Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on April 2nd, 2010, Clement Elms, age 90. Predeceased by brothers, Herman, Clarence and William. Left to mourn with loving memories are his spouse Eileen, sons, Howard (Audrey), Jim (Donna), both of Gander; brother, Lorne (Eileen) of Gander; sisters, Flossie Moore of Clarke's Beach; sister-in-law, Winnifred Elms; grandchildren, Jim (Annette), Lynette (Keith), Rob (Sue), Steve (Kim), Brad (Wendi); great-grandchildren, Brittany, Jannelle, Jack, Sam, Brynn, Ben, Nathan, Sophia, Dylan, Lesley and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service took place on Monday, April 5th at 2:00 P.M. from St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. CHAULK, Joseph George -
Passed suddenly away on Sunday, April 11, 2010. Predeceased by mother and father, Dulcie and Ralph Chaulk; brothers, Clyde and Garland; sister, Annie Coles. Leaving to mourn wife, Verna; daughters, Jo Ann Chaulk (Rod Tucker), Jan Halliday (Bud); stepchildren, Brian Pennell (Julie), Weldon Pennell (Cavelle), Cathy Ellsworth (Rod), Roger Pennell (Tracey), Keith Pennell (Cathy); grandchildren, Janine Crane, Sheridan and Holly Pennell, Lucas and Drew Ellsworth, Ashley and Dillon Pennell, Tamara, Taylor and MaKenzie Pennell, Trinity Pennell; great-grandson, Tyresse Wheaton; sister, Lilly Coles (Harold) and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at United church in Aspen Cove with interment at Aspen Cove Cemetery.

BURTON, Mary (Mollie) -
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on April 11, 2010, Mary (Mollie) Burton, age 95 years. Predeceased by her husband, Augustus, son, Malcolm, and grandson, Calvin. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons, Ivan (Barbara) of Brooklin, ON, Calvin (Della) of Gander; daughters, Marjorie (Robert) Hamlyn of Appleton, Joyce (Heber) Bowering of Gander; grandchildren, Arlene, Geoffrey, Trevor, Lorne, Joanne, Ivan, Dwayne, Amanda, Cassondra and 9 great-grandchildren. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service was held April 15th from the Pentecostal Church, Gander. Interment All Saints Cemetery . OLDFORD, Frederick Wilbur -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton memorial Hospital, Gander on April 11, 2010, Frederick Wilbur Oldford, last of four sons of Esau and Minnie Oldford of Burnside, Bonavista Bay, NL. Predeceased by parents and three brothers, Willis, Cleaves and Conrad; and a sister Ida in infancy. Left with lifetime of wonderful memories his wife of 64 years, Betty (Wooldrige); two daughters, Donna (Jim Rockwood) of Quispamsis, NB; and Shirley (Phil Pomeroy) of Burnside. The "light of his life" - three grandsons, Christopher Rockwood (Stacey) of Quispamsis, NB, Ian Rockwood (Laura) Fredericton, NB and David Rockwood of Halifax, NS; three great-grandchildren - his precious gifts - Jacob, Maggie and Sam Rockwood. A large number of extended family and friends. He will be remembered by many throughout Newfoundland as a self-made "man among men"; a leader and orator who was never stuck for a witty rebuttal to any remark. He loved a good debate and could hold his own with the best. He lived his whole life in Burnside, a businessman, community leader and 45 years as a lay reader in the Anglican Church. To Fred there was no better place in the whole world than Burnside and wherever he traveled he felt it was always "better back home". He was generous to a fault and welcomed everyone to his home and table. Funeral service was held on April 15th at St. Alban's Church, Burnside. Donations can be made to St. Alban's Church, Burnside.

PENNELL, Ivy Stella (nee Bown) -
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on Sunday, April 11, 2010, Ivy Pennell, formerly of Main Point, Gander Bay, aged 90 years. Predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Bessie Bown; sister-in-law, Mary Hale. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her devoted husband of 65 years, Gordon W. Pennell; children, Joan Squires (Fred), Lynda Holden, Lloyd (Tara) and Paul (Cathy); grandchildren, Tish, Timothy, Justin, Josh, Cherylene, Gerry, Steve, Cory, Natasha, Adam and Aaron; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, including special friends, Shirley and Vic Biddiscombe and her Karwood Retirement Retreat family. Funeral service was held at Barrett's Funeral Chapel and interment has taken place at Mount Pleasant. Cemetery in St. John's on April 15th. DELANEY, Patrick -
With a heavy heart, the family of Patrick James Delaney wish to announce his passing in Edmonton, Alberta on April 12, 2010. Born December 10, 1922 at Long Beach, Conception Bay, NL, he was 87 years old. Predeceased by his wife, Pellina; son, Eric; sister, Mary; sisters-in-law, Hazel and Agatha. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Edward (Patricia) Gander, Dennis (Sheila) Mississauga, Helen (Gary), Edmonton, Diana Carmichael (Gary) Edmonton, Stephen (Nicole) Edmonton; brothers and sisters, Michael, Mark, Dominic (Ann), Dorothy (Bill), Elizabeth (Frank); grandchildren, Dodie, Eric, Rebekah, Leah, Zachery and Jake, and great-grandchildren, Leah, Meghan and Maximus. In 1981 he was honoured by the Government of Canada, receiving an award for long and efficient service as a Fire-fighter with Airport Emergency Services at Gander International Airport. He also held the position of Deputy Assistant Chief for the Gander Volunteer Fire Department. Patrick leaves behind a large circle of close relatives and friends, in Edmonton and the place he has always considered home, Newfoundland. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, July 21st at 11:00 A.M. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gander. Inurnment All Saints Cemetery.

