STARKES, Annie -
Passed peacefully away at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on February 1, 2003, Annie Starkes of Pools Island, age 85 years. Predeceased by parents, Stephen and Caroline Starkes; brothers, Stewart, Walter, Albert and Maxwell; sister, Amanda; brothers-in-law, Frank Kelloway, William Warren; sisters-in-law, Eliza and Lillian. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are nephew, Stephen Starkes (Ethel) of Pools Island, with whom she resided prior to becoming a resident of Bonnews Lodge; brother, George Starkes (Daisy) of Badger's Quay; sister, Jessie Kelloway of Brookfield; several nieces and nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on February 4th at St. James Anglican Church, Pools Island with Rev. J. Watton officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Pools Island. Donations in her memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Pools Island. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

BURRY, Sybil -
Passed peacefully away on February 2, 2003, Sybil Burry of Valleyfield, age 60 years. Predeceased by mother, Violet Humphries and infant daughter, Roma. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are husband, Otto; three sons, Grant (Diane) of Valleyfield, Craig (Brenda) of Wesleyville, James (Candace) of Valleyfield; two daughters, Shelly (Cyril) of Valleyfield; Rynette of Valleyfield; brother, Reginald Humphries (Bernice) of Wesleyville; sister, Statie (Cyril Andrews) of Labrador City; two grandchildren, Evan and Myles Burry; father, Gideon Humphries of Wesleyville; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. J. Watton officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Badger's Quay. ABBOTT, Emma -
Passed peacefully away on February 3, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mrs. Emma Abbott of Musgrave Harbour in her 74th year. Predeceased by husband, Wilfred and grandson, Jeffrey. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her four sons, Horace (Grace) of Musgrave Harbour, Dennis (Betty) of Musgrave Harbour, Ellis (Roxane) of Mount Pearl and Bill (Dianne) of Gander; one daughter, Mollie Rhude (Bill) of Gander; one brother, William Mouland (Winnie) of Lewisporte; two sisters, Mollie Groven of Seattle, Washington and Nettie Wilkins of St. John's, 10 grandchildren, Rhonda, Carolyn, Rodney, Vivian, Grant, Shauna, Blair, Stephanie, Heidi and Cameron; seven great-grandchildren, Leah, Alex, Samuel, Kennedy, Sarah, Laura and Julie; and also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on February 6th at the Salvation Army Citadel in Musgrave Harbour. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour. FAHEY, Draper -
Passed away suddenly at sea near Offer Wadham Islands on February 3, 2003, Draper Fahey of Musgrave Harbour in his 24th year. Predeceased by his grandfather, Alphonsus Fahey and his Aunt Wanda Walsh. Left with fond and loving memories are his parents, Alphonsus and Judy of Musgrave Harbour; one brother, Ryan of Musgrave Harbour; one sister, Kimberley of St. John's; grandparents, Betty and Jim Abbott of Musgrave Harbour and grandmother Olive Fahey of Carmanville; a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins; and also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on February 8th at Gill Memorial Academy in Musgrave Harbour. Interment at the United Church Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour. FAULKNER, Danny -
Passed away suddenly at sea near Offer Wadham Islands on February 3, 2003, Danny Faulkner of Musgrave Harbour in his 35th year, along with his father Irving and brother, Darren. Predeceased by grandparents Maxwell and Laura Faulkner and Raymond Goodyear. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Kelly; three daughters, Alexandria, Danielle and Katie-Lynn; mother Margaret Faulkner of Musgrave Harbour; brother Dion (Susan) of Musgrave Harbour; two sisters, Darlene (Jim Rogers) of Gander and Diane Goodyear (Jamie) of Lumsden; grandmother, Jean Goodyear of Musgrave Harbour; six nephews and nieces, Shannon, Samantha, Myles, Kyle, Amanda and Andrew; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edith and Jack Pinsent of Musgrave Harbour; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Haley; sons, Joshua and Tyler; mother, Mildred Hann of Musgrave Harbour, four brothers, George (Mona) of Musgrave Harbour, James (Olive) of Musgrave Harbour, Harry (Kay) of Musgrave Harbour and Wade (Sharon) of Musgrave Harbour; five sisters, Margaret Tippett (Harry) of Manuels, CBS, Judy Martin (Felix) of Gander, Vonnie Hann (Paul) of Halifax, Brenda Porter (Richard) of Halifax and Paula Hopkins (Gary) of Musgrave Harbour, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Grace and Harrison Abbott; and a large number of nieces, nephews and close friends. Passed away suddenly on February 10, 2003 at Brookfield, Walter Norris of Newtown, B. Bay, age 82 years. Predeceased by parents, Esau and Zibiah Norris and two brothers, Carman and William. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Rita; two sons, Roderick of Manuels, William (Kathy) of Newtown; two daughters, Sybil (Abe Payne) of Daniel's Harbour, Annie Pearce of St. John's, two sisters-in-law, Lily (Jake Critch) of Steady Brook, Phyllis Norris of Newtown; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a large circle of friends. Funeral service was held on February 14th At St. Luke's Anglican Church, Newtown with Rev. V. Reid officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Newtown. GLOVER, Arthur -
Passed peacefully away on February 10, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Arthur Glover of Hare Bay, age 75 years. Predeceased by parents, Lewis and Maggie Glover and daughter, Loretta Wheaton. Left to mourn are his wife of 55 years, Viola; four sons, Gerald, Wilfred (Annette), Scarborough, Dean (Melinda), Gambo, Terry (Shirley), Corner Brook; five daughters, Betty (Roger) Demelo, Scarborough, Doreen (Harry) Welcher, Valleyfield, Valery (Frank) Samms, Oshawa, Penny (John) Hiddema, Etobicoke; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held on February 13th at Knox United Church with Rev. Roscoe Cole officiating.

