KEAN, Daisy
Passed peacefully away on February 2, 2002, at Brookfield Hospital, Daisy Kean of Brookfield, age 94 years. Predeceased by her husband, James; parents, Susanna and Jonas Hillier; daughter-in-law, Louise; grandson Peter; four sisters and two brothers. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons - Kenneth (Eileen) of Brookfield, Gerald (Margaret) of Gander; daughters, Mildred (George Hill) of St. John's, Laura (Gordon Humphries) of Valleyfield; brother Jacob Hillier of Wesleyville; sister, Bertha Hurley of Pikes Arm, 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on February 4th at Ebenezer United Church, Brookfield with Rev. Sung Min Jung officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Brookfield. Donations in her memory may be made to the United Church, Brookfield. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

DAVIDGE, Lillian Maude
Passed peacefully away at her home on February 7, 2002, Lillian Maude Davidge, in her 93rd year. Predeceased by husband Vernon in 2000, sisters - Rhoda Cluett in 1997 and Alfreda Squires; brothers - Samuel and Hugh Bambury; and grandson, Clifford in 1971. Left with loving memories are sons - George (Edrie) of Gander, Hugh (Janice) of Toronto, Enos (Sharon) of Toronto, Frank (Dulcie) of Gander, daughters - Alvina (John) Thoms of Gander, Thelma (Gordon) Davidge of English Harbour West, Emma (Kenneth) Caines of Halifax; sister, Ethel Williams of Pools Cove; 20 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held on February 9 at St. Martin's Anglican Church, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

LUSH, Donald
Passed peacefully away on February 7, 2002, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Donald Lush in his 67th year. Predeceased by parents, Stanley and Gladys Lush; brothers - Eugene and Gordon. Left with loving memories are wife Mary; daughter, Julia (Gary) Blandford of Bedford, N.S.; brothers - Albert (Marjorie) of La Scie, Raymond (Eliza) of Gander, and Cecil (Phronie) of St. John's, brother-in-law, Sam Philpott (Marina) of Happy Adventure; sisters-in-law - Hilda Ward of Gander and Susahana Keough of St. John's; grandchildren - Jared and Samantha; several nephews, nieces and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held February 9th, 2002 from the Anglican Church, Gander. Interment to follow at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

ARNOLD, Melvin
Passed peacefully away February 12, 2002 after a short illness with cancer, Melvin Arnold of Hanover, Ontario, formerly of Traytown, age 59 years. Predeceased by parents, Herbert (Bert) and Alma Arnold. Left to mourn are wife, Darlene; son, Joey (Terry); granddaughter, Brittany; sister, Peggy (Norm) Genge; brother, Jeff (Roseann); one niece, three nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Cremation took place in Hanover.

HUNT, Edwin George
Died suddenly at his home on February 13, 2002, Edwin George Hunt, of Indian Bay, age 66 years. Predeceased by his parents William and Isabella Hunt; mother-in-law Margaret Ackerman. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Sadie of Indian Bay; four daughters - Christine (James ) of Indian Bay, Beverely (Crosby Bungay) of Indian Bay, Margaret (Peter Jones) of Jacksons Arm and Katherine of Indian Bay; one brother - Wilfred (Maggie) of Indian Bay; three sisters - Neta (Sandy Jones), Emma (Ronald Collins) and Eileen (Harold Oldford); father-in-law - George Ackerman, sister in law - Ada (Peter Parsons, all of Indian Bay; five grandchildren - Lori Bungay, Eddie Hunt, Lynnette Jones, Margaret Jane Bungay and Katherine Jones; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at the Anglican Church, Indian Bay with Rev. R. Osmond officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Indian Bay. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

VINCENT, Andrew
Passed peacefully away on February 14, 2002 at Brookfield Hospital, Andrew Vincent of Deadman's Bay, aged 75 years. Predeceased by his parents, Chesley and Triffeny Vincent; father-in-law, Loyola Bennett. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Shirley of Deadman's Bay; one daughter, Margaret Howlett (Greg) of Steady Brook; two brothers-in-law - Frank Bernard (Linda) of Toronto, Kevin Bernard of Toronto; three sisters-in-law - Theresa Young (Howard) of Noel's Pond, Metta Hann of Mount Moriah, Margaret Bennett (Ivan) of Corner Brook; two grandchild - Shannon and Nikita; mother-in-law, Frances Peddle of Corner Brook; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on February 16th at the United Church, Deadman's Bay with Rev. M. Bowlby officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Deadman's Bay. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

BLUNDON, Annie Beatrice
Passed peacefully away on February 17, 2002 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Annie Beatrice Blundon in her 81st year. Predeceased by husband, Frank G. Blundon in 1991; brothers - Solomon Saunders (Millie) of New York, Robert Saunders (Elizabeth) of Shearstown, Heber Saunders (Naomi) of Shearstown, Roy Saunders (Majorie) of Shearstown, Thomas Saunders of Shearstown, sisters - Jessie (Tom French) of New York, Emma Jane (Joe French) of New York, Dorcas (Clifford Badcock) of Shearstown. Left with fond and loving memories are several nieces and nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral services was held on February 19th at the United Church, Shoal Harbour. Interment at the United Cemetery, Shoal Harbour. Arrangements entrusted to Stacey's Funeral Home, Carmanville/Gander.

