ROSE BLANCE
A flourishing settlement on the south coast of the island, district of Burgeo and LaPolie, with a large merchantile establishment. The land is mountainous and incapable of agricultural improvement, but a beautiful spiecies for building purposes, may be quaried here in unlimited quantitys. It is a post town and port of entry. Distance from LaPolie 15 miles by boat, and from St. John's by steamer once fortnightly 225 miles. * The fishery is carried on here all through winter, fare $10. Mail fortnightly. Population 452.
