ROGERS , Edgar -
Passed peacefully away on April 1, 2003 at Brookfield Hospital, Mr. Edgar Rogers of Musgrave Harbour in his 76th year. Predeceased by his wife, Bernice - 1997. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are one son, Roy (Sharon) of Musgrave Harbour; four daughters, Phyllis Collins (Michael) of St. John's, Judy Wiegert (Mike) of Mississauga, Ont., Shirley Goodyear (John) of Musgrave Harbour and Michelle O'Brien of Musgrave Harbour; one sister, Marion West (Dave) of Ladle Cove; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 4th at Kittiwake Funeral Home in Musgrave Harbour. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home in Musgrave Harbour/Pound Cove.

SAUNDERS, Piercey -
Passed peacefully away on April 4, 2003 at his home in Hare Bay, Piercey Saunders, age 77. Left to mourn are his loving wife, Zilah; daughters, Gladys (Eric), Glenda (Colin); grandchildren, Jeffrey, Travis, Justine; step-grandchild, Nicole; sister, Anne; brothers, Maxwell, Harrison (Myrtle); and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Forever remembered and loved.

STOKES, Ida -
Passed peacefully away on April 5, 2003 at Brookfield Hospital, Ida Stokes of Lumsden, age 63 years. Predeceased by her parents, Ephriam and Ena Whalen; sisters, Anita and Laura Vincent; granddaughter, Corina Stokes. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Eric; son, Jeffrey (Carol); daughters, Janice Melindy (Carson), Jeannette Gibbons (Paul), Jeanie, all of Lumsden; brother, Thomas Whalen (Joan) of Gander; grandchildren, Lee Melindy (Pamela), Darren Melindy, Jonathan Stokes, Douglas and Emily Gibbons, Cory Stokes; great-grandchild, Charles Stagg; several nieces and nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 8th at the United Church, Deadman's Bay with Capt. Feltham and Rev. Bowlby officiating. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Deadman's Bay. Donations in her memory may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Pound Cove.

FUDGE, Gladys -
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on April 7, 2003, Gladys Fudge in her 76th year. Predeceased by her husband, Otto - March 1, 1999, daughter, Margaret - 1956, son, Roger - 1962. Left with loving memories are her sons, Richard (Genevieve) of Gander, Dave (Janet) of Ontario, Dan (Heather) of B.C., Oswald (Doreen) of Gander, Paul (Sharon) of Gander, John (Melinda) of Ontario; daughters, Brenda of Ontario, Pam (Cliff) Samson of Gander; brother, Oswald Anstey (Venita) of Gander; sisters, Viola Ross of Gander, Diane Anstey of Gander; 14 grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 9th at Fraser Road United Church. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Gander. Donations in her memory can be made to the All Saints Cemetery Fund, the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements through Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

HOWELL, Wilson Randolph -
Passed peacefully away on April 8, 2003 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Wilson Randolph Howell, of Valleyfield, age 73. Predeceased by parents, Gertrude and Nathan; daughter Judy; brother, Leonard; brothers-in-law, Herbert Hunt and Douglas Jackman. Left to mourn are two sons, Randy (Sherry), Jamie (Lori); two daughters, Dawn (Gary), Wanda (Bruce); and their mother, Joan, eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy Hunt and shirley Jackman; three brothers, James (Millie), Sam (Effie), Esau (Rowena); sister-in-law, Beulah; and a large number of nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 11th at the United Church, valleyfield with Rev. Tony Cole officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Valleyfield. Donatiions in his memory may be made to Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay or The Lung Association. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kitwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove-Musgrave Harbour. To live in the hearts of others is not to die.

