Lydia Mary –
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Lydia Bull of Eastport in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husband, Clyde, mother and father, Sarah and Alphaeus Oldford; sisters, Martha and Beryl; brothers, Douglas, Jack and Stratton. Left to mourn two daughters, Joan (Alan) Holman, Plymouth, England, and Betty O'Donnell of Eastport; three grandchildren, Harold (Linda) O'Donnell, Joanne (Paul) Korba of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Chris (Gail) O'Donnell of Tacoma, Washington, U.S.A.; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Mary) Oldford of Burnside; sister, Ida Bradley of Baywatch Manor, Glovertown; and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service was held on January 26, 2005 at Holy Cross Church with Rev. Paul Thoms officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery . Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Holy Cross Church , Eastport, NL., AOG 1ZO.

BUTT, Dorothy Eileen –
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on January 26, 2005, Dorothy Eileen Butt of Gander, born on April 25, 1923. Predeceased by her husband, Leonard in 1977. Left to mourn this kind an gentle woman, son, William (Regina), and daughter, Eileen, both of Gander; beloved grandchildren, Jonathan and Riley; brother, William (Toronto) and sister, Ruby (Gander); as well as a large circle of friends and relatives. Funeral service took place on January 30th at St. Martin 's Anglican Cathedral, Gander . Interment at All Saints Cemetery, Gander. Donations in her memory can be made to the Central Northeast Health Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander .

COLES, Shirley M.
(December 18, 1952 – January 26, 2005) –
Passed away suddenly at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on January 26, 2005, Shirley M. Coles of Aspen Cove, age 52 years. Predeceased by her father, Walter Mouland. Left to mourn her husband of 33 years, Wallace; two sons, Craig (Faye), Keith (Sonya); four grandchildren, Candace, C.J., Lance and Kaitlyn; sister, Faye (Glenn); two brothers, David (Beverly Mouland), Andy David (Beverly Mouland), Andy (Kimberly Mouland); mother, Reta Mouland; father-in-law, Harold Coles; mother-in-law, Lily Coles; brothers-in-law, Barry Coles (Linda), Eddie Coles (Joan); four nieces, Charlene, Arlene, Suzanne and Melissa; five nephews, Sheldon, Andrew, Kirby, Stephen and Adam; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on January 30th at Bethel United Church, Aspen Cove with Rev. Scott Parsons officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Aspen Cove. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.

LEGGE, Haley Elizabeth –
On the 26th of January as our twin girls were born it was not the Lord's will for us to have the both of them, so shortly after birth and a heartfelt battle, Lord said come to me Haley Elizabeth and be my angel. So at 8:35 p.m. she left us forever but will never be forgotten because her sister Emily Madison will show us what they would have been. Left to mourn heartbroken parents, Katherine Dyke and Sean Legge; grandparents, Edward and Arlene Dyke of Pool's Island and Gary and Cynthia Legge of Foxtrap; and a large circle of family and friends that will never forget but always remember. Funeral services were held on January 30, 2005 at St. Mary's Church, St. John's and laid to rest at the Anglican Cemetery .
You came into this world with two loving parents and a wonderful sister not knowing you were only going to be with them only a short while. Haley Elizabeth, you are up into heaven as one of God's little angels and to be with your great-grandparents who will love you dearly. Your sister will always know of you because of your parents who love you with all their hearts and soul. You will be missed my darling angel here in our hearts. Haley Elizabeth, you will never be forgotten as you will be a beautiful bright start in our sky.

MULLETT, Marie –
Passed peacefully away on January 26, 2005 at Brookfield Hospital, Marie Mullett of Wesleyville, age 81. Predeceased by parents, Peter and Maggie Blackwood; grandson, Barry Mullett; sister, Stella Howell; three brothers-in-law, Don Andrews, James Keels and Donald Gibbons. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, John; son, Peter (Alice) of Gander; daughter, Audrey Sheppard (Lawrence) of Lewisporte; brothers, George Blackwood (Olive) of Brookfield, Cyril Blackwood (Marina) of Brookfield and brother-in-law, William Howell of Templeman; sisters, Julia Andres of St. John's, Irene Gibbons of Lumsden, Evelyn Winter (Spencer) of Alberta, Pearl Kean (Albert) of Pound Cove and Marjorie Kells (Bob) of Burington, ON; three grandchildren, Wayne Mullett, Allison Sheppard and Matthew Sheppard; two sisters-in-law, Frances Sheppard (Eric) of Pool's Island, Bertie King of Ontario; caregiver, Shirley Knee of Badger's Quay; and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service was held on January 29th at the United Church , Wesleyville with Captain Rideout officiating. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Wesleyville. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army Building Fund, Wesleyville. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.

PICKETT, Gavrock –
Passed peacefully away on January 27, 2005 at Lakeside Homes, Gander. Gavrock Pickett of Centreville, age 83 years. Predeceased by his parents, Piercy and Lilly Pickett; sons-in-law, Aaron Feltham and Ted Collins; brother, Clarence; sister; Lucy Cutler. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Marion; sons, Leslie ( Frances ) of Wareham , Ralph (Janet) of Ontario ; daughters, Emma Feltham and Joyce Collins, both of Centreville; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on January 30th at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville with Rev. Harry Spurrell officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery , Centreville. Donations in his memory may be to the Alzheimer's Society. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.

MATTHEWS, Gwendolyn –
Passed peacefully away on January 27, 2005 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Gwendolyn Matthews, age 95 years. Predeceased by her husband, Gerald; parents, William and Mary Hillyard; brothers, Andrew, Frederick and Burt. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter, June (Doc) of North Carolina; sister-in-law; Elizabeth Hillyard of South Brook Nursing Home; grandchildren, Paula (Gary) Bryant and David (Kerrie) Burk; great-grandchildren, Keith and Garrett of North Carolina; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held at the United Church, Valleyfield on January 31st with Rev. Heather Sandford officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Valleyfield. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.

CARTER, Alfreda Ruth –
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on January 31, 2005, Alfreda Ruth Carter of Badger's Quay, age 85 years. Predeceased by parents, Job and Deliah Kelloway; brothers, Frank and Woodrow Kelloway; brothers-in-law, Jake Barfoot and Reginald Williams. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Edward; sons, Clyde (Martha) of Badger's Quay, Winston (Donna) of Gander, Barry (Gerry) of Pool's Island; daughters, Shirley Batstone (Gerald) of Valleyfield, Ruby Fifield (Joe) of Valleyfield; sisters, Triffie Barfoot of St. John's, Marie Lawrence (Lemuel) of Portland, Rowena Williams of New Harbour, 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relative and friends. Funeral service was held on February 3rd at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating, assisted by Mrs. Shirley Churchill. Interment followed at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Badger's Quay. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.
