McDONALD, Leslie -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton memorial Hospital, Gander on Friday, December 2nd, 2011, Leslie McDonald, age 74. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Elizabeth McDonald, sister-in-law Dollie McDonald. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Emily (nee- Parsons), daughters Cynthia (Toby) LeRoux, Mary - Lou (Derrick) Quilty, brothers Frank (Elizabeth), Charles (Carmel), Allistor, Terrence (Betty), John (Daphne) McDonald, Derek (Bernadette), sisters Annette (Reginald) Kendall, Maude (William) Boyd, Kristen (Andy) Kendall, grandchildren Renee, Jeremy, Heather, Lesley, step-mother Jessie McDonald and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander on Saturday, December 3rd from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Resting at the Anglican Church, Morrisville on Sunday, December 4th from 2:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 5th at 11:00 A.M.. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Morrisville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leslie's memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, Daffodil Place. DRODGE (SMITH), Mary Blanch -
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, Mary Blanch Drodge (Smith) of Clarenville, aged 88 years. Predeceased by husband Leander Drodge; ex-husband Wesley Smith; son Patrick Smith; granddaughter Carolyn Toms and sister Kay Bailey. Left with fond and loving memories her children Mary Bale, Jean Smith, Madonna Clouter (Austin), Catherine Toms, Angela Grant (Angus), Wayne Smith (Janice), Wesley Smith (Joyce) and Dan Smith; step-daughters Winnie Smith (Earl), Lorraine Sansford (Ted) and Linda Peddle (Jerome); step-sons Tony Drodge (Jen) and Ken Drodge (Theresa); 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral mass held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Clarenville with interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville.

HUNT, Kevin -
On Thursday, December 8, 2011 our hearts were broken by the tragic passing of our loved one Kevin Dwayne Hunt, age 41 years of Centreville. Predeceased by his infant sister Dana Michelle; grandparents Albert and Elizabeth Hunt, Pearcy and Ada Jane Collins; father-in-law Edrick Pickett. Kevin was a loving husband to his wife Margaret; a devoted father to his daughters Melissa (Chad) of Dover and Jessica (Brad) of Centreville; he was a loving "Poppy" to Nicole and Kamron. He will be dearly missed by his parents Eli and Abbie Hunt of Dover; mother-in-law Kathleen Pickett of Centreville; brothers Brenden (Christine) of Dover, Jeffery (Carolyn) of Glovertown, Dwight (Jessie) of Dover and Jason (Redina) of Dover. Kevin will be remembered fondly by a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service took place at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 with Rev. THOMPSON, Gerald -
Passed away at the James Paton Memorial Health Center, Gander on Thursday, December 15, 2011 Mr. Gerald Thompson of Main Point in his 76th year. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Stella Thompson and brother Scott Thompson. Left with loving memories are his partner Myrtle Park, sons; Neil (Ursula)of Toronto, ON., Brian (Jessie) of Carmanville, Clifford (Sharon) of Carmanville, daughters; Elaine (Clayton) of Carmanville, Glenda (Howie) of Main Point, Ellen of Gander, brothers; Harry (Susie) of Main Point, Morley (Florence) of Main Point, sisters; Mary (Ryburn) of Main Point, Louise (Norman) of Wings Point,12 Grand children, 5 great grandchildren, sister- in- law Evelyn Thompson. PENNEY, Maxwell -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Center, on December 18, 2011, Maxwell Penney age 79 years. Predeceased by granddaughter Allison Penney. Left with loving memories are wife Madeleine, son Keith (Barbara) and family of Gander, daughter Linda (Darin) and family of Gander. Max will be ever remembered and deeply missed by a large circle of family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service was held Tuesday December 20th from Fraser Road United Church. WINTER, Wilson -
On December 17, 2011 after a brave battle with cancer, Wilson Amor Winter, age 74 years of Badger's Quay passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents; Albert and Nita Winter, sisters; Sadie, Laura, brothers; Job and infant brother. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife; Evelyn, 2 daughters; Lorna (Jeff Carter) of Badger's Quay, Lisa (Rod Collins) of Cold Lake, Alberta ,7 brothers; Warwick (Helen)of Badger's Quay, Claude (Myrtle) of Badger's Quay, Clayton (Winnie) of Badger's Quay, Jack (Joan) of Valleyfield, Harvey (Eva) of Scarborough, Ont, Job (Penny) of St. John's, Bill (Stella) of Badger's Quay, 2 sisters; Margaret (Absolom Matthews) of Guelph, Ont, Bernice (Art Melindy) of Gander, 3 grandchildren; Noah and Nikiata Carter, Olivia Collins and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service took place on December 20, 2011 at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. John Nicolle officiating. DYKE, Watson -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Center, on December 19, 2011, Watson Edgar Dyke, age 87 years. Predeceased by parents C. Kenneth and Sarah Dyke and sister Muriel Stockley. Left with loving memories are his wife of 59 years Venetta, sons Terry (Lisa) of Salisbury, NB., Rodney (Lorraine) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB., daughters Paulette (Tony) Elliott of Middle Cove, Lorna (Don) Ducey of Gander, brother Milton (Marina) of Gambo, grandchildren Michael and Catherine Elliott, Richard and Kevin Ducey and Sheldon Dyke. Watson will be fondly remembered by his family and large circle of friends both in Gander and Eastport where he lived for 30 years. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service was held Wednesday, December 21st at 2:00 P.M. at St. Martins Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Tryphena Rogers
- after a brief illness, passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, December 27, 2011, in her 91st year. Tryphena was born on Silver Fox Island, Bonavista Bay, NL on January 4, 1921, moved to Hare Bay in 1956, and resided at Oram's Emmanuel Manor, Gambo, for the past six years. Predeceased by husband Samuel (sixty six years of marriage); Brother, Nelson Matthews; Sister, Rose Coombs (Joshua); Parents Samuel and Rachael-Ann Matthews. Left to mourn are: Sister, Susie Noseworthy (late Alton Noseworthy); Sister-in-Law, Elizabeth Matthews (late Nelson Matthews); Sons, Garland Rogers (Audrey), Winston Rogers (Geneva); Daughters, Leone Davis (late Gordon Davis), Margaret Burry (late William Burry), Shirley Rogers (Dan Foy); Grandchildren, Kim Sturge (Wayne), Troy Rogers (Cathy), Kent Rogers (Cathy), Michael Burry (Melissa), Jeffrey Davis (Tanya), Joanne Parsons (Troy), Jesse Foy, and Joshua Foy; Great Grandchildren: Cassandra Rogers, Christopher Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Cassidy Davis, Benjamin Parsons, and Allison Burry. Also left to mourn are a large circle of family and friends. Funeral Service was held on December 31, 2011 at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Hare Bay.
