NORMAN, Olive L. -
Passed away on August 1, 2003, Olive L. Norman, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander. Predeceased by her husband, Allan. Left with fond and loving memories are son Bruce (Edith), grandson, Lucas; sisters, Marion and Catherine (Kit); also a number of relatives and friends. Funeral service was held August 3rd from the United Church in Pacquet. Interment followed at Bethany United Cemetery, Baie Verte. Donations in her memory can be made to the CNIB. WADE, Robert Carson -
Passed peacefully away on August 1, 2003, Robert Carson Wade at the age of 60. Predeceased by his father, James Wade. Left with warm and loving memories are his wife, Norma; son, Kevin (Elizabeth) and daughter, Karen (Harold), four granddaughters, Tia, Tammy, Brittany and Nikola; mother, Louise and stepfather, Kater; four sisters, Olive Collins (Daniel), Blossom Russell (Chris) and Clare Dyke (George); two brothers, Jacob Wade (Linda) and John Wade (Glennis); as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on August 3, 2003 at the Holy Trinity, Anglican church at Wings Point. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo.

MULLETT, James Cecil -
Passed away peacefully on August 2, 2003 at the Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, James (Jim) Cecil Mullett, age 85, born March 1, 1918 in Wesleyville, NL. Son of the late Andrew, Susanna and stepmother Barbara. Loving husband of May for 60 years. Predeceased by his sister, Francis, step-sister, Irene, brothers, Abe and Arthur, his eldest daughter, Cavell Morency (Jean Marc) and grandson, Robbie Morency. Brother of Myrtle Saunders and step-brother of Bill Noseworthy of Newfoundland. A super dad to Diane Caravan, James (Margo), David (Jane), Carolyn Wiscombe (Paul), Roma Guerin (Paul), Katherine Latini (Leo) and Dean. Poppy will be greatly missed by his 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Jim was a veteran of World War II having served with distinction from August 1941 to March 1946 in the Royal Navy. He was a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 582. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed nothing more than watching the Leafs play on a Saturday night. Jim (Dad) endured many challenges during his life but none so great as those he faced from declining health over the last three years. He amazed his family and medical staff as he pulled through time and time again. His courage and strength are unequalled. Rest In Peace "The Amazing Jimmy Mullett". We love and will miss you dearly. We thank the peel Paramedics and staff of Erin Mills Nursing Home and Milton and Credit Valley Hospitals for the care and compassion they gave him. The support provided by Veterans' affairs is greatly appreciated. Funeral service was held on August 7th. Interment followed at St. John's Dixie Cemetery. Donations to the War Amps of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.

NOSEWORTHY, Florence -
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital, on August 2, 2003, age 95, Florence Noseworthy, of Gainsville, Georgia. Predeceased by husband, Elias. Left with fond and loving memories are son, Elias Charles (Patricia) of Wantaugh, New York; daughter, Irene (Lewis) Sweetapple of Gainsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Janet Farrell, Wayne Sweetapple, Kirk Noseworthy and Tara Congero; great-grandchildren, Dana and Lindsey Rencoukos and Wesley Sweetapple and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service was on August 5, 2003 at Kittiwake Funeral Home with Rev. T. Cole officiating. Interment of cremated remains to take place at Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, Gainesville, Georgia, U.S.A.

HALLETT, Rebecca -
Passed peacefully away on August 5, 2003 at Islandside Manor, Rebecca Hallett of Musgrave Harbor, age 101 years. Predeceased by her husband, Jack and daughter, Wheliminia. Left to mourn with loving memories are her son, Harry (Frances), daughters, Irene, Josephine and Vida (Harold); 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral services took place at the Salvation Army, Musgrave Harbor on August 7th with Captain Richard Mouland officiating. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgrave Harbor. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Botwood Funeral Home and Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbor-Pound Cove.