BATSTONE, Ernest F. -
Passed peacefully away on April 9, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, Ernest F. Batstone, age 63 years. Left with loving memories are his wife, Cherry; son, Jeffrey (Michele) of Moncton, NB; daughter, Tashia (Sonny) of St. John's; sister, Eileen (Robert) of St. John's; grandchildren, Emily, Michael and Joshua; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service was held on April 12th at St. Martin's Anglican Church, Gander. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Donations in his memory can be made to the Central Northeast Health Foundation. Arrangements through Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

FANCEY, Stanley -
Passed peacefully away on April 10, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Stanley Fancey, age 77 years. Left with loving memories are his wife, Floretta; sons, Ross of Ontario, Stanley, Jr. of Ontario, Bruce of Ontario, Robert of Glenwood; daughters, Joan of Glenwood, Christine of Ontario, Geraldine of Ontario, Sheila of Ontario, Linda of Glenwood; sisgter Stella Jerrett of Peterview; 22 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 13th at the Salvation Army Citadel. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Glenwood. Donations in his memory can be made to the Salvation Army Citadel. MOULAND, Robert -
Passed away at his residence in Musgrave Harbour on April 12, 2003, Mr. Robert Mouland of Musgrave Harbour in his 56th year. Predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and edward; two sisters and one brother. Left with fond and loving memories are his four aunts, Jean Whiteway of Musgrave Harbour, Effie Osmond (Frank) of Mississauga, Ont., Violet Stanley (Arthur) of St. John's and Ida Hicks of Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay; one uncle, Gerald Hicks (Hazel) of St. John's; many cousins; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 16th at the Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour. Interment at Hick's Cemetery, Musgrave Harbour. TUFF, George -
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's, on April 12, 2003, George Tuff of Badger's Quay, age 52 years. Predeceased by his brother, Stephen; grandparents, George and Julia Tuff, Charles and Blanche Howell, father-in-law, Steward White. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Linda; son, Scott of Ontario; two daughters, Angel of Badger's Quay, Darlen of St. John's; brother, Chesley (Gloria) of vancouver, BC; Four sisters, Elizabeth (Eli) Parsons of Indian Bay, Christine (Barry Kean) of Wesleyville, Alfreda (Gary Goodyear) of Templeman, Brenda (Craig Burry) of Wesleyville; two grandchildren, Peter and Katie; parents, Thomas and Clara Tuff of Wesleyville; mother-in-law, Annie White of Badger;s Quay; sisters-in-law, Ruby (Robert Feltham) of Badger's Quay, Judy (Terry Osmond) of Badger's Quay; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 15th at the United Church, Valleyfield with Rev. Tony Cole officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Valleyfield. KELLY, Maurice -
Passed peacefully away at his residence on St. Brendan's Island on April 13, 2003, Maurice Kelly, age 80 years. Left to mourn his beloved wife, Loretta of 51 years; sons, Hrold (Carmel), Ronald (Angie), Maurice (Linda), Gerard (Marie) and Paddy (Kellie - predeceased in 1999); daughters, Madonna (Anthony), Anita (Lou), Shirley (Randy), Loretta (Roger) and Linda (Derrick); 20 grandchildren; also a number of relatives and friends. Funeral mass was held on April 16th at St. Gabriel's Parish, St. Brendan's with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Brendan's. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander.

CHURCHILL, Winston Percy -
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital, on April 16, 2003, Winston Percy Churchill of Wesleyville, age 42 years. Predeceased by his father Zachaeus Churchill. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his mother, Dorothy of Wesleyville; three sisters, Lucy (Randell Bungay) of Wesleyville, Lorraine (Mason Winsor) of Wesleyville, Elizabeth (Michael Kennedy) of St. John's; seven nieces, two nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 18th at the Jubilee United Church, Wesleyville with Rev. Tony Cole officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Wesleyville. Donations in his memory may be made to the Jubilee United Church Cemetery Fund. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

BABSTOCK, Hannah -
Passed peacefully away on April 19, 2003 in the presence of her loving family at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Hannah Babstock of Happy Adventure, age 86 years, eight months. Predeceased by her husband, Samuel and daughter, Adelaide. Left with fond and loving memories are sons, Raymond (Beryl), Glenn (Heather); four daughters, Olive (Maxwell), Amy (John), Irene (Hubert), Louise (Ed); sister, Mary Ellen Dyke; sister-in-law, Gertrude Babstock; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 21st at the Church of The Good Sheppard, Happy Adventure. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Squires Funeral Home, Eastport. Never forgotten, always loved.

