PINSENT, Nehemiah
Born In: Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
Born: January 23rd, 1940
Passed in: Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
Passed on: December 27th, 2015

The death of Nehemiah (Neh) Walter Pinsent of Grand Falls, occurred on Sunday December 27, 2015 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center. Born on January 23, 1940 in Grand Falls, NL. He was the son of the late Nehemiah and Elsie Pinsent. In the early years Neh was the soft drink distributor for Bond Beverages before starting a lengthy career with the NFLD provincial government. Starting first as a Park Ranger for Catamaran Park, then Park Officer he then moved to the position of Regional Supervisor of the Eastern Region for Parks Division before finally retiring as the Maintenance Supervisor for Transportation & Works for the Central Region.
Neh was the proud father of 3 daughters and two sons and truly believed no one ever had grandchildren as wonderful as he did. He was beyond thrilled when he became a great grandfather to little Georgia in October 2014. He often said he never saw a more beautiful and happy child as his Georgia. Neh enjoyed spending time with family and friends and welcomed every opportunity to have a party, sing a song and especially to dance. And could he ever dance. Neh and Barb were amazing to watch on the dance floor and the entire Pinsent clan loved to see them "perform" at the many weddings and celebrations over the years. Neh also loved a good meal and especially a late night snack; he was well known for saying to us kids during our teenage years whenever we went out "on your way home if you want to pick up some chicken, I won't mind".
Family and friends would travel from Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and St. Johns every year in the fall to go to Dad's cabin for the annual moose hunting trip. While they were there to "hunt", the laughter, the food, the drinks and the stories; especially the stories were what brought everyone back year after year. No one could tell a story like Neh Pinsent - he was a master story teller. Neh was well known as a very kind person and often went out of his way for others, especially those on hard times or who were disadvantaged in some way. Many people benefitted from his kindness over the years.
In addition to his wife Barbara, Neh is also survived by daughters, Laurie Gale (Glenn) of Rothesay, NB, Kelly Pinsent of St. Johns, NL, Penny Wells of Grand Falls, NL; sons Nehemiah (Lisa) of Grand Falls, NL and Mark of Dartmouth, NS. Neh was adored by his loving grandchildren, Lyndon Knott (Paul), Shane Knott (Kristy), Marissa Gale (Nathan), Megan Wells, Courtney Pinsent, Marc Wells as well as great granddaughter Georgia Knott and son in laws Glenn Wells, and Lyndon Knott. He also leaves behind his older brothers Frank, Harry and sisters Elsie, Marian (Mick), Neta, Josie, and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Besides his mom and dad, he was also predeceased by sisters stepmother Ethel Bursey, Viola, Eileen and baby girl Pinsent (in infancy). Resting at Hoskins Funeral home; as per Neh's request there will be no funeral service or visitation; a celebration of Neh's life will be announced at a later date. For those who wish, donations to the Newfoundland and Labrador Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated or to a charity of the donors choice.