CRUMMEY, Guy -
Passed away suddenly at his summer home in Western Bay, August 7, 2003, Mr. Guy Crummey, age 69 years. Predeceased by his parents, Jessie and Donald Crummey, and brother, Stan. Left to mourn his loving wife, Yvonne (nee Hudson); daughter, Michelle (Howie); son, Lamont (April), all of Gander; grandchildren, Nicholas and Paul; special niece, Kristal Crummey; grandchildren-in-law, Laurie, Robyn, Mark and Melissa; special family friend, Philomena O'Grady; and all the children that loved him as "Poppy Guy"; brothers, Maldwyn (Leah) Crummey, Victoria, NL; William (Dorothy) Western Bay, NL; David (Lorraine) Crummey, Lower Island Cove, NL; sisters-in-law, Mary Snook, Western Bay, Pearl (Garry) Rose, Mount Pearl, NL; Ruby (Steve), Ajax, ON; brothers-in-law, Embry (Dorothy) Hudson, Adam's Cove, NL; Wayne (Verna) Hudson, Mount Pearl; as well as many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Donations may be made to Fraser Road United Church. Funeral service was held at Fraser Road United Church, August 11th. Interment at all Saints Cemetery, Gander, NL. HISCOCK, Ebenezer (August 12, 1945 - August 15, 2003) -

, well known to others as Ebe, passed away peacefully at his home in Glovertown on August 15, 2003, after a long battle with cancer, age 58. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ellen Hiscock of Greenspond. Left with fond and loving memories are wife, Elsie; daughters, Sueann (Rodney Woodman),Glovertown, Jill (Dwayne Fountain), Fort McMurray, Alberta; son, David (Terri-Lynn) Glovertown; granddaughters who he adored, Victoria and Ashley Woodman, Abigail Hiscock, Sarah and Laura Fountain; brother, Fred (Carol) Fort McMurray, Alberta; sister-in-law, Geraldine Button (Lenard); brother-in-law, Clifford Brenton (Betty); brother-in-law, William Keats (Olive), all of Glovertown; sister-in-law, Dorothy Brenton of Gander, brother-in-law, Clyde Brenton of Apohaqui, NB; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on August 20th at Central United Church in Glovertown. Interment at United Church Cemetery. Funeral service by Rev. Paul Vardy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Oram's Funeral Home.

HAWKINS, Lloyd George -
Passed peacefully away on August 16, 2003 at Brookfield Hospital, Lloyd George Hawkins of Greenspond, age 68. Predeceased by parents, James and Mary Hawkins; daughter, Linda; brothers, William, Owen, George and Kenneth; and sister, Hazel. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Anna; sons, James (Daisy) of Greenspond, Donald (Barbara) of Marystown, Gerald (Patrina) of Newtown; daughters, Maggie (Reg Burry) of Greenspond, Mary Hoskins (Tom) of Greenspond; brother, Charlie (Pat) of Edmonton, Alberta; sister, Mae Crocker (Albert) of Otterbury Manor, Wesleyville; sisters-in-law, Grace Hawkins of St. Catherines, Ontario, Elizabeth Hawkins of Greenspond; seven grandchildren, Jeff (Lori), Jennifer (Edgar), Neil, Michael (Sheena), Nancy, Glenn and Jarod; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Brooke and Noah; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on August 19th at Stephen's Anglican Church, Greenspond with Father Dedee officiating. Interment followed at St. Stephen's Anglican Cemetery, Greenspond. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove-Musgrave Harbor.

BUDGELL, Bessie -
Passed peacefully away on August 21, 2003 at her home in Seldom, NL. Aunt Bessie was active in the ACWA. She was 84 years old. Leaving to mourn brother, John Hodder, nephew, Junior (Hilda) Hodder, nieces, Donna (Tony) Elliott and Amanda Hodder, all of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Sharon (Cliff) Thompson of Carmanville and Michelle (Paul) Sherlock of Orillia, ON. Rev. Broders conducted funeral services at Augustine's Anglican Church, Seldom on August 23, 2003 with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Seldom, NL. Pallbearers were Scott Dawe, Frank Harnett, Victor Combdon, Andrew Eveleigh, Junior Hodder and Clifford Thompson. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Garry Keats of Fogo Island Funeral Home.

SKINNER, Sefton -
Passed away on August 21, 2003 at Lakeside Homes in Gander, Mr. Sefton Skinner of Carmanville in his 91st year. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Emily skinner; first wife, Minnie; second wife, Gladys; four brothers, William, Leonard, Sidney, George; two sisters, Drucella Reader and Bessie Perry; stepbrother, Valentine Goodyear; and stepsister, Lillian Butt. Left with fond and loving memories are one son, David Skinner (Maunda) of Carmanville; one daughter, Helen Robideau (Russell) of Edmonton, Alberta; one sister, Ethel Anderson of Ontario; four grandchildren, Travis, Mary, Terry Lynn and David; three great-grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on August 24th at the United Church in Carmanville. Interment at United Church Cemetery in Carmanville. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home Limited, Gander-Carmanville.