KEATS, Henry -
Passed peacefully away on February 12, 2002 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Henry Lewis Keats, age 75. Predeceased by wife, Julia; son, David; parents, Peter and Harriett Keats; brother, Lindsay; sisters, Trixie, Bertha and Wilhemina. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Eldred (Elizabeth), Gary (Barbara); daughters, Bertha (Michael), Christine (Howard); sisters, Joyce and Myrtle; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

JOHNSON, Alvin James (September 2, 1937 - February 13, 2003) -
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alvin Johnson announces his passing in Gander, Newfoundland, on the evening of February 13, 2003 in his 65th year. Predeceased by his sisters, Shirley and Georgina of Little Catalina, Newfoundland. Left to mourn are his wife of 41 years, Elsie (Hamel); sons, Paul (Bev), Alfred (Karen); daughters, Gina (Jim Barnes), Maxine (Glenn Reid); grandson, Oliver; granddaughters, Jillian and Jenna; his parents, Lucy and Alfred Johnson; sisters, Veta (Gord Hayley), Gladys (Don Kean), Bonnie (Floyd Hobbs); and a large number of dear nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, relatives and special friends, who all loved him very much. Funeral service was held on February 18th at the Calvary Memorial United Church, Little Catalina, Newfoundland.

ROGERS, Ethel -
Passed away on Friday, February 14, 2003 at Brookfield Hospital, Ethel Rogers of Wareham age 86 years. Left to mourn her sad loss with fond and loving memories are her husband, George; sons, Bert, Allen (Diane), Ralph (Audrey); daughter, Dallis (Clayton); and brother Allen. Sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on February 17th at St. John the Baptist Church, Wareham with Rev. R. Osmond officiating. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Wareham. Arrangements by Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

SHEPPARD, Mabel -
Passed peacefully away on February 14, 2003 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Mabel Sheppard in her 80th year. Predeceased by husband, Norman Sheppard. Left with loving memories are daughters, Norma (Carl) Clouter of Gander, Irene (Brian) Rafuse, Marion (Barry) McNeil of Gander, Jean Allan of Gander and Brenda (John) of Lewisporte; grandchildren, Heather, Steven, Marc, Danielle, Andrew, Caitlin, Leah and Alexandra; great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Shantal, Chelsie, Colby and Hailey; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. WHITE, Lloyd Stewart -
Passed peacefully away on February 14, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mr. Lloyd Stewart White, age 67 years. Predeceased by parents, Harold and Dinah White and infant daughter, Dina Marie. Left with loving memories are wife, Dorothy; sons, George of St. John's, Donald Lloyd of Burnaby, BC; daughters, Debra Jean (Kenneth) Stewart of Kingston, ON, Deirdre of Gander; sisters, Doris (James) Sproul of Barrie, ON, Betty (Fred) Dunphy of Calgary, AB, Ethel (Nathan) Dyke of Gander; grandchildren, Michael, Trevor, Kristopher, Kenneth, Michael, Jordon, Victoria, Nicholas, Jared and Brandon; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away on February 27, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, H.L. George Warr, age 83. Predeceased by parents, Joseph and Winnifred Warr and brother, John.
