GIBBONS, Amy
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one, Amy Gibbons, age 93 years, of Lumsden, on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay. Predeceased by parents: Joseph and Gertrude Stagg, husband: Ross, son; Hank, brothers: Oswald (Stella), Guy (Violet), James, sisters: Cassie (Cyril Blackmore), Clara (Pearce Gibbons), Melina (Nathan Humphries) and sister-in-law; Matilda. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are son: Andy (Christine) of Lumsden, brothers: Cyril Stagg of Lumsden, Edgar Stagg (Leon) of Cape Freels, sister-in-law: Edna Stagg of Cape Freels, dear friend and partner of Hank: Joan Baker. Grandchildren: Penney (Garry), John (Stacie), Tammy, Jamie (Winnie), Zabrina (Gunther), Candace (Mark). Great grandchildren: Melissa, Damien (Tracy), Dillon (Alyssa), Megan, Emily, Ethan, Zander and Daxon. Great-great grandchildren: Meia, Beau and Sonny, and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service was held on April 18, 2018 at Wesley United Church, Lumsden, with Rev. HARVEY, Ann
It is with great sadness that the family of Ann Harvey announces her passing the 21st Day of April 2018. Predeceased by her husband Roy Harvey. Ann will be sadly missed by daughters Avis (husband Brian), Denise, Michelle, Maureen (husband Colin). She will also be fondly remembered by her Grandchildren Roy Joseph, Joseph, Clifford, Tiffany, Matthew, Thomas, Jason, Kayla. Great Grandchildren: Camile, Conor, Clifford, Kelsey, Colton and Kaiden. And her brother Stephen Best. Funeral Service was held April 24, 2018 at 11:00 am from St. Joseph's Parish and laid to rest at All Saint's Cemetery. The family would like to thank Father Hearn, Patricia Noonan, St. Joseph's R.C.W., RC Choir and Dr. Lina Zablouk for all their support at this difficult time. HUMPHRIES, Melina
Passed peacefully away at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on Saturday, April 7, 2018 Melina Viola Humphries age 94 years of Badger's Quay. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Gertrude Stagg; husband Nathan; sons Oswald, Clyde and Randy; sisters Cassie Blackmore (Cyril) and Clara Gibbons (Pearce); brothers James, Oswald (Stella) and Guy (Violet); sister-in-law Matilda Stagg; brother-in-law Ross Gibbons. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Junior (Josephine) of Labrador City, Dwayne (Christine) of Wesleyville and Craig (Sandra) of Paradise; daughters Phyllis (Wendell) of Green's Harbour, Kathleen of Corner Brook, Sylvia (Eric) of Valleyfield, Cassie (Robert) of Badger's Quay and Christine (David) of Portugal Cove; sister Amy Gibbons of Lumsden; brothers Edgar Stagg(Leon) of Cape Freels and Cyril Stagg of Lumsden; sisters-in-law Edna Stagg of Cape Freels and Doris Humphries of Wesleyville; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service took place at Memorial United Church, Valleyfield on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 with Rev. Lorne Bungay officiating. Interment followed at The United Cemetery, Cape Freels. NOEL, Shirley

Passed peacefully away at her residence, after a long courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, Shirley G. (Frampton) Noel of Gander; formerly of Victoria, age 71 years. Predeceased by, father: Marcus Frampton; parents-in-law: Marjorie and Worley Noel; brother-in-law: Howard Noel; sister-in-law: Lillian Noel. Left to mourn, husband of 51 years: Edward; two sons: Barry (Sherry), Port Blanford and Kevin (David), Toronto, ON; two daughters: Vanessa (Chris) Milley, Torbay and Michelle (Bobby) Pryor, Gander; mother: Mildred Frampton, Nova Scotia; seven grandchildren: Megan, Rebecca, Ryan, Kyle, Cole, Emma, and Aidan; three brothers: Gordon, Raymond (Carol), and Ronald (Betty); one sister: Yvonne (John) Rose; brothers-in-law: Dale (Doris), and Donald; sisters-in-law: Yvonne Sheppard, Margaret (Robert) Marshal, Marilyn (Paul) Butt, and Shirley Noel; one special niece: Cheryl George; three children whom Shirley referred to as her second grandchildren: Reanna, Aisha, and Garrison George; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Roscoe Cole conducted the Funeral Service on Saturday, April 21 from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. SMITH, Dannie Maxwell
August 11, 1954 - April 3, 2018

Surrounded by family he passed away peacefully at The James Paton Memorial Health Centre in Gander on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2018 at the age of 63. He was predeceased by his father Alex Maxwell Smith. Left to mourn are his loving wife Gloria, daughters Crystal, Carolyn (Robert) and son Allan (Amanda). His loving mother Carrie, sister Donna (Clarence) and brothers David (Nina), and Douglas as well as a large circle of family and friends. Dannie was born and raised in Gander. He met his wife of 43 years Gloria in 1974, they married in 1975 and raised three children. Although he had no grandchildren he did have grand-pups Bailey, Madix, Buddy and Shadow as well as his precious cat JoJo whom he adored. Like his mother and late father, Dannie and Gloria enjoyed watching The Young and The Restless each day. He also loved to watch sports, especially hockey to see his beloved Boston Bruins play. He was a loving husband, father and pet owner. He loved nothing more than playing with his cat JoJo and he so enjoyed when Gloria entered a room and caught her doing something she shouldn't - Oh, how he laughed! He will truly be missed but not forgotten. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service was held Monday, April 9th, 11:00 am at Fraser Road United Church, Gander. SZETO, Wing Sing
August 3, 1947 - April 27, 2018
Szeto, Ken (Wing Sing)
passed away on April 27, 2018 peacefully at age 70 at James Paton Memorial Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his father, Kai Yong, mother, Tam Lin, brother Sheung, and daughter, Andrea. Survived by his wife, Donna, six children, Kenny (Rebecca), Natasha (Adam), Juliana (Matt), Jason (Lisa), Jasmine (Brandon), Tamara (Chelsea), sisters Yet Wah and Yet Ei, and his seven grandchildren, Lucas, Anika, Tristan, Jonas, Kyler, Ezra, and Lawson. Ken came to Canada in 1974, settling in Gander in 1977 to become owner and operator of Highlight Restaurant with his wife, Donna. He retired in 2013 after 36 years to enjoy life and his various hobbies. Family will be receiving friends at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander on Sunday April 29, 2018 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where a private family service will be held on Monday April 30, 2018, officiated by Captain Ashley Bungay, with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. The family is forever grateful to the nursing staff and emergency doctors at JPMH, especially to his family doctor Dr. Morcus Paulus for their comforting and compassionate care. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, Neta Vincent age 93 years of Newtown. Predeceased by her parents Keziah and William Boland, husband Roland Vincent, son-in-law Lloyd Knee, sister Julia Gill, brothers Maxwell Boland and Norman Boland, sister-in-law Margaret Boland and brothers-in-law Garland Tucker, Clarence Norris and Isaac Gill. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Russell of Victoria, B.C., daughters Ruth Knee of Badger's Quay and Carol Ann Rideout (Clifford) of Greenspond, sisters Ethel Norris of St. John's and Nellie Tucker of Bunyan's Cove, sister-in-law Lorraine Boland of St. John's, 5 grandchildren Cara Green (Cheater), Jennifer (Tyler Marsh), Steven Knee (Amy), Courtney (Michael Loder) and Darian Vincent, 3 great grandsons Liam and Gavin Green and Jack Knee and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on Sunday, April 15 at Trinity United Church, Newtown with Rev. Larry Noseworthy officiating. Interment followed at Trinity United Church cemetery, Newtown.
