HMS Buzzard Crew

Pilley's Island
1895

Pilley's Island survey done in 1895 by the Royal Navy ship "H.M.S. Buzzard".
The crew gave their names to various features in the harbour. The captain
got an island in the northern inlet which on the modern chart (based on
this survey) has changed its name to Picnic Island (perhaps Farqaur
was a bit of a mouthful).  Margesson got a smaller island in the
main harbour and the junior officer Reynolds simply a
shoal. The ship was also honoured with a shoal.