SAUNDERS, Lillian -
Passed peacefully away on April 20, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing, Lillian Saunders of Howley, born August 26, 1940. Predeceased by her first husband, William Sparkes and her second husband, Fred Saunders. Lillian is survived by her sisters, Nellie, Thelma, Vera, Irene, Florence; brothers, Shawn and Ern; her children, Vera Davis (Stewart), Barbara Ann Glover (Wilfred), Dennis Sparkes, Archie Sparkes (Ruth); seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral service was held on April 23rd at Glovertown United Church.

DAVIS, Wayne Scott -
Passed peacefully away on April 22, 2003 at the Miller Centre, St. John's, Wayne Scott Davis, age 54 years. Predeceased by father, Edward augustus Davis and grandparents, Levi and Ethel Davis. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his mother, Lillian Davis, Bonnews Lodge; sisters, Frances (Freeman Matthews) of St. John's, Linda (Pat Mullaly) of Northern Bay and Sharron (Wayne Kean) of Labrador City; brothers, Levi Jr. (Gwyneth) of Wesleyville, Bruce (Ollie) of Wesleyville, Geoff (Monica) of Sechelt, BC and Dennis of St. John's; special friend, Marilyn Butt of Paradise; 17 nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 25th at Jubilee United Church, Wesleyville with Rev. Tony Cole officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Wesleyville. Donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

LOCKE, Phyllis (nee Martin) -
Passed away on April 24, 2003 at the Hoyles Home, Phyllis Locke, age 88 years. Born at New Perlican, T.B. Resided in Gander for 46 years. Predeceased by her husband, William G. Locke; sisters, Ruby Baldwin and Frances Martin. Left to mourn are brother, Harvey Martin and wife Freda; brother-in-law, Frank Baldwin; nephews, Harvey (Lorraine),, William (Judy), Randy (Patsy); nieces, Christine (Brock) and Frances. Rested at Carnell's Funeral Home, St. John's and Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service took place on April 28th at 2 pm at St. Martin's Church, Gander. Private interment to be held at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

OLDFORD, Harvey Douglas -
Passed peacefully away on April 24, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Harvey Douglas Oldford of Sandringham, age 82 years, 11 months. Predeceased by his parents, stepmother and brothers-in-law, George Squires and William Coates. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Daisy; son, Eugene; daughters, Elizabeth (Robert), Elaine and Greta (Len); sisters, Anne, Isabelle, Pansy (Alfred); brothers, Calvin (Elizabeth), Norman (Olive), Chirley (Eileen), William (Kay); brother-in-law, James (Joan); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a large circle of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on April 26th, 2003 at the Chruch of the Resurrection, Sandringham, with Rev. Paul Thoms. Interment followed at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Sandringham. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Squires Funeral Home, Eastport.

MOSS, Eugene -
Passed away on April 25, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mr. Eugene Moss in his 67th year. Mr. Moss is predeceased by his mom, Genevieve, dad, Leonard and brother, Clarence. Left to mourn are his brother, Wayne (Butch); sisters, Mary Canning, Hope Knapman, Doris Dewling, Mary (Penny), Milne and Linda Howlett; also a number of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral mass took place on April 28th at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gander. Interment at All Saint's Cemetery vault until spring burial. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home Ltd., Gander.

FRANCIS, Gordon Cecil -
Passed peacefully away on April 27, 2003 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Gordon Francis in his 88th year. Predeceased by his parents; son, Roy; brother, Wilson; brother-in-law, Ernest Higdon. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Emmie; sons, Carl (Yvonne), Derek (Barbara), Calvin (Anne) and Barry; daughters, Verlie (Nelson), Josephine (Bob), Doreen (Bob); one sister, Ivy; one brother, Harvey; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on April 30th at Holy Trinity church, Wing's Point. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Clarke's Head. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Woolfrey's Funeral Home, Lewisporte. Donations made in his memory to Holy Trinity Church, Wing's Point.

FRANCIS, Gordon Cecil -
Passed peacefully away on April 27, 2003 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Gordon Francis in his 88th year. Predeceased by his parents; son, Roy; brother, Wilson; brother-in-law, Harry. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife, Emmie; sons, Carl (Yvonne), Derek (Barbara), Calvin (Anne), and Barry; daughters, Verlie (Nelson), Josephine (Bob), Doreen (Bob); one sister, Ivy; one brother, Harvey; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
