Fort Amherst Lighthouse

St. John's

Fort Amherst Lighthouse is located at the entrance to St. John's Harbour.
The original lighthouse was built in 1813. However, the current lighthouse
only dates from 1952. The two buildings to the right of the lighthouse are
former keeper's dwellings. The farthest right is currently being operated
as a Tea Room and Gift Shop by Jack and Rosiland Power. Jack's
father, Leo, was a former lighthouse keeper from 1949 to 1972.
