Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on April
2nd, 2010, Clement Elms, age 90. Predeceased by brothers,
Herman, Clarence and William. Left to mourn with loving memories are his
spouse Eileen, sons, Howard (Audrey), Jim (Donna), both of Gander; brother,
Lorne (Eileen) of Gander; sisters, Flossie Moore of Clarke's Beach; sister-in-law,

Mary (Mollie) Burton, age 95 years. Predeceased by her husband, Augustus, son, Malcolm,
and grandson, Calvin. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons, Ivan
(Barbara) of Brooklin, ON, Calvin (Della) of Gander; daughters, Marjorie
(Robert) Hamlyn of Appleton, Joyce (Heber) Bowering of Gander; grandchildren,

OLDFORD, Frederick Wilbur -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton memorial Hospital, Gander on April
11, 2010, Frederick Wilbur Oldford, last of four sons of Esau and
Minnie Oldford of Burnside, Bonavista Bay, NL. Predeceased by parents and
three brothers, Willis, Cleaves and Conrad; and a sister Ida in infancy.
Left with lifetime of wonderful memories his wife of 64 years, Betty (Wooldrige);
two daughters, Donna (Jim Rockwood) of Quispamsis, NB; and Shirley (Phil
Pomeroy) of Burnside. The "light of his life" - three
grandsons, Christopher Rockwood (Stacey) of Quispamsis, NB, Ian Rockwood
(Laura) Fredericton, NB and David Rockwood of Halifax, NS; three great-grandchildren
- his precious gifts - Jacob, Maggie and Sam Rockwood. A large number of
extended family and friends. He will be remembered by many throughout Newfoundland
as a self-made "man among men"; a leader and orator who
was never stuck for a witty rebuttal to any remark. He loved a good debate
and could hold his own with the best. He lived his whole life in Burnside,
a businessman, community leader and 45 years as a lay reader in the Anglican
Church. To Fred there was no better place in the whole world than Burnside
and wherever he traveled he felt it was always "better back home".
He was generous to a fault and welcomed everyone to his home and table. Funeral
service was held on April 15th at St. Alban's Church, Burnside. Donations

PENNELL, Ivy Stella (nee Bown) -
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on Sunday, April
11, 2010, Ivy Pennell, formerly of Main Point, Gander Bay, aged 90 years. Predeceased
by her parents, Frederick and Bessie Bown; sister-in-law, Mary Hale. Leaving
to mourn with fond and loving memories are her devoted husband of 65 years,
Gordon W. Pennell; children, Joan Squires (Fred), Lynda Holden, Lloyd (Tara)
and Paul (Cathy); grandchildren, Tish, Timothy, Justin, Josh, Cherylene,
Gerry, Steve, Cory, Natasha, Adam and Aaron; great-grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, other relatives and many friends, including special friends, Shirley
and Vic Biddiscombe and her Karwood Retirement Retreat family. Funeral service
was held at Barrett's Funeral Chapel and interment has taken place at Mount
Pleasant. Cemetery in St. John's on April 15th. Donations may be made to

With a heavy heart, the family of Patrick James Delaney wish
to announce his passing in Edmonton, Alberta on April 12, 2010.
Born December 10, 1922 at Long Beach, Conception Bay, NL, he was 87 years old.
Predeceased by his wife, Pellina; son, Eric; sister, Mary; sisters-in-law,
Hazel and Agatha. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children,
Edward (Patricia) Gander, Dennis (Sheila) Mississauga, Helen (Gary), Edmonton,
Diana Carmichael (Gary) Edmonton, Stephen (Nicole) Edmonton; brothers and sisters,
Michael, Mark, Dominic (Ann), Dorothy (Bill), Elizabeth (Frank); grandchildren,
Dodie, Eric, Rebekah, Leah, Zachery and Jake, and great-grandchildren, Leah,
Meghan and Maximus. In 1981 he was honoured by the Government of Canada, receiving
an award for long and efficient service as a Fire-fighter with Airport Emergency
Services at Gander International Airport. He also held the position of Deputy
Assistant Chief for the Gander Volunteer Fire Department. Patrick leaves
behind a large circle of close relatives and friends, in Edmonton and the
place he has always considered home, Newfoundland. Rested at Stacey's Funeral
