| BURTON'S POND A mining settlement on the north side of Green Bay, District of Twillingate and Fogo. A copper mine was opened here in the autumn of 1869, with every prospect of good success; there are over 50 miners employed at present. Distant from Tilt Cove 10 miles by boat, from Twillingate by boat 50 miles. Mail fortnightly. Population 60. |
