COLLINS, Olive Maude –
The family of Olive Maude Collins is saddened to announce
her sudden death on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the
age of 77. Olive was born in Hare Bay on August 13, 1930 to the late
Edwin and Effie Saunders. Olive leaves to mourn her sons, Terry (Joan)
and Wade (Jean); daughters, Denise Alcock (Dave) and Joanne Collins-Cashin
(Brian); grandchildren. Kurt Collins, Mark Collins and Stephanie Alcock;
brother, Edward and Stephanie Alcock; brother, Edward Saunders (Ester);
sisters, Ruby Wells, Dinah Collins (Roy), Geneva Rogers (Winston) and
Rexine; sisters-in-law, Effie Saunders, Mildred Seaward, Josephine Collins,
Eva Collins and brother-in-law, Stewart Collins. She also leaves to mourn
other close relatives along with a large circle of family and friends.
Olive was known for her concern for others, generous nature and sense
of humour. She was always there to lend family, friends and neighbours
a helping hand and did not ask for anything in return, knowing they were
happy was payment enough. All children who entered her life were treated
like her own. She enjoyed cooking, long walks, berry picking, feeding
the birds and tending to her garden. She will be sadly missed and joyfully
remembered by family and friends. Funeral service was held on December
4th at the Salvation Army Church in Hare Bay. Donations may be made
in Olive’s memory to the Cancer Centre at the James Paton Memorial
Hospital, Gander or a charity of one’s choice.
GOODYEAR, Herbert -
Passed away suddenly on December 2nd, 2007 at
Thunder Bay, ON, Herbert Goodyear, age 59 years. Predeceased
by father Alexander. Left with loving memories are his wife, Edna; sons,
Cory (Judy) of Torbay, NL, Richard (Marlene) of Petawawa, Chancey of
Main Point; brothers, Sidney (Paula) of Lumsden, Clarence (Wanda) of
Lumsden, sisters, Maxine (Glen ) Howell of Templeton, Roma (Paul) Goodyear
of Lumsden; grandchildren, Chloe and Alyssa. Also a large circle of other

Funeral service was held, Saturday December 8th from Davidsville Anglican
Church. Interment Jehovah's Witness Cemetery, Lumsden. In lieu of flowers

Hospital, Annabella Burry, age 91 years of Valleyfield.

Fannie Gillingham; two brothers, Edgar and Alwin; brothers-in-law; Alfred

Edna was very involved in her Church as an organist and also played an
important role in establishing the Girl Guide movement in Gander Bay.

ANDREWS, Dorothy Veronica Beulah (nee Snow) –
In abounding memory of Dorothy Andrews who passed away
suddenly on the morning of December 15th, 2007.
She was a true treasure mourned by two daughters, Daphne Newhook, Gola
Roberts (Jim), cherished grandchildren James and Kimberly Roberts and
a special pet companion, Curly. Dorothy is also survived by brothers,
Reverend Sidney Snow (Gertrude), Shelbourne, Nova Scotia, Clifford, Mount
Pearl, sister, Marina Osborne, St.John’s Sister-in-law Roberts
Snow, St. John’s and Bessie Snow, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Also remembered
by a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents, Maria
and Clement Snow, twin brother, Donald, Graham, and Ford. Sister, Marjorie
Gillingham, son-in-law, Harold Newhook, sister-in-law Gola Snow, brothers-in-law
Roland Gillingham and Aubrey Osborne. Dorothy was born in Carmanville
on August 12th, 1926, and remained there until she began her
journey to Cape Island, Bonavista Bay as a teacher where she met her
late husband, Ezra. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral
home, 328 Hamilton Ave. and the funeral service was held at Gower Street
United Church, Tuesday December 18th at 2pm. A private family interment

WEBB, Gary A. –
Passed away after a lengthy illness on December
18, 2007 at
the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, Gary
Webb of Loon Bay, NL in his 69th year. Left to mourn
with fond memories are sons, Jeff (Dale, David (Patti), Greg (Danielle)
and many grandchildren; also brothers, Fred (Irene), David ( Sharon);
and sister, Mary Leigh. Gary also left behind family and a large group
of friends in Gander, Loon Bay and Woodstock, NB. He is remembered for
his great artistic talent, love of time in the woods and in the boat
and his good humor, which remained until the end. All who knew him remark
upon his many stories. The funeral service took place on December 21st at the United Church, Loon Bay. Interment followed at the United Cemetery.
