Holy Family Parish was formally established in September of 1982 comprising the town of Paradise, then part of St. Edward's Parish, Topsail and St. Thomas, part of the Holy Rosary Parish, Portugal Cove. Before the construction of a church, masses were held at Immaculate Conception School Chapel in St. Thomas and in the Anglican Church in Paradise. The parish was originally served by Sister Brenda Phelan of the Sisters of Mercy, as pastoral minister, and by Father Denis Walsh until a full time priest was assigned in 1984 (Father John Wallis) and under his guidance, a new church and presbytery were were constructed on St. Thomas Line. The new church opened in 1985 and currently serves the town of Paradise with some 400 families. In 1989, Father Wallis was succeeded by Rev. Edward Purcell until 1996, when Father Richard McHugh was appointed Pastor.

This church is a new church that opened on Sept 15, 1982. Prior to this church opening the congregation used the St. Edward's Parish; St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Topsail and the Basilica in St. John's. There are no records available at the Provincial Archives of Newfoundland and Labrador for this Parish.