STANFORD, Gordon -
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on April 15, 2010, Gordon Stanford, age 76 years. Predeceased by parents, Archibald and Pearl Stanford. Left with warm and loving memories are his wife, Audrey, sons, Paul, Daniel (Hazel), Pearce, Bradley, Archibald (Allison) all of Glenwood; daughters Deborah (John) of Ottawa, Audrey (Martin), Constance (Kevin) of Glenwood; brothers, Maxwell of ON., Sterling of Glenwood, Winston of Gander, Donald of Alberta; sisters, Yvonne (Abraham) of Gambo, Bernice of Aspen Cove, Geraldine of Gander, Lynette of Norris Arm, Darlene (Baxter) of Glenwood, Glowena (Calvin) of ON; grandchildren, Tyrone, Susan, Devin, Martin, Balene, Robert, James, Jeremy, Justin, Brooklyn, Zachary, Johannah, Carley, Jasmine, Robin; great-grandchildren, Jaden B, Jaden T, Carley, Dharma, Olivia. Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Sunday, April 25, 2010, Irene Angell, of Carmanville in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband, Harold Angell, grandson, Wendell and parents, Cater and Nellie Weste. Left with loving memories are her three sons, Gilbert (Verna) of Noggin Cove, Woodrow (Carol) of London, ON, and Irving (Theresa) of Glenwood; two daughters, Alberta Sherring (Scott) of Noggin Cove, Joan Goodyear (Edgar) of Carmanville, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on Sunday, April 25, 2010, Gerald Knee, age 79 years of Greenspond. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Trixie Knee; son, Lloyd Knee; brother-in-law, Saul Cooze. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Susie; son, Jerry of Greenspond; daughters, Trixie (George Williams) of Yellowknife and Cynthia (Simon Davis) of Ottawa, ON; daughter-in-law, Ruth Knee of Greenspond; brother, James (Violet) of Greenspond; sisters, Muriel (Lloyd Marshall) of Pool's Cove and Margaret Cooze of Manuels; grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam Young), Steven (Amy Hoyles), Danika, Allison and Sarah; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away in Ottawa on April 25, 2010, aged 96. Beloved mother of Peter (Lisa Young), Alan (Susan Carter) and Ruth (Garth McKane). Loving grandmother of Tom (Sharon Bala) and Alan Baird, Michael and Madeleine McKane. Predeceased by her husband, Jack (J.W.); eldest child, Jane (Bill Baird) and grandson, Daniel McKane. Her beautiful warm smile was never brighter than when she was at home in her cherished Newfoundland.

WINSOR, Neta -
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Sunday, April 25, 2010, Neta Winsor, age 92years of Wesleyville. Predeceased by her husband, Wilbur Winsor and daughter-in-law, Betty Winsor. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons, Job of Wesleyville and Fraser (Vera) of Wesleyville; daughters, Frances (Jack Tibadeau) of Stonewall, MB and Beatrice (Harry Sheppard) of Labrador City, NL; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at Jubilee United Church, Wesleyville on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 with Rev. Heather Sandford officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Wesleyville. Predeceased by her baby daughter, Joan; brothers, Rex, William, Leonard and Gordon; sisters, Annie Mae Reid, and Minnie Chaffey. Left to mourn are daughters, Sheila (John) Lynch of Lewins Cove, Doreen (Clarence) Goodyear of Roddickton, Bonnie (Jim) Piercey of Gander; grandchildren, Krista Lynch of Lewisporte, John Lynch, Jr of St. John's, Carla (Luc) Bellefleur of Moncton, NB and Michael Goodyear of Halifax, NS and special great-grandson, Nicholas Bellefleur; also leaving to mourn brother, Harold (Loretta) Peddle of Bloomfield and sisters-in-law, Beatrix Peddle of Musgravetown, Dorothy Peddle of Lethbridge and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home in Lethbridge, BB. Funeral service was held Saturday May 1st from the Salvation Army Church, Musgravetown. Interment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgravetown.
