BACK COVE
A fishing settlement on Fogo Island, district of Twilligate and Fogo.
It is separated from Fogo Harbor merely by a narrow neck of low rock.
Mail fortnightly. Population 100.

Ludlow William, fisherman
Newman William, fisherman

Shea James, school teacher
Sargent Francis, fisherman

The entries have been transcribed as
they appear in the 1871 Lovell's directory.
Over the years, many of the names have become
colloquialized or spelled differently.