KELLOWAY, Gladys
Passed peacefully away on February 17, 2002, at Brookfield Hospital, Gladys Kelloway of Wesleyville, aged 78 years. Predeceased by her parents Isaac Cumby and Sarah Smart, husband, Alpheaus, son, Frederick, infant son, daughter, Shirley. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are four sons - Hurbert (Olive) of Wesleyville, Albert (Marie) of Brampton, ON., Alpheaus (Sherry) of Fort McMurray, AB., Warrant (Grace) of Mississauga, ON; five daughters - Carrie (Howard Osmond) of Traytown, Sarah (Bernie Dueck) of Winnipeg, MB, Millicent (Arthur Patten) of Wabush, Lab., Kath (Lloyd Roebotham) of Valleyfield; brother, Albert Rumbolt of St. Anthony; daughter-in-law, Louise Kelloway; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on February 19th at the United Church, Wesleyville, with Rev. S.M. Jung officiating. Interment followed at the Old United Church Cemetery, Wesleyville. Donations in her memory may be made to the NF Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

BAKER, VIOLET
Passed peacefully away at the Chancellor Seniors Park in St. John's, Mrs. Violet Baker in her 85th year. Predeceased by husband, Eli (1989). Left with fond and loving memories are sons - Winston and wife Beverly of Gander, George and wife Averill of Gander, John and wife Marguerite of Edmonton; grandchildren - Joscelyn, Eli Winston, Averill Jane, John, Annelle, Michael and Valerie; great grandchild, Annelle Violet; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on February 18th at the Fraser Road United Church, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery Vault, Gander. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home, Carmanville/Gander.

CHAULK, Jessie
Passed peacefully away on February 20, 2002, at Oceanside Boarding Home, Musgrave Harbour, Jessie Chaulk of Deadman's Bay, aged 91 years. Predeceased by her husband Nehemiah; son, Freeman; stepson, Carmen; grandson Calvin; granddaughter Vera Jane; sisters - Melinda Chaulk, Beryl Goodyear, Bessie Goodyear, Hilda Seaward and Lillian Skinner. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Jack (Janet) of Lumsden; stepson Cyril (Martha) of Musgravetown; daughters - Ethel Stokes (Peter) of Deadman's Bay, Yvonne Pardy (Edgar) of Musgrave Harbour, Beulah Abbott (Beaton) of Musgrave Harbour, Sybil Bemister (Lindsay) of Ragged Harbour, Jane Goodyear (Max) of Deadman's Bay; brother, Carl Parsons (Vera) of Carmanville; sister, Phyllis Sheppard (Doug) of Carmanville; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on February 22nd at St. Andrew's United Church, Deadman's Bay, with Rev. M. Bowlby officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Deadman's Bay. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Wesleyville-Musgrave Harbour.

STOKES, Calvin
Passed away on February 24, 2002 at Brookfield Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer, Calvin Stokes of Cape Freels, aged 55 years. Predeceased by his father Lloyd and brother Hayward. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Yvonne; two daughters - Janice Humphries (Kendall) of Cape Freels, Angie (Stephen) of St. John's, grandson Dylan Humphries; mother, Flossie Stokes of Cape Freels, five brothers - Junior (Sue) of Lumdsen, Carson (Marilyn) of Kilbride, Barry, Lacie (Louise) and Kevin (Kim), all of Cape Freels; two sisters, Phyllis Snow (Sterling) of St. John's, Mary Winters (Walter) of Wesleyville, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on February 27th at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove, with Howard Kean officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Cape Freels. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove-Musgrave Harbour.

HILL, Frederick
Passed away on February 26, 2002, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mr. Frederick Hill in his 78th year. Mr. Hill is predeceased by parents Samuel and Drucella; brothers Cyril and Edward; sister Grace Stockley. Left with warm and loving memories is wife Evelyn of Gander; daughters - Shirley and husband Jason Shea of Glenwood; Sheila and husband Paul Fisher of Lantz, N.S.; grandchild Erica Fisher; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on March 1st, 2002 at the Anglican Church, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery, Gander. Donations may be made to the Lung Association. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home, Carmanville/Gander.

FOOTE, Ruth
Passed away on February 28, 2002, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mrs. Ruth Foote in her 76th year. Mrs. Foote is predeceased by her husband, Matthew Hunt Foote and brother, Bill Lipscombe (Gladys). Left with warm and loving memories are son David and wife Lynda of Greenwood, ON; daughter Joan of Gander; sister Alice Machon of Kent, England; grandchild Matthew; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on March 2nd, 2002 at the Anglican Church, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Gander. Donations may be made to the Arthritis Society or the Gander SPCA. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home, Carmanville/Gander.
