BRINSTON, Ken
Passed Away In: Labrador City, Newfoundland, Canada

Passed away suddenly, but very peacefully, with his family by his side, Ken Brinston, aged 81 years. Long-time employee of the Captain William Jackman Memorial Hospital. Past Master of Lodge Anik 1707 AF&AM, and member of the Mazol Shrine Temple. Predeceased by wife Patricia in 1995 & daughter Joan Hamel in 2005. Leaving to mourn, his wife & best friend, Pat; children Tony (Annette), Beverly Wellon, Paula Timmons (Gary), Ken (Ruth), and Kim Hamel (Todd); grandchildren Michelle Daigle, Lynn Collins (Sean), Kelley Albert (John), Ryan & Kyle Timmons; great-grandchildren Stephen, Katie, Chloe, Julie, and Mark; sister Mary and brother Richard; many nieces and nephews; and long-time buddy & dear friend Robert Wellon. Funeral services were held on April 25 at Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Labrador City, officiated by Father Jarek Pachoki. Donations may be made to the Mazol Shriners, P.O. Box 2385, St. John's, NL A1C 6E7.

Joseph Smith
of Labrador City, NL passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the Captain William Jackman Memoriam Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 70 years. He leaves to mourn his partner of 40 years, Marg O'Brien; his family: Linda Barron (Wayne), Wabush, NL; Brenda Coombs (Kevin), Saskatoon, SK; Kim Conway (Paul), Labrador City, NL; Gary O'Brien (Diane), Wabush, NL; and Corey Smith (Pam), Labrador City, NL; his brother Gerald (Barb), Lourdes, NL, and his sisters Mary Ann Skinner, Lourdes, NL and Cecelia White (Roy), Stephenville, NL, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren Scott, Beverly Ann, Ashley, Ryan, Kelly, Brittany, Jordan and Jayden. He was a devoted family man and adored his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten by family and friends.
