It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on April 26, 2015, Nellie Goodyear age 91 years of Lumsden. Predeceased by her parents; Herbert and Mary Walsh, brothers; Bill, Andrew and adopted brother; "Young" Bill, sisters-in-law; Phyllis Templeman, Doris Hounsell and Laura Walsh and brother-in-law; Carmen Hounsell. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband; Douglas Goodyear, son; Calvin Goodyear (Rose) of Gander, daughter; Beverly Gair (Ken) of Paradise, grandchildren; Aimee (Jon), Vicki (Morgan) and Jamie (Deanne), great grandchildren; Kate, Benjamin and Brooklyn, special neices; Gloria Spurrell and Christine Fisher, brother-in-law; Wesley Templeman of Gander, sister-in-law; Betty Walsh of Guelph, Ontario and a large circle of other relatives and friends, especially the Lumsden congregation. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, April 29 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Lumsden with Mr. Leslie Stokes officiating. Interment followed at the Jehovah's Witnesses cemetery, Lumsden. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Moncton Hospital, Moncton, New Brunswick on April 1, 2015, Marjorie Howell age 78 years of Templeman. Predeceased by her parents; Ephraim and Elizabeth Jane Blackmore, husband; Baxter, sister; Marina Gordon and sister-in-law; Ina Blackmore. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son; Glyn (Maxine) of Templeman, daughters; Avril Attwood (Harry) of Valleyfield, Wanda Norman (Leonard ) of Newtown and Wendy Howell (Brent) of Moncton, New Brunswick, brothers; Jesse of Musgrave Harbour, Harland Blackmore (Marion) of Lumsden, James Blackmore of St. John's and Taylor Blackmore (Maureen) of St. John's, sisters; Sue Stokes (Junior) of Lumsden and Linda Parsons (Wayne) of Edmonton, Alberta, grandchildren; Michael, Michelle, Nancy, Ryan, Angie and Sydney-Rae and great granddaughter; Madison and a large circle of other relatives and friends. MERCER, Corinne
E. Corinne Mercer (nee Rees),
95, passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes on April 20, 2015. Born on Bell Island on November 6, 1919 of the late Arthur and Marria Rees. Corinne completed 2 years of Medical School at Memorial University College before moving to Gander in the early forties to work as an American Teletype Operator with the USAF. In Gander she met and married Gerald (Gerry) Mercer in 1947. Spent the remaining years in Gander raising her family and was an avid member of St. Martins ACW. Corinne is predeceased by her husband Gerry and brother Charles. Left to mourn is a large circle of family and friends including Sons Robin (Bernice Philpott) Gander, Arthur (Audrey Curtis) Twillingate, Lorne (Barb Snow) Appleton and Daughter Candy (William Holloway) of Gander. Grandchildren, Penney Mercer, Allison Mercer, Gerry Mercer (Julie), Michael Mercer, Dara Curle (Bobby), Nicholas Mercer and William Ford. Great grandchildren Carmen, Jessica, Jasmin, Adali, Max and Carmella. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our dear loved one on April 14, 2014, Leonard Gordon Penton age 46 years of Valleyfield. Predeceased by his grandparents; Ambrose and Mary Penton, Walter Winters, Ralph King and Arthur White uncles; Aaron and Dwight Winters and aunt Brenda Bennett. Passed peacefully away at James Paton memorial Health Care Center, Gander on April 11th 2015 Dr. Paul Jan Peter Pillar age 89 years. Predeceased by his parents Pawel and Elizabeth Pillar and 3 siblings. Left with loving memories are his wife Shirley of Gander, brothers-in-law Norman (Shirley) Warren of Cambridge, ON., Arthur (Helena) Warren of BC, sisters -in-law Kay (Mike) Savard of Kingston, ON., Joan (Clayton) Penney of Stoney Creek , ON. Raymond passed away at The James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Predeceased by parents Bert and Gladys Pinsent. Passed away peacefully at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Monday, April 27th, 2015, Priscilla Price, age 96. Predeceased by her husband Clarence, sister Jessie and half sister Edith. Left to mourn with loving memories are her sons Austin of Gander, Clyde (Beulah) of Clarkes Head, Watson (Rose) of Riverview, NB; Melvin of Lantz, NS; daughters Florrie Moss (Bert) of Gander, Muriel LeBeau (Ray) of Rockland, ON; Doreen Hill (Jim) of Orleans, ON; Debbie Power (Bob) of Mt. REID, Phyllis
Passed away peacefully at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on April 23rd 2015, after a courageous battle with ALS Phyllis Reid age 71 years. Age 80 of Glovertown, passed away at James Paton Memorial Hospital on April 1, 2015. Born on Deer Island, September 23, 1934, Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Elias; parents, Noah and Daisy; and brother, James in infancy. Audrey devoted her life to her family, friends, and church. She was a lifetime member of the United Church Women and spent many years involved in the church choir. She loved singing, sewing, knitting, making crafts, and baking. Left with precious memories are children: Eric (Linda) of Boyle, AB; Dianne (Bob) Green of Lower Sackville, NS; Janet Stroud (Denis Clarke) of Enfield, NS; Kim (Gord) White of Kingston, NS; and Keith (Tracey) of Prince George, BC; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and another expected. Also left to mourn are siblings: Bruce (Marcella d.) of Grand Bank, William (Edith), Ross (Agnes) and Stanley (Dorothy) of Glovertown, Katie (Guy d.) Bartlett of King's Point, Nancy (Harry) Gendron of Trenton, ON; brother- and sister-in-law Kater Taite (Louise d.) and Janet (David) Oram of Gambo.
