Lakeside Homes, Gander, formally of Brent's Cove, Mary
Martin (nee Butler), aged 87 years. Predeceased by her
husband, William; parents, Bridget and Anthony; sisters, Elizabeth
Anne, Angela, Theresa, Katherine, Christina, Marie and Florence;
brothers, John, Michael. Left to mourn and to celebrate her life
are her daughters, Col, Presentation Convent St. John's, Mildred
(John Dubourdieu) of Gander, Bridget (John King) of St. John's,
Loretta (Mike McCarthy-decease) of Marystown, Marian (Brian White)
of Gander, Eileen (Eric Lapointe) of Québec City; sons,
Mike (Mary) of Whitby, ON, Clarence (Beverly) of Baie Verte,
Greg (Margie) of Moncton, NB, David (Karen) of Gander, Felix
(Judy) of Gander, Bill (Joy) of Gander, Charles (Helen) of Gander,
Neil (Elaine) of St. John's; thirty-one grandchildren; twelve
great-grandchildren and a large circle of nieces and nephews;
sisters, Col Maloney of Texas, Margaret (Dave Furey) of Bishop's
Falls, Uncle Greg (Agnes) Matthews of Brent's Cove, and Aunt
Mary Ellen MacIssac of Stephenville. Resting at Stacey's Funeral
Home, Gander. Visitation was held Wednesday at 7-9 p.m., Thursday
2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, December 5, 2008
at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's Parish Church, gander. Burial service
and interment took place from St. John the Apostle Church, Brent's
Cove on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers,

Passed away at Clarenville on Tuesday, December 9, 2008,
Bill Oates of Clarenville, formerly of Carbonear, aged
88 years. Leaving to mourn, wife, Barbara (nee Quinton); brother,
Hollis of St. John's; sister, Marjorie Swain of Happy Valley-Goose
Vat; nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Retired civil
servant (Dept. of Forestry), 51 year member of Masonic Order
and Past Master Clarenville Lodge, Past President Clarenville
Shrine Club, Past Grand Junior Deacon, Masonic President of Caribou
Lodge #148 of the Independent Order of Oddfellows and former
member of Canadian Rangers. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville.
Funeral service held on Friday, December 12, 2008 from Memorial
United Church, Clarenville.
FOWLER, "Ted" Edward Wilson -
Passed away peacefully on December 11, 2008 at
Belleville General Hospital, Ted Edward Wilson Fowler,
aged 75 years. Beloved husband of Barbara; dear father of Edward
Wayne and his wife, Pat; Donna Davies and her husband, Rick;
David and his wife, Janet and Shannon McLean and her husband,
Gordon. Cherished Poppy of six grandchildren. Will be greatly
missed by his siblings and their families. Memorial service was
held at Weaver Family Funeral Home, 29 Bay Street, Trenton, Ontario
on Saturday, December 13, 2008. Pastor John King officiating.

Passed peacefully away on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at
Valley Vista Senior Citizens Home, Springdale, Emma Sturge
(nee Ricketts) aged 83 years of Brookfield. Predeceased
by her husband, William Sturge (September 2008); son, Donald;
parents, Beatrice and John Ricketts. Left to mourn with fond
and loving memories are her daughters, Sadie Grimes (Hedley)
of Springdale, Leone King (Gordon) of Little Bay, Paula Cross
(Wayne) of Eastport; sons, Jack of Brookfield, Tony of Brookfield,

Daphne Sturge of Glovertown: 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;

Tabernacle, Valleyfield on December 16th with Pastor
Dwayne Mews officiating. Interment followed at the Pentecostal

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald "Wayne" Chinn,
born February 10, 1946; died December 24, 2008 at
the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, NL. Wayne is left to
mourn by wife, Fay (Feltham), Trinity Bay; daughter, Rosalee;
sons, Leroy (Crystal), New-Wes-Valley, Stanleigh (Kim), CBS;
grandsons, Alexander, Gage and Jayden; sisters, Leona (Walter),
Bedford, NS, June (Hubert), Cape Breton, NS, Shirley, Halifax,
NS; brothers, Vern (Doris), Lower Sackville, NS, Roger (Barb),
Cape Breton, NS, Gary, Sackville, NS; and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was a boilermaker for 44 years with Local 73. He spent
his boyhood in Rockingham, NS. When he married, he moved to Trinity,
Bonavista Bay, NL. A very kind man with dry humour. He will be
missed by all. Funeral service took place at St. Alban's Anglican
Church, Trinity, NL on December 28th with Rev. Hall officiating.
