HERRING NECK
A large fishing settlement on New World Island, district of Twillingate and Fogo. A limestone quarry is worked about half a mile from the settlement; the quality of the lime is excellent. Distant from Twillingate by boat 4 miles. Mail fortnightly. Population 870.