TULK, Audrey -
Passed peacefully away on August 21, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Audrey Tulk of Aspen Cove, age 67. Predeceased by parents, Stanley and Kathleen Steele. Left with fond and loving memories are husband, Kenneth; son, Geoff (Cynthia) of Aspen Cove; daughter, Marguerite Leyte (David) of Fogo Island; brother, Harry Steele (Catherine) of Halifax/Gander; grandchildren, CharLee and Tyson Tulk; and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service was held on August 23rd at the United Church, Aspen Cove with Rev. Parsons officiating assisted by Rev. Chaulk. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Aspen Cove. In memory, donations may be made to the Aspen Cove United Church or to the Central Northeast Health foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbor-Pound Cove.

MERCER, Gladys Ann (Hayes) -
It is with great sadness that the family of Gladys Ann Mercer (nee Hayes) of Gander announce her passing on August 23, 2003 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, age 84 years. Pre-deceased by her husband, Lewis; parents, John and Sarah Grace Hayes of Bay Roberts and son, Noel, brothers, Roy and Simeon Porter, Archibald and Robert Hayes; sisters, Evelyn Hayes and Winnifred Janes. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her four daughters, Carol (John Walsh), Joy (Robert Janes), Bonita Bretz (Jacobus Maritz), all of Gander, Colleen (John Clarke) of Halifax, and one son, Keith (Louise) of St. John's; ten grandchildren, Randy (Lynn) Walsh and Rick (Ledona) Walsh, Grant and Brad Janes, Michael Bretz, Alex (Lisa) and Lauren Clarke, Meaghan, Michael, and Caitlin Hutchings; 3 great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Keshia and Brittany Walsh; and her sister, Winnifred Morgan of Port de Grave; brothers-in-law, Eric (Dorothy) of North River, Reginald of St. John's, Gerald (Corrine) of Gander, Neil (Anne) of St. John's and one sister-in-law, Marina (Ed James) of Stephenville. Funeral services was held on August 25th from St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Interment at All Saint's Cemetery, Gander. Donations in her memory can be made to a charity of one's choice. Passed peacefully away on August 25, 2003 at Baie Verte Peninsula Health Care Centre, Baie Verte, Lloyd C. Pennell, age 47. Predeceased by father Chesley A. Pennell; brother-in-law, Herman Angell; grandparents, Arthur and Alberta Pennell and Eli and Emma Parsons. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Jessie; daughter, Amanda; mother, Alma; brother, Hardy (Maxine); sister, Sylvia Angell, father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Phyllis Russell; sister-in-law, Eddy Russell; five nephews; two great-nephews; aunts, uncles and a large circle of friends. Funeral service was held on August 28th at Emmanuel United Church, Carmanville. Interment at United Church Cemetery, Carmanville. WHITE, Malcolm -
Passed peacefully away on August 30, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Malcolm White, age 79 years. Predeceased by his parents, Allan and Abigail White; brother, Bertram and sister-in-law, Mary. Left with fond and loving memories are his brother, Hedley White (Gertrude) of Catalina; nieces and nephews, George White (Maggie), Effie Collins (Lew), both of Hare Bay, Abbie Slaney (Michael) of Scotland, Jessie Trto of Courtney, BC, Cyril White and Diane White (Clyde), both of Catalina; and a large circle of friends. Funeral service was held on September 2nd at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Catalina with Rev. Gilliam officiating . Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Catalina. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbor.

PRITCHETT, Bernard C. -
Passed peacefully away on August 31, 2003 at his home in Gambo, Bernard C. Pritchett, age 73. Predeceased by his infant daughter, Julie Cynthia; parents, Elizabeth Jane and John; sisters, Pearl Hollett and Lillian Fewer and brother, Watson. Left with loving memories are his wife, Lena; daughters, Julie (Clarence Hender) and Janice (Kirk Kelloway); sons, Fraser (Glynis), Keith (Maureen), David (Sherry) and Jamie; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on September 2nd at Gambo Anglican Church. Interment at Gambo Anglican Cemetery. Donations could be made to the Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Pritchett's Funeral Home Limited, Gambo.
