CHEN, Clive Basil - died peacefully at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on January
3, 2012. Born May 25, 1930 in Kingston, Jamaica. Predeceased by
his son Paul and grandson Neil. Leaving to mourn: daughter June (Leonard
Hynes) and grandson Kyle; son Allen (Janice Chen) and grandson Jared; along
with good friends Cecilia & Ray
O'Quinn. Clive will also be remembered by the many friends and acquaintances
that he made in Labrador City. Clive was born in Jamaica, his father was a
Chinese merchant and his mother was Jamaican. He joined the British army and
served as a peacekeeper in Europe. In 1968 he moved his family from England
to Labrador City and considered it his home. The family would like to thank
the staff and his friends of St. Luke's Home for their care and dedication
while he was a resident. No flowers by request. Donations in Clive's memory

LAING, Stewart

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stewart
Laing announce
his passing on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Labrador Grenfell Health Centre
at the age of 64 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Grace; children:
Norman (Ronda), Nadine (Deon) and Neil (Adriana); grandchildren: Jordan, Katelynn,
Nikita, Jamie and Emily; sister Virginia (Fred) and a special girl Kerstain.
As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by father Norman, mother Louisa Jane, sisters: Jessie and
Vera and brothers: Walter and Curling. Funeral service was held at the Anglican
Church in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on January 24, 2012, with Reverend Charlene
Taylor officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Fillatres Funeral Home.
WOODMAN, Annie Florence

Passed on: January 2nd, 2012
Annie Florence (Elford) Woodman, former resident of Labrador City, passed
peacefully away at the QE2 Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia on January
2, 2012.
Predeceased by her husband Harrison (2010), son Herman, 2 infant babies, sisters
Pansy (Robert Thorne), Daisy, parents Fred and Nellie Elford. Leaving to mourn
with happy memories and to celebrate her life with thanksgiving, her sons Roy
(Alma) - Wasaga Beach, ON, Barry (Iris) - Dartmouth, NS, daughter-in-law Darlene
- Kingston, ON, sisters Marie (Ross), Myrtle (Absalome), Verlie (Garfield), Julie
(Edgar), 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews,
relations and friends, brother-in-law Harry Wareham, 2 sister-in-laws Mary Woodman
and Florence Church. We will remember her by her endless support, love and laughter,
always proud of her family and friends that she met along the way. She will be
with us forever in our hearts.Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family
and friends took place at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, New Harbour on Sunday,
January. A funeral took place on Monday, January 9. In-cremation to follow at
Anglican Cemetery in New Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to
St. Augustine's Anglican Church Cemetery Fund.
