| CAPE ST. MARY'S A prominent head land on the south-west corner of the peninsula of Avalon, district of Placentia and St. Mary's, with a lighthouse showing a red and white light alternately every minute. The land is very lofty. And the light can be seen 26 miles. Distant from Placentia 30 miles by boat, and by road same distance. Mail fortnightly. Population 16. |
