Passed suddenly away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, March 21, 2013, Obediah W. Antle of Victoria, age 64 years. Predeceased by father: Obediah. Left to mourn, wife: Janette; three daughters: Louise (Wayne) Spurrell, Alberta, Judy (Gord Penney), Carbonear and Kelly (Don) Slade, Salmon Cove; one son: Leslie (Wanda), Yellowknife; three step-daughters: Cathy (Jeff) Squibb, Carbonear, Dora (Graham) Snow and Rose Snow, both of Victoria; nine grandchildren: Terri-Lynn (Byron), April, Travis, Ashley (Eugene), Tracie (Scott), David, Tiffany, Brandon and Maurissa; step-grandson: Matthew; six great-grandchildren: Carter, Parker, Destany, Dylan, Tylor and Tyson; mother: Bertha, Victoria; brother: Ellis (Joyce), Victoria; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear. Pastor Geoffrey Ryan conducted the funeral service on Wednesday, March 27 at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Victoria. Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer while surrounded by her loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March 22, 2013, Deborah 'Debbie' Bray of Harbour Grace, age 53 years. Predeceased by grandparents: Ronald Hearn and Dorothy Hearn Yetman; Leonard and Elizabeth Bray. Left to mourn, one daughter: Alyssa Shaw, Harbour Grace; two sons: Marlon Rhines and Tyler Rhines, both of Perth, ON; two grandchildren: Strider and Riley; parents: Patricia and Herbert Bray, Harbour Grace; one brother: Lenny (Lori), Mississauga, ON; four sisters: Patsy (Sean), Acton, ON, Bonnie (Rob), Brampton, ON, Kathie (Kerry), Georgetown, ON and Dodie (Roger), Brampton, ON; very dear friends: Terry Crocker and Sharon Kitchen, both of Harbour Grace; also aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and very special friends. Predeceased by husband: Augustus; daughter: Mary Penney; parents: Daniel and Mary Neil; sisters: Violet, Mary, Anne, Mabel; brothers: William and James. Left to mourn, three daughters: Mabel Carpenter and Shirley (Wayne) Pelley, both of Harbour Grace and Cynthia (Wallace) Drover, Upper Island Cove; one son: David (Mary) Carpenter, Harbour Grace; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Daniel (Theresa) Neil, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents: Augustus and Laura Clarke; brothers: Oscar, Lionel, Nathaniel, Amos, Augustus and Alexander; sisters: Lillian, Annie, Susan, Muriel and Myrtle; a number of brother and sisters-in-law. Left to mourn, four daughters: Shirley (Jerry) Somers, Victoria, Minnie Deering, Tina Antle and Tanya Antle, all of Carbonear; two sons: Vernon (Lori), Carbonear and Blaine, British Columbia; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers: Pleman, Victoria, Donald (Gladys) and Bert (Olga), both of St. John's; one sister: Gladys Deering, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2013 in Toronto. Predeceased by husband Jack (1990), son John (1998), sister Delphine Oakley and brother, Oscar Crummey. Fondly remembered by sister Shirley (Crummey-Pippy), Mississauga and nephew Chris Pippy and niece Cindy (Glen) Fraser, nephew Rex (Diane) Pippy (Newfoundland), Brother Mundon Crummey (Western Bay), Beulah Tucker (Burnt Point) and aunt to Floyd and Jerry Crummey and Randy, Don and Gary Oakley. Also remembered by family and friends in Western Bay, Ochre Pit Cove, Small Point, Carbonear and St. John's Newfoundland. Much loved mother of Jeanette (Philip) Allenbick, Brenda (Emanuele) DiLecce, Sharon (Doug) Jackson. Grandchildren: Andrea (Danny) Bustamante, Diana (Brad) Saunders, Victoria (Ian) Roberts and Sarah, Daniel, Lori and Jennifer Jackson and great-grandchildren Peyton Roberts, Ava and Adele Saunders, and Jacqueline and Daniel Bustamante. Also remembered by brother-in-law Roy (June) Dawson and niece Debbie (Bob) Bauer in Kitchener and nephew Bruce Dawson. Remembered by sister-in-law Maude Crummey and nieces Nancy (Marty) Kimball, Liz Crummey and Donna Crummey. Left to mourn, brother: Bill (Phyllis) Davis, Ottawa, ON; sister: Olive Homer, Victoria; special niece: Karen (Frank) Butt, Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Florence Davis and Paula Squires, both of Carbonear, Carol (John) Button, Paradise, June (Bill) Atkins, Cambridge, ON, Cynthia (Ken) Noel and Cheryl (Frank) Pike, both of Carbonear; brothers-in-law: Curt (Paula) Earle, Kilbride and Greg (Elizabeth) Earle, Carbonear; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Left to mourn, twelve daughters: Mary O'Reilly, Veronica (Terry) Hynes, Philomena (Ben) McCann, Betty (Larry Houley), Anita (Wayne) Noseworthy, Dorothy (Bren) Follett, Vivian (Giordano De Almeida), Regina (Paul) Beckett, Eileen (Ray) Druken, Josephine (Brian Hatch), Pauline (Scott Coombs) and Bernardine (Ed) Royal; three sons: Ray (Barb), Bill (Annette) and Felix (Jenny); daughter-in-law: Pat Hogan; thirty-seven grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; three brothers: Bill (Ellen), Leo (Marie) and James; three sisters: Josephine Woodfine, Dorothy Delaney and Peggy Hanrahan; also a large number of other relatives and friends. POWER, William (Bill) Kevin

Passed on: March 11th, 2013

It is with great sadness we announce that Bill Power, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully, with quiet grace at Woodhall Extended Care (Brampton, ON) on March 11, 2013 surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 86. A Bell Island native, Bill was predeceased by his first wife, Bridie, and his parents, William Power and Mary (Sullivan), and brothers Gerald, Patrick, Lawrence, Hubert, and sister Marg. He is leaving to mourn, his loving wife Babe Power (Hammond), and children Mary (Vince), George (Chris), Billy (Michelle), Cathy (Wally), and Evelyn (Mike). Also left to mourn are brothers Cyril (Julie) and Brian (Marilyn). He will be sadly missed by 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Scott Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel", 289 Main St. N., (Hwy 10), Brampton 905-451-1100, on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 1-4 and 7-9. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on March 26, 2013, Patrick Shanks, aged 77 years. Predeceased by his parents Raymond and Cynthia Shanks; his brother Clifford; and his sister Beverly. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his wife of 54 years, Eileen (nee Rideout); 5 children: Jim (Gail), Kathy (John), Dwayne (Andrea), Annette, Tina (Gary); 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; as well as other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, March 28, 2013, Alec Stanley of George's Brook, in his 80th year. Predeceased by his first wife Effie; parents Maxwell & Mary Ann. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Ella of 10 years; sons Terry (Diana), Scott (Dana) both of Labrador City; step son Freeman (Juanita) Dalton of Clarenville; six grandchildren Christopher (Julie), Patti, Amanda (Andrew), Meaghan (Andrew), Krystal (Derek), Chad; three great grandchildren, Tanner, Gracen, Samantha; sister Madge Bailey of George's Brook and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 2 pm from the United Church, Shoal Harbour with interment at the Milton-George's Brook Cemetery.
